I come here once in a while to get the atmosphere of the city, the music is beautiful so is the camera and the whole idea. Thank you for this beautiful work.
There are so many pieces devoted to his work but this remains my favorite. The soundtrack is bloody amazing and it really inhabits the liminal nighttime that he creeps through! I know it's part lore, and oft-repeated tales, but really, really beautifully done! Thank you.
Great / was in Tokyo Ginza Shinjuku on R & R leave from Korea in 1955 brings back memories: I wish that I had taken more photos but did get an 8mm video of Hiroshima
Here he was shooting film with a Ricoh gr, so it is “full frame “ . They’re high quality compacts, good lens and inconspicuous. He doesn’t want to be noticed , doesn’t want people to play up to the camera, so affecting the result.
An excellent video . He is an amazing photographer love his work and Shomei Tomatsu and Nakahira , 3 of the best Japanese photographers (all 3 were friends) I am a Canadian documentary photographer .
Daido, Tokyo, jazz, Ricoh GR, street photography - great!
Goran Pavletic I discover him right now. He shot with a Ricoh?
@Alessio Di Summa It is nice to know he is trying the fuji now

very well done. great soundscapes too.
His "fail" photos are better than my "on purpose" ones
Who did the sound engineering/mixing for this? It's brilliant.
His work, mini docs, full docs about Moriyama are so good. The vibe they give off is haunting.
It’s all been done, just go shoot. Forget what gear you used, it’s nonsense
That saxophone rips my heart.

He reminds me of Choi Min Sik from Oldboy.

I love watching this. Inspires me to shoot and shoot.
Nice
I like this guy!
Great exhibition.
大道にはほんとにJAZZが似合う。
mich würde interessieren welche Kamera er auf seinen Streifzügen benutzt ?!
Vaping- Steam 2015 ricoh GR1
I know he used a Ricoh GR21 in the early 2000’s. He probably uses a digital compact now.
Why he always using small pocket cameras? instead of full frame or medium format
He explained it once. When making streetphotography bigger cameras make people shy away. A small camera is much less intrusive.
Easily hidden
