When I listen to this one i picture Persephone, Queen of the Underworld in Greek mythology, bound to a lifetime of travelling between hell and earth as a 'compromise'. Every time she is returned to her mother Demeter, or 'mother nature', warmer seasons come and 'roots of hope can grow' (and also Persephone is the goddess of fertility- her name may mean 'to shoot/creep forth' like a plant germinating) ; when she is taken back to Hades, her mother makes it winter. To me, 'in her grief she lets us fade' is about how Persephone's mother, goddess of agriculture, created famine when she gave up her duties to grieve over the loss of her daughter. The 'earth beneath' and the 'light through cracks' could easily be refering to the Underworld where Persephone is kept. These are just my ideas but that's what I like to imagine the song is about. Keep up the good work Sammy, your work is incredible! (Also this was posted right after my birthday- the nicest surprise✨) 💚🍀
you slayed everything (as always) helpful microphone tips, seeing as you’re going down that road: 1. make sure audacity is set to recording in 44100 and 24 bits or better (that’s the quality most music is recorded at) 2. the blue yeti can record the entire room but the closer you are the warmer and more intimate the sound will be 3. make sure the gain is turned up loudly enough to capture your instrument and your singing, but not loud enough to pick up static or clip. (clipping is when your microphone picks up something that’s too loud and then sounds awful) i’m always here if you need me for any pro tips (no pressure lol)
