The early geologists expected find that the evidence supported it, instead they found it was not supported by the evidence that MUST exist if there had been such a Flood. I used to live like the world - women and looking in the mirror every 5 minutes to see if I still had my six pack so I could go out on the pull were my things. A viscious circle of dating sites/porn and training 5 days a week to keep in great shape. I lived like this untill 3 years ago (46 old) and that lifestyle eventually bought me to my knees (literally). So, I cried out to GOD and he showed up. "Who was at the tomb when they arrived?" Matthew - One angel (28:2-7), Mark - One young man (16:5), Luke - Two men (24:4), and John - Two angels (20:12). Did Jesus stay on earth for awhile after he resurrected? Mark - No (16-19), Luke - No, it all happened on a Sunday (24:50-52), John - Yes, at least eight days, and Acts - Yes, at least forty days (1:3). So, which do you choose? Page after page, Dan Barker looks at the Bible and shows the different versions..... so which is to be believed? Unfortunately Dr. Tour is a believer first, and a student of the Bible second, and he seems to accept it all as fact. And I can't begin to list all the contradictions that Dr. Tour misses....... So what does Mr. Barker conclude? He concludes the following: 1) There is no external historical confirmation of the Jesus story outside of the New Testament. 2) The New Testament accounts are internally contradictory. 3) There are many other plausible explanations for the origin of the myth which do not require us to distort or destroy the natural world view. 4) The miracle reports make the story highly suspect. Does God speak to the humans? Well, yes and no, depending upon where you're reading. And he certainly does His share of the killing in the O.T. For sure, which to my mine makes the Bible just another phony history.

I love this Guy. Here is the difficulty people face though. When we fell in the garden what happened was a shift from the spiritual self as the guide of self to the intellectual self gaining a say. When my children were young I was crossing the street with them as hurried as possible and they got tangled under my feet and down we all went. We quite literally fell. God said in the day you eat of it you will surely die. We take an overly literal view of the term death. A better view would be unable to function as designed. Obviously in the case of physical death all the functions we associate with being alive cease; and the effect is immediately apparent. The spirit is a bit harder to identify. Basically it is the will and if there is any doubt as to its power over us, stop for a minute and consider, why do people drink, gamble, chase the wrong dream, even knowing it is? That is sin, it is a direct problem we have with the will just as scripture describe to us. Now to the confusion and problem with the direction of how we are saved; the scripture says if you believe in your heart. It does not say if you believe in your head. The heart, many that lack understanding think is the emotional self, but that would be just another aspect of the sole. Rather the heart is the center of our being just as the heart wood of a tree is its strength. It is the will the spirit our center and as mentioned in the sons of Adam it’s broken. We can’t just decide to be Christian; it’s a calling that one hears and answers. If you have heard much of the testimony of Dr. Tour you will have/may have noted he says God spoke to him. Reading scripture you will note that every man we can identify as having faith has experienced the same thing, a direct encounter with God. Romes 10:17 says in the English.....Translation. So then faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of God; and this is no incidental detail, because scripture also says we are saved by grace through FAITH and this not of works lest any man should boast it is a gift from God. So to be saved you need grace which you receive from God....no worries God is good; and to receive that grace, to believe in your heart, you need faith.....which you get from the word of God….BUT that is an English translation? In the original Greek, word is Rhema. The Rhema of God, a spoken word. Yeshau says I stand at the door and knock if any man/person hears me and opens the door. SO HERE IT IS WE HAVE TO RESPOND. God call everyone none get left out but not everyone answers. Often because they are to busy doing good deeds, in the name of God. We use to have phones in our houses...today most people carry them around in their pockets, what has not changed though is why we answer them, why we RESPOND they still ring. Sometimes it someone we don't want to talk to. Until you encounter God personally He is nothing to you except a concept and worse, one you create, no different than the gods of Pharaoh. Sure He is constructed out of scripture as you understand it, but that same scripture says that without the guiding of the Spirit the natural man cannot understand the words written there. There is no getting around it Christianity is a personal relationship with God. It starts there and grows, but far too many think it starts in a weekly worship service. I am not saying there is anything wrong with worship or even religion if its right religion but neither are a replacement for faith, and to many when ask will answer; Faith? Well that believing in God, some might add and trusting, but that is not faith. Faith is not believing, faith brings about believing, no that’s not even correct it allows us to know; it is sight, spiritual sight. A caution here though spiritualism occurs as well, when a person may encounter a spirit other than the Holly Spirit. Many though just have religion. Anyone can know about God, but not everyone that does, knows God. Think how strange it would be for someone to ask do you believe in your mother? Not do you believe your mom, or do you trust your mom but do you believe in her existence. Why.... because that aspect of mothers isn't questioned and to do so would be absurd yet in the case of God it seems quite natural for people to say sure I believe in God... when what should be said is no I don't.... I know Him though, why do you ask, do you want to meet Him? That is how we speak of Persons we know. Yeshua said not everyone that says to me LORD LORD will enter the kingdom. Of course for those that are convinced they are doing the good works Christ spoke of following that, they would insert here (the Ten Commandments), please consider. Did we not? In your name prophesy and in your name drive out demons and in your name perform many miracles? But the answer isn't yes good and faithful servants....enter. Yet they were clearly doing things in Gods Is name. Still He says depart from Me I never knew you. What then is the will Yeshua is speaking of? And this is the will of him that sent me, that everyone which seeth/encounters the Son, and believeth ...ON/not in ON... him, may have everlasting life: and I will raise him up at the last day. That is the gospel that we do not get to heaven by works but by faith; and that faith is not intellectual accenting it is much deeper. While many that scoff and say things like invisible sky daddy the truth is that faith is easier for a child. The more power we have the more self-directed we become and the more confident in that self-direction, even when it is directed religiously toward God. If it’s not God whom we know it’s not pleasing to Him. For it is imposable to please God except that you walk in the Spirit. However you can’t walk with a person you have never met. How much more should God say in His word than this: Ephesians 5:8 for you were formerly darkness, but now you are Light in the Lord; walk as children of Light 2 Corinthians 5:7 for we walk by faith, not by sight-- Galatians 5:16 But I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not carry out the desire of the flesh. Galatians 5:22-24 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law. Now those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. Ephesians 5:2 and walk in love, just as Christ also loved you and gave Himself up for us, an offering and a sacrifice to God as a fragrant aroma. What if at times we walk according to the calling, and at other times we don't. God will chasten us according to His will, as children but we are that because of the adoption. As a servant under the law you must keep it the whole law and perfectly as Yeshua kept it. Grace by faith or Law but they are never mixed. It’s one or the other. Your in Yeshua in faith believing ON Him or your in the world on your own. Those that teach the law do not understand faith, or at least from what I have seen they don't seem to. They preach legalism as the good news. My biggest problem with that is I was born a sinner and I am much better at sinning than the law. I suppose if I was better at keeping the law I might feel better about bringing it to God and saying hey don't trouble yourself on my account. I am not proud of the fact that I was the reason or any part of the reason Yeshua suffered. I would love to be able to look in a mirror and say wow what a man. Thank you Brother Tour for the enlightenment of the scripture. As a woman in Christ I have always asked Father where did I fit in within his love. Many times from the pulpit the woman is demeaned regarding the scriptures. Especially in the Tora. Bless the lord. But in the death and resurrection of Jesus the Christ of God he nailed that to the cross also. Now we are one in the Beloved. I Love the Word of God! He gives us examples of who we are, so that we can have a way to pray and ask God to reveal Himself to us as individuals! So many are like Thomas, but fail to ask God to reveal Himself to them! A lot of people give Thomas a bad rep because he asked for tangible proof of the resurrection. What they forget to notice or mention is that the rest of the disciples had already had that kind of proof, . in Luke 23:36-39 we read about the appearance that Thomas missed. When Jesus appears the boys freak out thinking He is a ghost (v. 37), Jesus then tells them He is not a ghost and then he tells them to “handle me and see because a ghost does not have “flesh and boneL like he does (v. 39). He then shows them His hands and feet (v. 30), and even after handling Him they still do not believe (v. 40), so he eats some fish to prove He is bodily raised;t eat (vv. 41-44). Actually Thomas does better than the rest of the boys he believes immediately after experiencing the risen Christ.

I still remember the years...many years ago when I studied organic chemistry. I used to face severe, propulsive diarrhea before exams. I struggled in organic lab to make aspirin...a couple of grains...enough to pass the class. Even medical school and surgical residency was not as "difficult." I am in awe of Dr. Tour. Unless you have faced the gauntlet of organic chemistry and micro-chemistry you may not appreciate how much of a genius he is. I still remember "trying" to memorize part(s) of the Kreb's Cycle. I know one is not supposed to use the "exercise of authority" to form a personal belief. In defense of that, I will simply say that modern science SCREAMS the existence of God. From Death to Life I think that most atheists don’t really understand or look at the science that is now understood within the last 30 years. At no time in the history of science has God been more “obvious.” That said, I think that it would help apologetics if you did more discussion about evil and suffering. We all know, for example that Jesus suffered beyond horrifically in his last 40 hours. “New believers” sometimes get confused by this. If I am ever honored, or deserve to meet him, I will first apologize to him for his suffering. I believe we all have to acknowledge that, before we even acknowledge ourselves to him. That said, I am confused why he permitted this to happen. Suicide is forbidden. Yet he allowed it to happen to him. I would ask him why. It was not necessary for him to take on our sins. I really do seek answers and I found quite a lot of them. On the way to where I am now I found out that the Bible and people like Dr. Tour and his ID peers are dangerous obstacles, a pulled hand break for humanity, atavistic and undeserving of our time. Any integer person who bothers to study ID and its evolution from earlier and more overtly religious forms of creationism will find it an unscientific, faith-based theory ultimately resting on the doctrines of fundamentalist Christianity. Stick to that, be honest and call it Faith. To the contrary, trying to underpin your believes in the supernatural by scientific methods is not honest at all. Be honest and call evolution from cell to man faith. Even the simplest cell starts out complex and the phyla in the fossil record appear suddenly before diversifying. Evolution has never given a satisfactory explanation for that.

Dr. Tour is fortunate that Jesus appeared to him when he was a young man, and from this, was able to see the New Testament as a continuation of Jewish life and beliefs. Sometimes, I am envious of those who saw Jesus physically even in these days, however, Jesus said "Blessed are those who did not see, and still believe". I love Jesus Christ our Lord who physically rose from the dead and resurrected. For those who don't believe, or are still "on the fence" about Jesus our Lord, my only suggestion is at least research Him, read about testimonies, miracles and appearances that still occur today. That God Himself raised Jesus of Nazareth from the dead is THE central fact of all of human history. I am happy to see that Prof. Tour highlights Romans 10:9, perhaps the most crucial verse of Scripture there is. In terms of salvation, all God asks is that one meet just these two conditions and they shall be saved. Too, one is happy to observe the professor's witness, because his background adds a lot of intellectual heft to the Christian cause.

That is really close to an out and out lie. Nearly all scientists would accept real verifiable evidence for anything. Even a god as many scientists are at least a bit religious. HOWEVER, Dr. Tour's god is quite thoroughly disproved as it is the god of long disproved Bible. In particular much of Genesis is fully disproved, no one was trying to do so when the Great Flood was disproved, in the 1800's. The early geologists expected find that the evidence supported it, instead they found it was not supported by the evidence that MUST exist if there had been such a Flood.
Its important to keep in mind that saying goddidit its NOT SCIENCE. Its saying STOP don't look for a non-supernatural answer. So far EVERY SINGLE TIME, we find that there is no such evidence.
Do you have any such evidence? You would be the very first. Keep in mind it must be verifiable and not a just bald claim, as Tour is doing in his claim of Biblical accuracy. Assuming a goddidit is not something a good scientist should do when doing actual science as it leads to bad science. This can be seen in any of BS trying to disprove evolution.

@Dd S I'm going to give you some advice I hope you never forget. If you cry out to GOD with a humble heart HE will reveal himself to you. Right up untill your last breath. I used to live like the world - women and looking in the mirror every 5 minutes to see if I still had my six pack so I could go out on the pull were my things. A viscious circle of dating sites/porn and training 5 days a week to keep in great shape. I lived like this untill 3 years ago (46 old) and that lifestyle eventually bought me to my knees (literally). So, I cried out to GOD and he showed up. You got the short story but since my conversion to Christ everything has TOTALLY changed - no more living like a boy but a man of GOD. Dr. Tour acts like he was there is what bothers me..... he acts as though he has intimate knowledge when it was about 100 years even before a biblical FRAGMENT appears! And the people then were mostly illiterate, so who would have written it down? You might want to examine Dan Barker's book "Losing Faith in Faith -- From Preacher to Atheist", where he notes the following when he compares the four books of the Bible. "Who was at the tomb when they arrived?" Matthew - One angel (28:2-7), Mark - One young man (16:5), Luke - Two men (24:4), and John - Two angels (20:12). Did Jesus stay on earth for awhile after he resurrected? Mark - No (16-19), Luke - No, it all happened on a Sunday (24:50-52), John - Yes, at least eight days, and Acts - Yes, at least forty days (1:3). So, which do you choose?
Page after page, Dan Barker looks at the Bible and shows the different versions..... so which is to be believed? Unfortunately Dr. Tour is a believer first, and a student of the Bible second, and he seems to accept it all as fact. And I can't begin to list all the contradictions that Dr. Tour misses....... So what does Mr. Barker conclude? He concludes the following:
1) There is no external historical confirmation of the Jesus story outside of the New Testament.
2) The New Testament accounts are internally contradictory.
3) There are many other plausible explanations for the origin of the myth which do not require us to distort or destroy the natural world view.
4) The miracle reports make the story highly suspect.
Does God speak to the humans? Well, yes and no, depending upon where you're reading. And he certainly does His share of the killing in the O.T. For sure, which to my mine makes the Bible just another phony history.

Here is the difficulty people face though. When we fell in the garden what happened was a shift from the spiritual self as the guide of self to the intellectual self gaining a say. When my children were young I was crossing the street with them as hurried as possible and they got tangled under my feet and down we all went. We quite literally fell.
God said in the day you eat of it you will surely die. We take an overly literal view of the term death. A better view would be unable to function as designed. Obviously in the case of physical death all the functions we associate with being alive cease; and the effect is immediately apparent. The spirit is a bit harder to identify. Basically it is the will and if there is any doubt as to its power over us, stop for a minute and consider, why do people drink, gamble, chase the wrong dream, even knowing it is? That is sin, it is a direct problem we have with the will just as scripture describe to us.
Now to the confusion and problem with the direction of how we are saved; the scripture says if you believe in your heart. It does not say if you believe in your head. The heart, many that lack understanding think is the emotional self, but that would be just another aspect of the sole. Rather the heart is the center of our being just as the heart wood of a tree is its strength. It is the will the spirit our center and as mentioned in the sons of Adam it’s broken.
We can’t just decide to be Christian; it’s a calling that one hears and answers. If you have heard much of the testimony of Dr. Tour you will have/may have noted he says God spoke to him.
Reading scripture you will note that every man we can identify as having faith has experienced the same thing, a direct encounter with God. Romes 10:17 says in the English.....Translation.
So then faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of God; and this is no incidental detail, because scripture also says we are saved by grace through FAITH and this not of works lest any man should boast it is a gift from God.
So to be saved you need grace which you receive from God....no worries God is good; and to receive that grace, to believe in your heart, you need faith.....which you get from the word of God….BUT that is an English translation? In the original Greek, word is Rhema. The Rhema of God, a spoken word. Yeshau says I stand at the door and knock if any man/person hears me and opens the door. SO HERE IT IS WE HAVE TO RESPOND. God call everyone none get left out but not everyone answers. Often because they are to busy doing good deeds, in the name of God.
We use to have phones in our houses...today most people carry them around in their pockets, what has not changed though is why we answer them, why we RESPOND they still ring. Sometimes it someone we don't want to talk to.
Until you encounter God personally He is nothing to you except a concept and worse, one you create, no different than the gods of Pharaoh. Sure He is constructed out of scripture as you understand it, but that same scripture says that without the guiding of the Spirit the natural man cannot understand the words written there. There is no getting around it Christianity is a personal relationship with God.
It starts there and grows, but far too many think it starts in a weekly worship service. I am not saying there is anything wrong with worship or even religion if its right religion but neither are a replacement for faith, and to many when ask will answer; Faith? Well that believing in God, some might add and trusting, but that is not faith.
Faith is not believing, faith brings about believing, no that’s not even correct it allows us to know; it is sight, spiritual sight. A caution here though spiritualism occurs as well, when a person may encounter a spirit other than the Holly Spirit. Many though just have religion. Anyone can know about God, but not everyone that does, knows God. Think how strange it would be for someone to ask do you believe in your mother?
Not do you believe your mom, or do you trust your mom but do you believe in her existence. Why.... because that aspect of mothers isn't questioned and to do so would be absurd yet in the case of God it seems quite natural for people to say sure I believe in God... when what should be said is no I don't.... I know Him though, why do you ask, do you want to meet Him? That is how we speak of Persons we know.
Yeshua said not everyone that says to me LORD LORD will enter the kingdom. Of course for those that are convinced they are doing the good works Christ spoke of following that, they would insert here (the Ten Commandments), please consider. Did we not? In your name prophesy and in your name drive out demons and in your name perform many miracles? But the answer isn't yes good and faithful servants....enter. Yet they were clearly doing things in Gods Is name. Still He says depart from Me I never knew you.
What then is the will Yeshua is speaking of?
And this is the will of him that sent me, that everyone which seeth/encounters the Son, and believeth ...ON/not in ON... him, may have everlasting life: and I will raise him up at the last day.
That is the gospel that we do not get to heaven by works but by faith; and that faith is not intellectual accenting it is much deeper. While many that scoff and say things like invisible sky daddy the truth is that faith is easier for a child. The more power we have the more self-directed we become and the more confident in that self-direction, even when it is directed religiously toward God. If it’s not God whom we know it’s not pleasing to Him. For it is imposable to please God except that you walk in the Spirit. However you can’t walk with a person you have never met.
How much more should God say in His word than this:

Yes it is better to be in the Spirit, and we are exhorted in scripture to be, but what if we are not. What if at times we walk according to the calling, and at other times we don't. God will chasten us according to His will, as children but we are that because of the adoption.
As a servant under the law you must keep it the whole law and perfectly as Yeshua kept it. Grace by faith or Law but they are never mixed. It’s one or the other. Your in Yeshua in faith believing ON Him or your in the world on your own. Those that teach the law do not understand faith, or at least from what I have seen they don't seem to. They preach legalism as the good news.
My biggest problem with that is I was born a sinner and I am much better at sinning than the law. I suppose if I was better at keeping the law I might feel better about bringing it to God and saying hey don't trouble yourself on my account. I am not proud of the fact that I was the reason or any part of the reason Yeshua suffered. I would love to be able to look in a mirror and say wow what a man. A lot of people give Thomas a bad rep because he asked for tangible proof of the resurrection. What they forget to notice or mention is that the rest of the disciples had already had that kind of proof,
. in Luke 23:36-39 we read about the appearance that Thomas missed. When Jesus appears the boys freak out thinking He is a ghost (v. 37), Jesus then tells them He is not a ghost and then he tells them to “handle me and see because a ghost does not have “flesh and boneL like he does (v. 39). He then shows them His hands and feet (v. 30), and even after handling Him they still do not believe (v. 40), so he eats some fish to prove He is bodily raised;t eat (vv. 41-44). Actually Thomas does better than the rest of the boys he believes immediately after experiencing the risen Christ.

I still remember the years...many years ago when I studied organic chemistry. I used to face severe, propulsive diarrhea before exams. I struggled in organic lab to make aspirin...a couple of grains...enough to pass the class.

From Death to Life I think that most atheists don’t really understand or look at the science that is now understood within the last 30 years.
At no time in the history of science has God been more “obvious.”
That said, I think that it would help apologetics if you did more discussion about evil and suffering. We all know, for example that Jesus suffered beyond horrifically in his last 40 hours.
“New believers” sometimes get confused by this. If I am ever honored, or deserve to meet him, I will first apologize to him for his suffering. I believe we all have to acknowledge that, before we even acknowledge ourselves to him.
That said, I am confused why he permitted this to happen. Suicide is forbidden. Yet he allowed it to happen to him.
I would ask him why. It was not necessary for him to take on our sins.
Christians must learn to exercise personal responsibility.

safety from the well earned ridicule that people, like James Tour conflict upon
themselves, is the place where people go when their cognitive dissonance
becomes unbearable. It’s Christian apologetic nonsense, nothing more.
Have you noticed that it’s always religion, which is eager to warrant itself with credibility by proclaiming
scientific integrity for itself. It is never the other way around.
A few centuries ago, when science was in it’s infancy, religion tried to strangle it. That didn’t work, not it
tries to assimilate it. I suspect that is predominately due to the fact that an
ever-growing amount of people prefer reality to a comforting fantasy story

are removed from the system, and even the soil is simplified to contain only
the elements that the wheat crop needs. An open pasture may contain dozens of

not to mention the variation in the soil and the microorganisms growing in it.
The wheat field is simpler; it is designed. When we come across a watch sitting
on a field, we could probably tell that it was designed, even if we didn't know
about watches. Its body is made of brass, a material that has been purified as
much as possible to contain mostly copper and zinc; other elements are trace. A
rock, meanwhile, will contain a wide variety of minerals of various chemical
makeups, with all kinds of impurities throughout. The watch mechanism may be
intricate on a macro level, but the watch as a whole has been very deliberately
simplified to have the properties its designer wanted. Simplicity - not
complexity - is the hallmark of design.

Dr. Tour is fortunate that Jesus appeared to him when he was a young man, and from this, was able to see the New Testament as a continuation of Jewish life and beliefs. Sometimes, I am envious of those who saw Jesus physically even in these days, however, Jesus said "Blessed are those who did not see, and still believe". I love Jesus Christ our Lord who physically rose from the dead and resurrected. For those who don't believe, or are still "on the fence" about Jesus our Lord, my only suggestion is at least research Him, read about testimonies, miracles and appearances that still occur today. In doing so they are not educating but instead indoctrinating.
When challenged with the science which favors the creation model, instead of talking scientifically the Evolutionists respond by attacking the credibility of the person with insults, name-calling and other bullying methods. Doing so not only is unscientific but is wickedness and dishonorable.

If you demand science disprove natural phenomena it has to prove your supernatural phenomena or it's rank hypocrisy. It has not because it cannot. There is nothing to test.

That God Himself raised Jesus of Nazareth from the dead is THE central fact of all of human history. I am happy to see that Prof. Tour highlights Romans 10:9, perhaps the most crucial verse of Scripture there is. In terms of salvation, all God asks is that one meet just these two conditions and they shall be saved. Too, one is happy to observe the professor's witness, because his background adds a lot of intellectual heft to the Christian cause.
