Got a hilly ultra coming up next March am also just starting to train with poles. I went for the leki neo trail, similar to these but without the shark system. Didn't fancy wearing the glives.
@@liamhockey9189 sounds good, best wishes for your ultra. I’m training for a few road marathons at the moment so focussing on speed. Good to mix it up 🙂
Getting poles out and especially into the quiver gets much easier when you release the cord stopper a bit and cinch it again. With a bit of practice its one movement but much easier and zero rattling after cinching its properly again. Perhaps that helps you. For me it made a big difference.
These poles are very fragile! I would not recommend them over their standard poles unless you are just very weight conscious. I snapped a pole when I wasn't even strapped in. All that said, love them otherwise and they are extremely light weight. The store I bought them from replaced them for me, so they are still the pole I use but only in races and not on downhills.
Poles are something that I need to start using. Good skill and bit of kit to have. Thanks for the tips Tom. 😎🤘
Cheers Ben, I um and arred for ages before finally purchasing. I think for big elevation races can help a lot.
Very well explained

@@tomharvey-run yes variety is the best way, good luck with the training.

Thanks for info, I’ll practice that and see. 👍
Great video! May I ask how tall you are?
I’m 5’9” (175cm). Thanks

I’ll try and ‘handle with care’ as they were not cheap. Cheers for insight.
