  • Should there be a national divorce, where some countries secede from the US federal government?

Good show! Really there does not need to be borders with control stations so much. A breakup would be like the island of St. Martin. It is part Dutch, part French. No big deal crossing borders...just drive past a sign. They each have their own system.

Washington will not relinquish nuclear sites and infrastructure to a separate new nation. Our enemies will exploit it. Washington will use that.
Anyone who argues for it apparently cant predict consequences or think things through with any complexity.
What happened in the american civil war? Ceding territory itself isnt something they will even entertain in the first place. If you want hope for a better future its time to take back that agency and demand real representation in government. In both participation and advocacy. Waiting for the government to fix itself is a betrayal of the basic premise of this nation and its constitution. It requires attention and vigilant maintenance

Sounds like divide and conquer to me or destroying a country without firing a shot.

If you are not willing to fight for the country you have, you don't deserve a new one. The Libertarians have lost this country in three generations. Why do they deserve another country which they will then lose?

The Libertarians have yet to be in power.... how did they lose the country?

@mattrR678 Are you serious?? Libertarians aren’t the ones supporting rulers that violate private property rights domestically, invade foreign nations abroad under false pretenses and inflate your fiat money into oblivion; thats what Democrats and Republicans do.
Libertarians are consistently against all that. Dems and reps have proven beyond a shadow of a doubt that you can’t vote your way to freedom. That’s like complying your way out of tyranny. You can’t rage against the machine by voting for the machine in a literal machine made by the machine.
How did things get so centralized that now the very fate of an entire country is dependent upon the election (or not) of a single ruler? The truth is that 230+ years of voting is how we got here. If real change is desired, then it must be realized that the winner of EVERY election is government. This is how the status quo is maintained by ruling so-called “elites.”
The great F.A. Hayek opined, “perhaps the fact that we have seen millions voting themselves into complete dependence on a tyrant has made our generation understand that to choose one’s government is not necessarily to secure freedom.”
Robert Higgs appropriately said, “voting, the people only decide which of the oligarchs preselected for them as viable candidates will wield the whip used to flog them and will command the legion of willing accomplices who perpetrate the countless violations of the peoples’ natural rights.”
As Steve Curtin so eloquently put it, “voting is your voice and it speaks loud and clear: ‘I consent to being robbed and terrorized, though I may complain about it.’”
Robert Heinlein pointed out that, “when you vote, you are exercising political authority, you’re using force. And force, my friends, is violence. The supreme authority from which all other authorities are derived.”
Benjamin Tucker thoughtfully asked, “is not the very beginning of privilege, monopoly and industrial slavery this erecting of the ballot-box above the individual?”
When one votes, the voter is saying that they’ll honor the results of the election (meaning accepting whoever wins as “President of the US). They’re consenting to being a cog completely at the whim of the collectivist machine in which they find themselves. So, regardless of which party you vote for, it’s ultimately a vote for tyranny.
Wendy McElroy nailed it when she said, “voting is not an act of political freedom. It is an act of political conformity. Those who refuse to vote are not expressing silence. They are screaming in the politician’s ear: ‘You do not represent me. This is not a process in which my voice matters. I do not believe you’.”
In the words of Don Freeman, “I would rather take my chances with anarchy than this current system of scripted poverty, brainwashing, intimidation and never-ending war.”
Besides, following your ridiculous logic, peoples of the Baltic states that seceded from the Soviet Union and immediately experienced peace and massive economic growth didn’t deserve to have new country because of all the morons who support Joseph Stalin? You don’t actually believe that.
