Kya yaad dila diya yaar... Veer Zara original audio album had two CDs and second CD was all the Madan Mohan originals. What a gem.
"Tere liye" WAS "Dil dhhoondhhta hai" from 1974's Mausam by Gulzar.
The film had three versions of the song- depicting Summer, Autumn and Winter respectively, as per the title Mausam, and the complex, bruised relationship between a father, his estranged daughter and the wronged mother.
One of the three versions was omitted at the editing table and that very version came back to us as "Tere liye" in 2004's Veer Zara.
Like the other two, the third version was also supposed to be recorded by Bhupinder Singh in 1974. But since he had long retired in 2004, the makers went for Roop Kumar Rathore (and not Sonu Nigam), an unusual selection, because his timbre was the closest one could go to Bhupinder Singh.
I am in love with Veer Zara songs for a long time "Tere liye" being my favourite but now when I got to know the story my respect for the creators has grown and I'm very happy for Mr. Madam mohan; even after his death his work came out for the world to enjoy in such a beautiful way. I RECOMMEND everyone to listen the audio interview of Sanjeev Kohli on UA-cam ( son of Madan Mohan sahab). He shared long sad journey with the thirst of recognition. Thanks for making this video, i knew this long ago wanted public at large to know this gem of the great great legendary Madan Mohan.

Veer zaara has been one of my favourite films and the music n composition is top notch amazing creation by late Madan Mohan jii, whenever i listen to it's songs, especially Tere liye,it just teleports me to that time,no doubt it's a timeless classic Bollywood has ever made,the 2000s era i believe has been really that time when directors, composers came up with some really good movies and fabulously composed songs which did entertain us at the same time it was meaningful and we could actually connect to it, don't know why movies and songs like these are not made anymore in this industry,loved this movie a lot and still don't miss watching it whenever it comes on television,an example of a great movie that had the brilliant cast, direction, composition and playback singers,the storyline was also amazing and the songs,they are really touching, bilkul jism se rooh tk jaate hain

Bro i was listening to Mai Yahan hun and Do Pal last night, and today you released this video😂😂.... yes! Veer Zara is yet another gem and the ideal illustration of strong melodies. Although I had already watched videos on the album's making and the process used to recreate the late Madan Mohan's unreleased tunes, but I was unaware that Lag ja gale and other legendary songs were composed by him. Thanks for sharing this info🤗...and you're getting better with each video, congrats 👏

Tu insta pe nahi hai na! This is perhaps my 8th upload... YRF goes into full copyright mode! 7 Videos got blocked, Aaya tere darr par had to go! Few other compromises also were made but agar ye bahar hai, you can listen and comment on it, iss video par usse zyada meri expectation nahi hai!
