Mobile Fun Doesn't the alcohol swab ruin the oleophobic coating? And doesn't that adhesive run to the sides of the phone? Also, how hard is it to then remove? Oh and does it come with a UV light? What if you don't have one?
DANA Y but if that glass breaks your out 50% or more the value of the phone. The screen protector is an extra layer to protect the expensive glass on the screen.
Wow, not going to lie. I came in with low expectations for WhiteStone but left as a fan. AMAZING product! The installation process was not only a breeze thanks to you, but WhiteStone managed to remove the visible scratches I had under my phone. Well worth the money!
Mine came in today, and I installed it. It was pretty simple, it's just that BE SURE TO HAVE A FLAT SURFACE WHEN APPLYING. I thought I had a flat surface, and the first bottle adhesive completely slipped off my s9 screen. Good thing they have a second bottle. Besides that, this tutorial was helpful. 4/5
My Whitestone Dome Glass for the S9 Plus came today and I applied it and as soon as the screen protector dropped and the adhesive was fully spread, I noticed that the bottom edge was white, so it seems that the adhesive liquid didn't go there and I've done everything correctly, the guide that they provide it's amazingly perfect, so you don't need to worry too much. I also used the UV Light few seconds longer and had no problem. But you will still see some liquid on the edge that's why you should leave it for few hours without touching it (some people recommend to leave it for 24h but meh, it's hella too long) to let it dry I guess, but still, the white edge is kind of annoying just because that adhesive didn't reach properly the bottom edges. Also in general, the application is surprisingly easy after following this video. Thanks for the installation guide!
@@l.1244 Yes it does. But I had a slight problem first and then I cover it 2nd try. According to the video you have to check the surface level with the given oil bottle, it was flat but when I opened the bottle yhe oil quickly moved to one side ad dropped from the screen.
Guys i just got mine on: it's awesome but a few additional tips from my side: - Make sure the surface is really flat like really! Mine was just 1 degree off and now i have like a tiny part on the bottom that is glue free.. - the glass with the liquid is very slippy as long as you dont put on the uv light - Make sure you dont forget any steps: i forgot to put the stripes in that soak up liquid on the side and it spilled all over the bixby button... luckily i cleaned it off and it still works perfectly
Thank you for introducing me to this products, purchased it last week , installed it today and had no issues. The glue does give off a slight odor but atleast it confirms the glue is setting.
Hi, thanks for posting this video. I want to know can you remove it easily? Does it leave any marks? Also, can you feel the edge of the cutout at the top when pulling down on the notification bar? I had a tempered glass protector and it cut my finger while I was pulling the notification bar down. Thanks in advance!
Thanks for the video...as soon as I received my whitestone protector I was ready to proceed and in less than 5 minutes I was done... Thanks again for taking the time to do the video.
I got mine this morning and took off my Spigen case to apply it. Ive followed the process, applied my new Alcantara case as well and the result is absolutely awesome. I've had tempered glass before but none like this. I set it up beside my Mac and followed this video. The only thing I did differently was to use the dust removal sticker at every opportunity. Never again will i get anything but the dome glass.
THE best glass screen protector on the market! Followed instructions and it went on just like the video. Can't even tell it's a SP if it wasn't for the notch up top. No sensitivity issues whatsoever. Was very hesitant to drop $45 on a SP but got tired of the $8 ones that would collect lint and dust a week after applying them. For all of those I brought I could have purchased two of these! Seeing dust under my SP would drive me crazy! I'll give an update in a few weeks.
Much appreciated, would have gone crazy trying to install without video. Almost came out perfect, but I have a small air bubble on left side near the edge because my glue did not drop down perfectly centered. Not really noticeable unless I really look for it, so not going to bother trying to re-install.
I want to know two things about this: Does it loosen up with time and make it harder to tab/type? The phone is water-resistant, other screen protectors fall off when in contact with water (namely Panzer Glass), will this fall off when doused with water?
@@obfuscated3090 I've actually "washed" my phone so many times and it's still working great. The only issue is the audio sounds a bit muffled afterwards for a while (I'm guessing the water got to the speakers or something) but then it returns back to normal. I'm really planning on buying this screen protector but I gotta know these two things, especially the sensitivity of the screen after installation :\ I think I've spent around 250$ on screen protectors alone, all because the damn curved screen cannot have anything installed on it without some significant downsides. I'm sick of this edged screen craze, it's adding nothing to the phone except some style. Either they make it easier and cheaper to protect such screens, or switch back to flat ones.
Thanks so much! Your video helped me do my first install perfectly :) Hard to do in my house with all the pets, but managed to fend off the pet hair long enough!
I'm planning to apply a dbrand skin on my phone. I was wondering if installing this kind of screen protector wouldn't have any problems if it is layed over the screen with skins on its top and bottom bezels?
Brilliant video - excellent screen protector! Thanks. I confess to having been pretty intimidated when I saw all the paraphernalia that comes in the box but these instructions made it very easy.
Tnx for this great instruction video. My screenprotector is almost applied perfectly. You might mention that we do not place the speaker protector to low. Mine was applied a little to far on the screen. At the end that resulted in a 0.5mm wide place were the glue could not attach screenprotector/phone because the speaker protector was there. That should not have happened if I had applied the speaker sticker a little bit higher . Anyways.... I'm happy with this screenprotector. :)
I can't thank you enough for this tutorial. The instructions were confusing and I can't do the qr code for installation...when I need to turn my phone off to install the protector.
Are there any tempered glass screen protectors which are compatible with 360° covers such as the Unicorn Beetle, or the Otterbox Defender? I cannot NOT have a 360° degree case, I'm too nervous to only have the back of my phone covered; tempered glass or not. I've had too many bad experiences. 🙈
I dropped my s9, no crack but the screen got a quite big scratch, it's a little annoying but I don't wanna buy a new screen just for a scratch. I've read that this screen protector actually can fix scratches, so do you think that it'll fix my scratch?
What's an arse-around, what happens if I make a mistake? How easy is this to remove? Does it actually "protect" the screen? If I drop the phone, will it actually make any difference or just crack both the protector AND the screen its glued to?
It looks pretty cool when you watch it being applied. But doing it by yourself is a real pain. I had that experience with my S8 before and didn't like at all. First of all, the protector doesn't drop the way that you see on the video. Each time you try it, it goes left-right, up and down ! When you try to correct it you lose the adhesive to the sides. The second one, after being applied you can't use any case cause it will create pressure on the sides that will lead air bubbles on your screen (usually around the edges). So my experience wasn't so great and I heard similar things from some other people as well. However I have a friend who got lucky with that and very happy.

That's what I thought, so at every stage I frequently used the dust removal stickers, even after putting the solution on screen prior to installation. The result is awesome. Id only suggest taking time though, rush it and as you say dust will get on it.
Idk in my case, having installed some Whitestones on my familys phones.. Minor dust will actually be removed by the glue spreading, essentially sweeping it out to the outskirts of the tempered glass. Ofc, I would get having the paranoia. First time I ever installed these babies I’ve spent 30+ minutes removing dust. A tip would be installing it over a bathroom running hot shower, this will dampen the room and eliminate floating dusts remarkably.
