I’d love to see an AguFish Harley Benton ST signature with this exact configuration but with the agifish logo shaped pickguard instead of hello kitty. Then “hello fishy” on the back. That would be a lot of fun
Just an important side note: to do something, the shielding needs to be connected to the ground. The shielding in a pickguard is directly touching the pots and switch which by their turn are connected to the ground, for instance. For this to be effective, you also have to shield the electronics and pickup cavities (either in conductive tape or conductive paint) and have it connected to ground (if you have pots, switches, etc. directly in contact with the shielding and are properly grounded by their turn, that will ensure connectivity, otherwise you'll have to run a ground wire to the shielding, ideally screwing it in place like the way higher end guitars come from the factory). The shielding works by enclosing the electronics in a conductive box that blocks most electrical interferences, sending them to the ground signal. If it's not connected to anything, it'll block just as much interference as a tinfoil hat would. ;-)
umm i've heard that shielding has no actual benefit as for it to be effective, it would have to be a complete farraday cage which is not the case with guitar shielding
@@agufish I would, but i'm biased. however, i think it would be funny if he was super scary and metal, or on the opostie side of the spectrum super cute and maybe even wearing one of your other merch designs.
I’m currently in the process of assembling a powder pink hello kitty bass!! I’ve sprayed it powder pink and my friend is giving it a custom hello kitty design. I intend to put entwistle neodymium pickups in to give it some real punch and grit!!
When a bridge cost three times what you paid for a whole guitar. Lol. But that's amazing. I would have thought that stick guitar was not salvageable. 11/10 would intergrity again.
I love them. Surprisingly versatile and just so damn defined no matter how much tonal abuse in terms of distortion, fuzz and stuff you throw at them. By far my favourite "metal" pick up.
I bought a squier stagemaster VII and I’m beyond glad you did this video because most of the parts you used to upgrade I can use on the squier, thank you so much!
Just throwing it out there, for the same total cost as this project, you could buy a totally sweet Dean Cadillac, and you’d probably still have change to get Pringles some Alpo.
Forest Fifer I mean you could refinish it to make it a pink Hello Kitty Dean Cadillac. Like start with a Dean Cadillac X series, strip the paint off, and all you’d have to do is figure out the cuts for a Hello Kitty pickguard.
So. Next time if you need to line up the tuners, just.. you know, push something flat along the side. All the flat sides should go flush with the straightedge and it all just lines up real easy.
You may have done this, but a tip for lining up the tuners: place a ruler or straightedge of some kind along the bottom edge of the tuners. It’ll straighten them all up with each other and then you can screw them in
little tip for future projects without those tuner plates; place a ruler up against the tuners, not to measure, but the straight edge will line them all up.
Never ever heard of this Black Winter from Seymour Duncan before. But for me, it sounds crunchy & it feels like Slipknot's tone. Of course the clean I feel pretty warm
It feels like there's less low-end chug with the black winter in the full mix, though black winters are voiced more for the "lo-fi, hail Satan" black metal with more mids and treble. Glad to see this is finally out, fabulous job as always!
Not a metal guy, but I love this channel. You turned me on to the Hipshot GripLock locking tuners, and they are now on 11 out of 12 of my guitars. The other has Sperzel's because Hipshot didn't have any in stock at the moment. They're the best tuners on the planet.
Reached for my headphones during the comparison. The second the upgrades kicked in though, heard it RIGHT OFF OF MY PHONE SPEAKERS Sweet fuck Seymour Duncan knows what they’re doing.
My main guitar is a squire jimmy shine edition with Seymour Duncan blackout. the guitar was a gift and it kinda sat around for years, i loaned it to a friend that kept it for around 2 years and when i got it back, i upgraded the pickup to the blackout and its passed up my ibanez rgs, washburn n4 and jackson usa model as my main go to workhorse.
I love Phil DeFranco's face on your monitor while you're riffing. 😂 Also... See how that neck settles. I had a neck that went wildly all over the place but it eventually settled to where I really only have to give it a mild tweak with the change of seasons.
I'm pretty new to playing guitar and typically can't hear the difference between cheap and expensive pickups, but I definitely can on this video. Nice job.
Hey buddy this is from the blind black man off I like that even though I can’t see it that good movie I remember days when my daughter was into the HelloKitty so thank you sir for a nice memory
I would love to see you upgrade a LyxPro guitar. I got one back in October of 2019, either the 20th or 21st. And I loved it. But maybe there's a bit of downsides to it. I love these videos, someday I would love to be able to upgrade guitars as well as you can. Thank you for making these videos. Keep up the good work!
Some say he only munches on the downbeat, and drinks his coffee to the harmony. And there's a mola-mola tattoo on the ankle of one of his former paramours. All we know is, he's called Der Fish!
Its a wood body with a Wood neck. Its worth the parts. But what will truly make it worth it is a proper setup. If thats done well it could play as good as anything on the market.
If I had 600 bucks to spend, I would buy a Harley Benton Amarok 7 or an ESP LTD MH-471 used. But I have to say I enjoy watching your high integrity mod projects, they're super fun and this one is no exception. So thanks for being completely nut ;)
With me watching these, i'm invigorated to get to modding my guitars again. But I was wayyy to hastey before and gutted guitars before even buying everything for them, gotta learn better than that. Thanks for a great video!
Bro, I've been waiting forever for someone to make these kinds of videos. Really enjoy them and answers alot of my questions I had about these types of projects. Keep it up my guy🤘
Upgrading cheap guitars is my jam. If you like the body and the neck plays well, why not? You'll get the exact specs you want instead of getting what wathever the big brands decided would sell well in a certain price point and market.
yet an other cool makeover, I love the tinkering part! this video made me remember why I sold my Black Winter... cool name, cool design, but... horrendous sound.
That's a pretty cool video! I was having the straightening problem on some guitars myself and ended up using something straight, like a piece of wood or, recently, my leveling beam, to set them against so that they are at least in line with each other.
One thing I love about your videos is the music in the background, which I'm pretty sure is your original work. I think we would all love to see you just playing your own music. You should tell us where to find it. haha hope you're doing well.
I love this series. I have a squire tele dual hum bucket that I upgraded to hipshot open gear tuners and emg hot 70s pickups. And it’s one of my favorite guitars after all that.
Initially thought you were taking the Squier Hello Kitty guitar and turning it into a 7-string but this is a million times more interesting. Also means your Evertune stays put. But that might be an interesting High Intergrety project some day.... ;)
Okay. Probably gonna be a bit of a dissenting opinion here. I liked the in the Mix for the Stock pickup over the Black Winter. Without drive, it was really not great, and on it's own it was less exciting, but it sat really nicely in the mix, and didn't "Bump into" other parts like you'd said. That however, is an EQ issue more then anything. I found the Black Winter sounded really... Flat in comparison, certainly more defined when i could hear it, but it lost that all when there was more going on. On the neck? It'll stabilize. If the Behringer Strat I pulled out of a ditch can, I am confident that this neck will find a spot to sit. Just crank that truss rod, yo.
Maybe for the next mod project you could use some Gotoh locking tuners instead. Unlike what alot of people think, all Hipshot hardware is made in Korea, not America like alot of companies have you think. At least Gotoh is actually incredible made in Japan quality and would've been a direct replacement for this strat. Anyways, love your videos as always!
I actually like this series. No kidding.
We all do like watching Hunter spend his money for nothing
Ditto
i always have too lmao
Same
Gibson video was good
I’d love to see an AguFish Harley Benton ST signature with this exact configuration but with the agifish logo shaped pickguard instead of hello kitty. Then “hello fishy” on the back. That would be a lot of fun
A double cut AguFish signature? Maybe when hell freezes over. The man loves his single cuts, through and through. However, otherwise, hell yeah
The cost of an Evertune bridge, I think, would make the price go WAY up.
I’d buy that 😂
Just an important side note: to do something, the shielding needs to be connected to the ground.
If it's not connected to anything, it'll block just as much interference as a tinfoil hat would. ;-)
I was going to post the same thing, but no need now. Have my upvote!
Science!
umm i've heard that shielding has no actual benefit as for it to be effective, it would have to be a complete farraday cage which is not the case with guitar shielding

@@agufish I would, but i'm biased. however, i think it would be funny if he was super scary and metal, or on the opostie side of the spectrum super cute and maybe even wearing one of your other merch designs.

Honestly, you’re like the Michael reeves of guitar. Love that
Only if he next has the guitar shock him everytime he hits a perfect 5th.
Not enough crack though
The shielding on your cavity cover, or any shielding anywhere, needs to be grounded, otherwise it can often be doing more bad than good.
This is the high quality content I signed up for! Never stop making this series.
Pimped out evertune and a black winter on a hello kitty 7 string?
*sniff*... you magnificent bastard
The is the guitar police, hand it over
Agufish- *sees crappy guitar*
"It's free Real Estate'
Screw the Harley Benton singlecut, this is the REAL Agufish signature guitar 😆
I’m currently in the process of assembling a powder pink hello kitty bass!! I’ve sprayed it powder pink and my friend is giving it a custom hello kitty design. I intend to put entwistle neodymium pickups in to give it some real punch and grit!!
This is the kind of high intergrity content I come here for.
Maybe hit up warmoth for a neck? They've started upping their social media game in recent times.
A very unstable neck: *exist*
Evertune: Finally, a worthy opponent!

Wtf does "a very unstable neck:exist" even mean? Seriously. Nobody writes like that except all you dumbass meme reposters.

Strandburg Hello Kitty guitar
I lost it when I saw the Pink guitar come out of a schecter box inside a sterling box
The stock pickup and the SD winter sound so different!!! Wow!!!
The stock one sounds so flappy and shity, but the Duncan sounds so full and awesome!!!
I love your lack of f's given. Keep upgrading hello kitty guitars, man. I'll be cheering you on.
After many moons the hello kitty came together for a legendary axe
The hand painted pickguard is cute. It adds an actual human touch.
You should do a les Paul build from the stratosphere store.
Yes, that'd be awesome!
Except it would be more expensive than buying stock, and none of the parts are interchangable.Kinda defeats the purpose.
When a bridge cost three times what you paid for a whole guitar. Lol. But that's amazing. I would have thought that stick guitar was not salvageable. 11/10 would intergrity again.
Black Winters are some of my favorites. Really smooth sound for a metal pickup.
I love them. Surprisingly versatile and just so damn defined no matter how much tonal abuse in terms of distortion, fuzz and stuff you throw at them. By far my favourite "metal" pick up.
Hands down your best series. Change my mind.
Hunter, I love this series. As a modder myself, I get excited to see a piece of trash turn into a totally useable instrument. Keep it going my friend.
I bought a squier stagemaster VII and I’m beyond glad you did this video because most of the parts you used to upgrade I can use on the squier, thank you so much!

This channel and Ola are my faves👍
Thanks dude!
17:30 a Sterling box surrounding a Schecter box protecting a hello kitty guitar... easily the most sacreligious unboxing ever😂
I superlove this guitar! Pink is my thing, Hello Kitty just makes it even more cool. I would be proud playing that thing!
I think it has more intergrity than you can handle, Hunter.
You may have done this, but a tip for lining up the tuners: place a ruler or straightedge of some kind along the bottom edge of the tuners. It’ll straighten them all up with each other and then you can screw them in

Sounds so much better. One thing I don't understand is guitars with only a bridge pick up. I guess if you play mainly heavy rhythm guitar, it works.
I think it's funny that they think you would play calm or cute songs, but with one extra string... BIG! STEP! UP!!
I don't think I've ever heard such a drastic difference between two pickups before. Sounds good.
