Hi Tash. We just found your channel and appreciate it no end. Like Joe, I am Canadian too and appreciate those who want to learn. Canada is known for it's lakes and ponds, many of which freeze hard enough to skate on. However, certain people do freeze rinks on their property.
Dudley Do-right was supposed to be from my hometown. The Rocky and Bullwinkle show was set in Frostbite Falls, a fake version of theAmerican town I border called International Falls.
"Littlest Hobo". Shepard dog that traveled the country alone and helped people in trouble. Ran for years. There was also toddlers show that ran for years called "Hammy the Hamster". Had a story voice over as his daily visits to his friends, baby rabbits and mice and birds other young animals in a nature landscape. Had high production values for what it was.
Miss littlest hobo, plus Hammy and GP's adventures and Nick, Jesse and Relic from Beachcombers. Not to mention Louis from Seeing Things and Super Dave Osborne from Super Dave some good old Canuck TV😊
I live in British Columbia now but was born and raised in Toronto, and it's always fun watching a TV show or movie and realising it's filmed in my hometown. Movies like Scott Pilgrim, Cinderella Man, and the Fahrenheit 451 remake were all filmed in my neighbourhood! I love that you've become quite knowledgeable about Canada.
I used to be the audio guy at a college bar, Randy and lehay did a show there, they showed up in full charachter hours before the show and just hung out. it was hilarious.
one of our greatest international TV series hits is "Murdoch Mysteries". co-stars an Aussie actress as his wife. A Newfie character that is a real Newfie and the Newfie character he plays is an authentic representation.
Dave Thomas' brother Ian Thomas is a recognized musician with a string of hits. His music didn't transfer out of Canada well, but three of his songs were covered by some other big name acts.
Dave Thomas and his brother Ian Thomas are from Hamilton, Ontario. Their father was a philosopher professor at McMaster. Also from Hamilton: Eugene levy, Martin Short and I an Reitman. When I went to McMaster in 89/90 I took first year psychology. It was all on video. The second half of the year dealt with the DSM (diagnostic and statistical manual for mental disorders) the videos were in black and white and a young Martin Short was acting them all out! It was so great to see. Later my oldest son went to Westdale high school and they have hall of fame pictures and Martin Short is on one of them. Another fun fact is that when we moved into Westdale in ‘83 we lived down the street from Eugene Levy’s parents house.
Now how did I get to be so old without knowing those two were brothers? I've seen both of them live... Dave with Second City and Ian as part of Lunch at Allen's.
Trailer Park Boys is the best - especially for those of us who may have inhabited a trailer park once upon a time. That time when they broke into the animal shelter to bust all the kitties out, I almost died laughing.
Trailer Park Boys, from Dartmouth Nova Scotia...My People. Also Fun Fact. The guy who scooter the comic Scott Pilgrim got the name from a song by the Halifax Bamd Plumtree. They have a song called Scott Pilgrim and it was quite popular on college radio back in the late 90s and that where he heard it
An update: in a recent episode of "Star Trek: Strange New Worlds" (season 2, episode 3), it is revealed that the timeline has been altered, and that the arch-nemesis of Captain Kirk, Khan Noonien-Singh (originally played by Ricardo Montalban in a Trek episode and the film "Star Trek II: The Wrath Of Khan", is now, in fact, Canadian.
There is an Australian film called Spotswood with Russell Crowe and Toni Collette that I really enjoyed. It has a Canadian moment in the movie. See if you can find it.
Wolverine was created to be a Canadian, but once he became popular he was retconned into being American. Everything popular has to be American. Being Canadian was part of the reason he was in the X-Men. When they re-created the team in Giant-Size X-Men # 1 they wanted an international cast, so they added a German, a Russian, an Irishman, a Japanese, a Native American and an African (I'm still not sure what country Storm was supposed to be from). To add to the international flavour, Len Wein brought in Wolverine who had previously appeared in a Hulk story that brought him to Canada. Years later they re-wrote it so he was an American living in Canada who only thought he was Canadian. Boooo.
Its funny, even though it was set just a couple hours from i live. I never could get into the trailer park boys. That said, i don't watch very much television, have seen a few letter kenny episodes, same thing. Just not for me i guess. Hope everyone is taking care.
The way of worship is equal in Islam, Christian and Hindu! But India has more to offer from Vedas which is philosophy of way of living and thinking of happy loving family life & strengthening mind with scientific idol worship. But today’s idol worship in India must be practiced as scientific concentration to make mind powerful, progressive and sensitive (loving)!
You had every opportunity to post something about the video. Instead you chose political gaslighting. Sorry to everyone for the inconvenient duel of words. It was enjoyable to read through the comments of others. It’s unfortunate that in Canada, as everywhere, we have those outliers who would go to a concert and throw their phone at the performer.
@@SilvanaDil - In the US they don't just do black face like Virginia Governor Ralph Northam but have a long history of other cute customs like the Emmett Till story. Reference the song "Strange Fruit" by Billie Holiday for example.
7:51 "He's made a big duck out of the duct tape." -- That's a Canada goose.

before Red Green He and his wife (his producer) had a show called 'Smith and Smith'. Absolutely hilarious banter in their skits and standups.
Loved Smith & Smith when I was young. Essential viewing along with Bizarre.
Not sure where you are but the NHL will be playing a couple of preseason games in Melbourne next week.
Yes 2 american teams

Sesame Street was originally a Canadian show.
Can you explain that
I used to be the audio guy at a college bar, Randy and lehay did a show there, they showed up in full charachter hours before the show and just hung out. it was hilarious.
no matter what, Julian never spills his always present drink.
I really enjoyed your videos and comments plus seeing and learning more about the world around us
no mention of Schit's creek and Corner gas???

Put Strange Brew on your list👍
Oh and Superman was created by a Canadian

We gave our daughter the middle name of Anne, always saying Anne with an 'e' like Anne of Green Gables.
Trailer park boys are Canada’s best export 😂
We get a big laugh out of South Park here in Canada :)
You need to watch Shorsey, it's a spin-off from Letterkenny about hockey.
Wayne/Shorsey is great in two well written shows👍
Isn't Hugh Jackman, aka Wolverine, Australian?
Hi Tash Wolverine oh ya a must watch for you! That was so great to see, love trailer park boys too epic! Enjoyed watching with you, have a great day🫶

Deadpool is Canadian as well....
There was a artist from Nova Scotia called Maude Lewis. You might want to check her out.
Strange Brew is essential viewing. How they managed to get Max von Sydow in it is beyond me.
Royal Canadian Air Farce... Not Monty Python. Monty Python is British...
It is a Monty python skit that she played
plus they were polng fun at a BC lumberjack
how did the aussie's get their own sunnyvale documented in Houso's?
How is Deadpool not in the Top 10?
Tash, there must be five or six people in your list that I have never heard of or seen before. And I'm 66.

I really enjoyed Bob & Doug!
Tash, have you heard the story of our former Sergeant of Arms Kevin Vickers?
No will look into it
You'll have to visit PEI to visit the homestead of Lucy Maude Montgomery.
Yes I think our summer is the best time to visit.
keep your political comments out of here . Tash is bring us everything she likes about Canada yet you chose hate, love it or leave it I say
"Love it or leave it" isn't a political comment?
I must disagree, sorry. The best fictional characters are Bob and Doug. Nothing beats SCTV. Maybe "The Littlest Hobo" comes rather close. 🤔
I love SCTV too, but to be honest Bob and Doug was one of the least funny segments on the show IMO.
