- Shinagawa has been catering to travelers since the Edo Period when it was the first stop on the main road linking Tokyo with Kyoto. It’s also one of the busiest train stations in Tokyo.

My first job in Japan was with the Shinagawa Prince Hotel. I walked by that shrine every day. All of this is bringing back memories.
I'm always amazed with Satoshi's knowledge of his surroundings. He always knows what's here or there, where that path leads to, and so on.
Sometimes I even confused my left and right. Maybe it's because I'm an airhead.
Clean and peaceful as always
Loved this video. If I were able to travel to Tokyo this is exactly what would help me. You even described the video boards on the side of the tunnel walkway. There’s toning like this where I live. Especially the way the buildings merge with one another. And the lovely green shrine tucked away. I’d love to see what life is like for the persons who live in those little shrines.
I really enjoy walking around with you, and having you explain the sights, what they are, and how they've changed. It is as if I am visiting you. Thanks so much Shinichi. And thank you too Satoshi for your patience, it is always nice to see you in the videos.
Shinagawa is such a bright, open, and modern looking area, even though it's been a business center for 400 years. So sorry that the ramen street has closed! I hope the vendors all relocated successfully or found other lucrative ventures. It was a joy hearing your memories and learning about the area.
I would love to see Sengakuji Temple! The story of the 47 Ronin is a powerful and moving testament to loyalty and courage. It would be amazing to see their final resting place. If possible, I'd also like to see the Kubiarai Ido.
Thank you for taking us all on this walk on such a lovely day. It was fun to see Satoshi enjoying the planes so much. One day I'd like to hear more from him about his fascination with public transportation and maybe visit a transportation museum with him if there is one. I adored the video you did at the train café with Ai-san. Satoshi was so excited and in his element. 😊❤️
This is where we stayed when on tour with the Bavarian State Opera. We stayed in the New Takanawa Prince Hotel. On our last trip the hotel had been renovated and looked very modern. I was in Tokyo four times with them. I can't believe how empty the train station is. It was always packed when I was there.
My first trip to Japan I had an abnb close to Shinagawa Station on the keikyu line. After I dropped my stuff i wanted to explore. I went to shinagawa station at 5pm and i've never been so overwhelmed seeing a sea of salarymen & women in their business suits brisk walking back to the station. lol that was an experience. I miss Japan. Enjoying the vlogs!
Japanese cities and towns have very clean streets; even alley-ways are devoid of cluttered debris, litter and discarded garbage/refuse/trash. I’m looking forward to visiting Osaka in November for a week. I want to stay at a hotel close to a shopping mall, where I can purchase leather wallets/bags, kitchenware and Christmas gifts, etc.
Oh man, that train station was so airport-like. I should have been headed to Seattle right about now for a gathering with friends but it was cancelled. This video made me want to travel so bad!
Yes please 🙏 Shinichi we would like to see the shrine ⛩ for the 47 Ronin. It is an amazing place. We visited and paid our respects last time we visited Japan. ✌️ 💖 🙏 Levent 🦁
we’ve been there last year,Shinagawa aquapark 😍
Again you guys bring me sooo much peace you guys are my xanax when anxiety kicks in. Love you both sooo much respect 🙏
OMGoodness!! Yes please on the 47 Ronin!! It’s one of my favorite stories. 🥰
I actually really enjoy staying in Shinagawa. We always get a room at Shinagawa Prince. Although my wife and I aren't "old", we like that it's quiet and away from all the hustle and bustle of places like Shibuya, Shinjuku, etc. The station being right across the street is key. With access to the Yamanote line, and Shinkansen stop, you can get anywhere in Tokyo, relatively quickly. This really makes me miss going to Japan😢
We’ve stayed at the shinagawa prince & keikyu ex inn a bunch of times. We had a view of the station, & I remember sitting at the window seat & watching the last train depart, then most of the lights would go out. It was super relaxing ❤️
My last day in Tokyo, I had 7 hours to kill and I spent it in Shinagawa since it was close to the Haneda Airport. I saw a heck of a lot of suits. A great part of Tokyo overall.
I stay in Pacific Hotel near to Shinagawa Station in the late 90s for business trips. I always enjoy it especially the delicious food like Sashimi etc. . I can highly recommend a trip to Japan, its a beautiful country any the people are so polite. A visit to Harajuku and the Meiji Park is a must.
I used to live near Sengakuji Eki too! In 1989 and 1990 after I graduated from University here in the US, I worked at Hotel Takanawa for a year. Loved my little day trips on my days off-exploring the area and finding good food to eat! 😃
OMG! Yes please take us to visit the 47 Ronin! December 14th is the day they are celebrated I believe!💜🧡💛💚💙
Really enjoyed your random walk. Thanks for suffering in the heat for us.
Tell Satoshi to look for the Flightradar 24 app. He will love it.
I lived at Shingawa Prince Hotel for 1 week last year.... This video brought back so much memories.
I stayed at Shinagawa Prince Hotel 10 years ago! Thanks for the memories!
Thanks for another walk along, love all these videos
Your walks bring back a lot of memories. I like to explore when my wife is skating
I stayed at the Prince Sakura Tower hotel when I visited Tokyo the first time! So many memories from this station!!!!!
I plan on exploring this area when we can visit Japan again. Train station always looks amazing.
i love these walks, i feel i am traveling next to you! Thank you!!!
I’ve watched the movie 47 ronin. It was nice 👍
Fun to see ❗️
This video makes me happy :) Pre pandemic I was traveling to Tokyo frequently and the Shinagawa Prince hotel is always my home base in Tokyo. It’s good to see the area again!
Congratulations on 100,000!
Yes i would like to see the 47 Ronin shrine. Thanks again for the videos.
Thanks Shinichi , the Shinagawa place is beautiful
Enjoy watching this video as a future reference to visit about the Shinnagawa Station area. My plan had to be aborted in April due to the pandemic. Intended to have ramen at Shinatatsu so good to know it is has been permanently closed. Also was to go from one side of the Shinnagawa Station to the other to visit the Nikon Museum at the Shinnagawa Intercity. Delighted to have watch the video which shows the walk-through across the station.
It is 12 midnight and very warm. Hello from Mayaguez city Puerto Rico.
Always wanted to travel to Japan but I guess I will have to settle for seeing and experiencing Japan thru you. Thank you so much for the special way you explain every thing. You guys are so sweet.
You guys are so fun !
So excited to see you out and about being conscious of safety. Also nice to know Dean & Deluca is still there!
that would be very interesting to see the "47 Ronin" ...thank you for the walk around and nice to see that travel has started again...we're in fall right now and all the trees are changing lots of yellow and some red :) it's nice that you had company with Satoshi ....thank you for the video and look forward to the trek :) :)
I used to live in Yokohama and would often go to Shinagawa. I miss living there so much.
I'm loving all the greenery on the facades of the buildings and around! 🌱🌿 We need more of that in the world.
The shrine is beautiful! 🏯
I would love to see the temple you where talking about.
Outback Steakhouse reminds me of their amazing beverage named Strawberry Bull, which I was addicted to in Cali. 🍹
Satoshi would love to planewatch where I live, close to cologne airport. The planes fly reaaaaally low here. 🛬
Also, Frankfurt airport is just 1,5 hours away. They have amazing visitors spots on the rooftops.
Hi Shinichi and Satoshi how you doing good to see you guys thanks for sharing this walk with us be safe take care 😘❤️
I’ve been there! I really miss Japan. When everything is back to normal My first flight would be in Japan. I love watching your vlogs about Japan. Thanks for sharing. Stay safe.
Cold, windy and rainy here in uk today. I'm enjoying your sunshine ☀️. Love to see the 47Ronin please. 🙂
Yes please make a video about the 47 Ronin statues/temple! Thank you!
I used to be on business trips to Tokyo around 1995 to 2000. Shinagawa Prince is one of my favorite hotels to stay. So good to see the place around the Shinagawa station again. It has changed a lot. I still remember the elliptic shaped building near the end of the video. I see you were sweating all over. Thanks a lot. Will look for your other videos.
Saved me a trip to ramen street. It was a great after-beers go-to place as some of the shops there had outdoor seating.
Love much this video.. please explore about Shinagawa area, it was remind me when i got holiday in japan(several years ago), we stayed in Prince Hotel2, but we didn’t have much time to explore around Shinagawa☹️.
Thanks for the great video! I had stayed at the Shinagawa Tobu Hotel near that Outbacks Steakhouse about 12 years ago when I was visiting over night. That's so crazy 😂 it was dark and late and couldn't explore... Hey Satoshi and Shinichi, It's Francis from your American Ramen box.
yes yes shinichi san bring us see the 47 ronin pls
Traffic is going really fast on that street looks like a fun place to go !
Hi from the Philippines✈️Love you guys❤️❤️❤️
Unfortunately, I was late for the stream. But it was fun to look at. Above all, the Blind Guideline was very interesting. (As far as I know, it is also called Braille_Blocks or Tenji_Blocks in Japan.)
Did you know that it was also a japanese man who invented this blind_line? The inventor was Miyaki-san, Miyaki Seiichi. He did it for a severely visually impaired friend who was about to go blind. Mr. Miyaki funded the development with his private money. That was in 1965. Over the years it has spread around the world.
Thank you very nuch for showing it to us!
I am definitely interested in the 47 Ronin! I love history. 😊 ...Yay food! Lol Wow..that is so amazing..the fake food is so neat!...lol hot and bothered..Poor Satoshi. My nephew loves trains and buses..actually he likes tractors and cars too. Lol...I love the lady's skirt behind you. Pretty color and pattern. I've noticed a lot of ladies wearing long skirts. Very pretty. 😊 Yes it does look like an airport. Long walk. I would be so out of breath. Having asthma sucks so bad...I love your walks..makes me feel like I am there. Thank you so much for sharing.
New sub from sunny and rainy PH 🇵🇭. Same here with regards the airplanes, we live near the airport and we are used to hearing them. I must say I miss the noise... Thanks for the enjoyable walk, the narration makes it more interesting but tiring for you 😃...
I am walking while I am watching you, I want to be there 😮😘
Hello you 2 lovelies ❤️ Again such an interesting vid. I really like that when the traffic light turns green for pedestrians, there is the bird chirping sound. We should have that here in Munich. We only have sometimes a buzzing sound 😑 ...love and greetings 😘 PS: please tell us about the 47 Ronin ..
It still seems really vacant! Were there more people before COVID-19?
I love publi transportation toooooo, i would love to jsut talk about it with Shinichi sometime
Thanks for showing Shinagawa. Yes to 47 Ronin!!
Nice 1 Sinichi.
yes, i would love to see the temple of the 47 ronin. please go there.
YES SHINICHI! Please! I wanna see where the 47 Ronins are buried! I love their story. I didn't know it was located in Tokyo, therefore I missed a visit!
Miss Shinagawa station, always go to the basement market ...
I really enjoyed this video. I have lived in London for quite a few years, although I was born in a small seaside town on the east coast. If I had the chance to move to any other city I think it would have to be Tokyo, although I also love Kyoto, being a kabuki, Geisha and Oiran fan. As cities go it looks so clean and well organised. Yes, I have watched a fair few Kabuki performances including the 47 Ronin. As I am now 71 it is very unlikely that I will do much travelling, but if I had one wish it would be to spend my remaining years in Japan. However Japanese seems to be a very difficult language when one is not born to it? Maybe if I could find a pen pal over there he or she could give me a few pointers re the language? Thanks again, and I will continue to watch your videos and pretend I am there ha ha .....
Greetings from the Midwest America 🇺🇸
Shinichi, do you remember the anna miller's by pearlridge in Hawaii? its still there.
If things were normal I would be headed to Japan today, and I generally stay at the Shinagawa Prince. So thank you so much for this video. At least I can get a view of it.
You know about Ecute Shinagawa I'm sure - that would be a good thing for visitors to Shinagawa who are interested in food to know about.
I remember Anna Miller's in Hawaii at Pearlridge. Is it still there? I hope so. Would love to go when I finally visit my parents.
Greetings from Perth
It's only about 7:45 am here in Toronto so the sun is just rising at the moment. I think it's supposed to be under 20C today so it's going to be a bit cool. I'm just doing some assignments at the moment.
I saw the movie, I can't remember the Japanese title, but it translated to The 47 Faithful Retainers. I remember that Toshiro Mafuni was in it.
Fall here in Connecticut , USA
That is sad. I was looking forward to a restaurant review. Fall temperatures. Morning is about 45 Fahrenheit.
Hey Shinichi, don't know what you did use to film this video but you should probably tune up the frame rate (to avoid the flashing neon signs) 🙂
I been there in shinagawa I was Anna Miller's, we have Anna Miller's here in Hawaii too, wait you lived in hawaii?
Hi from England 🇬🇧
Yes, I would like to see the 47 Ronin. There is a movie with Keanu Reeves, Hiroyuki Sanada, Min Tanaka, and others that's called 47 Ronin... Thank you
Dam shame about the ramen hall closed down wonder if that was part of the train line area renewal
Or the virus doing damage again!!! ?
P.s satoshi loves the walking!!! 😂
Is it still hot there? Today when I left work around 1pm it was 57 degrees and breezy...now it’s raining horribly and hailing
How many hats does Satoshi have ? Favorite ?
Hello Shinichi, I'm held up in a hotel do to a to a house fire. I should relocate to a apartment on Thursday. Much love buddy .
Also I commented a little early in the video. Hello Satoshi
I think City Bakery has the best American style chocolate chip cookies in Tokyo! What do you think?
You wore out Satoshi again 😱
What kind of camera do you use for these videos?
I’ve been using my GoPro
つばめグリル❗I love Hamburg steak Tsubame Grill restaurant 👍It's really delicious ❗This restaurant ... there is in Takashimaya Department Store at Shinjuku.

Ai-neesan アイ姉・ I have never been to that location. Maybe I will see you at one someday
5:20 how does anyone traffic nervous get around? Crossing for lane roads makes me jumpy just seeing some of the roads in the video makes me want to say nope and start looking for another safer way to get there.
Shinagawa - the area where foreign workers renew their visas
Gutted about the Ramen shop's.
Go and have coffee or tea break Shinichi san..
...whenever Shinichi is not alone, he seems to be stressed out and rushed by Satoshi😨😩...so these walks make me feel agitated as well, not a fun experience...so better walk and ride alone, those vlogs are relaxed, interesting and fun 😊
Hi guys sorry having a Wolf Blast Shirakawa catch up next time 😎
やっぱり人が少ないね🙄何か寂しい😔
Satoshi hot and tired. Yall not as young as you used to be. Stay hydrated.
