I'll never get over the fact that this album starts with the line 'Don't you think that it's boring how people talk?' and ends in the line 'Let them talk.'
Ribs really is a song that makes you reflect on your life and how it feels uncomfortable getting older. Turning 27 this year so it hits home even more although I was a teen when this album came out. Crazy how time flies man
Yeah, same boat, but I turn 28 this year. Like you can’t believe time really flies, that youthfulness we truly miss. I get it. Life don’t stand still so we gotta move on, it’s hard but we have to, we got this🙏🏽
the production goes crazy on this, it’s very weeknd adjacent in that it’s sound was ahead of it’s time. i love the minimal production, 808’s & melodies on this thing. what a nostalgic coming of age record, it immediately takes me back to high school
Ribs is absolutely my favorite song. I got the chance to see her live for her Solar Power Tour and just the experience of dancing and singing that song live with everyone was just amazing.
I love the comparison between Ribs and Ivy, Frank Ocean and Lorde are my fav music artists and I've never made the connection between those songs! Amazing reaction
This album is a hard listen for me now. It reminds me so much of highschool because of all the memories made while listening to it. I live on the other side of the US from where I grew up and family and friends reside because the best way for me to move forward in my career is the be where I am now. I love my life now but I miss home every once in a while.
I completely get it. When I was listening to Buzzcut Season, it just reminded me of my freshmen year of undergrad and I got mad nostalgic, like damn time really flew by. Crazy part is, 5 years from now we’re gonna think the same thing, always. Gotta live in the now and make memories to appreciate for our future selves
this album is one of my earliest memories of music. it was with pure heroin that i learned that artists make albums and it was also my first introduction to alternative music. good pick :)
Context is everything! When _'Pure Heroine"_ was released in 2013, it influenced and changed pop music with its subject matter, tone, sparse electro beats and minimalism. She really doesn't get the credit she deserves in that regard.

Oou nice, didn't pick that up, I like that
It’s so crazy how lorde wrote and created this album at just 16

Thank you🙏🏽 I like when artists talks about it and execute it in a way to make you feel nostalgic. We need a new Frank Ocean album
