- Side Story 23: Have a wonderful holiday! I've always loved the tracks that roverdriveX did for calamity so I decided to cover R'LYEH with a mix of my own and DM's style. This song will be in VCMM but it is by default off so you will have to turn it on in the config if you want to hear it. I hope you all enjoy!

Well, I can't decide which theme i like more: this one or the official one.
If i got it right, this theme is focused on showing how dangerous the deep abyss is, while the official theme's idea is to give the vibes of mysterious and frightening place.
In my opinion, both of these themes fit the biome really well.

I feel like the void gives off much more the feeling of “you really shouldn’t be here”, but this one gives off a much more “there is extreme danger here”
Void gives vibes of literally falling into the very Darkness, while this one gives feeling that you are now strong enough to descend to the bottom layer and grab Terminus
As an ambient track, I prefer Void, but I feel like this could be a boss theme, maybe for AEW

This is an amazing remix while still giving the fear that the original theme had. but to me it feels like the intense part of the abyss after polterghast has been defeated. Awesome remix my friend.
This should be for the Death Mode Abyss, like with blood moon. Imagine if they reworked it so that the mini bosses in DM would attack you no matter what, it’d make the theme much more enticing and encourage the fights rather than just avoiding them
But at the same time, being stealthy and picking your fights is a key part of the abyss, and then that coating thing and similar would kind of be useless.
@@ericphillips8268 feels like the devs removed a lot of death mode exclusive events, such as lightning when it rained or tundra’s icicles. If the bloodmoon can be an absolute shitfest then it stands to reason that the environment should be as brutal as what ‘Death Mode’ sounds like lol
@@melancall5960 Brutal can still be fair, although without cheese Deathmode Blood Moons are anything but. I'd be just fine if they made abyss stealth harder to do, but removing it is a bad idea imo.
@@ericphillips8268 that was also a while ago, it would make the abyss pretty shit for lower-powered players in the mid game, so I don’t really follow that idea anymore. Start-game DM bloodmoon is actually still pretty fun with just a cloud-and-a-bottle and Amidias’ Trident
Lowkey this has a more intense and spooky kinda feel to it I honestly like this more than r’lyeh because it just feels like a scarier deeper level of the abyss

only thing I don't like about this, is how it sounds like a boss song. I LOVE the original for it's very mysterious, lonely vibe that it gives off. It's still a great song, but I feel like it would fit more to an abyss boss fought in this area.
