I don't know, there are some painful hard edges worth avoiding on the way down on 49ers not to mention sail panels.
49ers r pretty well known for going the full way on a pitchpole. if it pivoted the other way, he would have been right in the path of the wing-o-tine.
to avoid busting sails when capsizing they do the overkill jump lol
