    *UPDATE: 04/12/24*
    I made a small mistake in the video, there will be TWO N Class services NOT one on weekdays. Although these will still be at inconvenient times (after 8pm from Melbourne to Warrnambool) and in the morning from Warrnambool. Weekends will remain the same as said in video, with only one N set in each direction.
    This video marks the final 1732 up weekend service, on the final day of majority N class operation on the Warrnambool Line, from the 1st of December 2024, the Warrnambool Line is mostly ran by VLocities, displaying a historic shift in the line’s rolling stock. There were celebrations for the first day of majority VLocity services on the 1st at Warrnambool, although I did not visit that day.

    Glad to see this one still ran. A bunch of us Gunzels went on the Friday service as there was rumours about this one being a Vlocity. Great video!

    This marks the end of an era for traditional train travel and a step backwards in the name of progress. The Vlocity is the future and the loss of amenities and jobs is the cost. Does the SG service to Albury have a buffet?
    Excellent video, well done Harry 👍👏

      Well said! The SG VLocity is the only VLocity with a buffet, as well as usb ports. Why they didn’t just create more of these on broad gauge for the other long distance V/Line routes is beyond me.

      @hazptmedia Unfortunately it always comes down to cost with the taxpayers paying for the build and also losing jobs in the process. The bean counters fail to realise that fewer people are wanting to travel when you take away the very drawcard and reduce the incentives for rail travel. The SG Vlocity could have replaced the XPT's and Explorer services if only the 2 governments collaborated to provide the jobs and the trains at a much reduced cost.

      I did a trip to Colac and back on the last day, riding the 6:55am service to Colac and the 1:02pm service from Colac.

    the N class trains have been very good through the years and i have travelled on these to Warnambool and back to Melbourne as far as i know the new velocity trains have or could be having the buffet car well I would hope so from travelling on both the velocity and the N class you should enjoy travelling on the new trains any one who hasn't travelled on a velocity yet do so you will be impressed

    • @hazptmedia
      @hazptmedia  Місяць тому

      Yeah I’m a bit sad to see the N class go, unfortunately VLocity services on the Warrnambool Line don’t have buffets, and the only VLocities that have them are Standard Gauge, running on the Albury Line into NSW.

    Is this the final ever n class service on the warrnambool line?

    • @hazptmedia
      @hazptmedia  Місяць тому

      Good Question, No, I explained in the video that there will still be one service from Melbourne to Warrnambool late at night, and a morning service from Warrnambool run by N sets. Although all other services will be VLocity service.

    Nothing to celebrate about vlocity railcars running most Warrnambool services a downgrade and a step backwards not suitable for long distance journeys uncomfortable seats less room. Less room for suitcases and other luggage no first class no blinds and other issues

    • @hazptmedia
      @hazptmedia  Місяць тому +2

      They should really make more long distance vlos (Albury Line) for these longer distance routes.

    this is good video, but the suggestion that it is the final N class service, is rubbish. Go check out the new Vline MTP you will be very surprsied.

      Apologies for any confusion, I never said it was the final N class service (ever), although it is the final afternoon N class service: i mentioned this in the video at 0:35 stating that there will still be one morning service from Warrnambool to Melbourne, and one late night service from Melbourne to Warrnambool. This marks the end of majority N class running on the Warrnambool line, not the final N class service ever, but certainly the historical end of a locomotive hauled dominated service, a pivotal shift in the lines history.
