@Less Is More Apologizing to someone who isn't ready to hear it doesn't count. Kara needed time to process that Lena was not only back in her life, but ready to discuss what happened. Lena's apology didn't negate Kara's own inner anger. Until she let it out, she could never move past it. Lena wisely didn't argue, she took it and let Kara vent.

Melissa’s acting was amazing. She never talked down to Lena. She clearly didn’t even want to express everything she was feeling because there was a long pause and an evident “is being honest worth it” internal battle. The entire speech is about trust. And so it becomes the question does she deserve my honesty and vulnerability. Or maybe I’m wrong, but I doubt it. Kara is the big person willing to wear her heart on her sleeve. Friendship or romantically. I love good dialog.
They finally having it out that is so deep in personal and intimate when cars that you hurt me make no mistake they are going to be together they are friends sisters for life but their relationship has been tested and it survived but I also see themvery intimate with each other it's going to happen it's got to happen and I think it's going to be something that's going to affect both of their lives and they're both going to realize that they are so close 😭 intimately and when it happened it's going to change them forever and I believe that's going to be that first kiss 💋 and I believe it's going to happen when they both look at each other in the eyes and realize they're good for each other.that happened on the soap opera two lady friends who didn't realize they both was in love with each they were not gay ❤️#otalia

But yes that is true but when it's all sitting done Lena belongs to her no if and or but Lena is the reason she became a reporter she didn't have a clue about how to go about proceeding a career she wasn't motivated but she meant Lena and her whole world changed and I mean it changed Lena was a big influence on her career choice When she's with Lena they accomplish miracles they do thing that never been done before Elena Luther and a super then changed the world That was the original agreement that they would change the world and they seal that friendship with a handshake and so far in the Supergirl and universe they pretty much accomplished it.
Kara’s reaction just reminded me that everyone knew that Lena NEEDED Kara as a friend (which is why Lena was so upset when Kara ‘betrayed’ her), but we all forgot that Lena was also Kara’s best friend and that Kara also NEEDED Lena as a friend.

is for that what lena follow supergirl to find william, because she knows and feel that now her job is protect kara. I think that in this episode lena realise how much she like be in Supergirl team, and all is just for her, because they both bring out the best in themselves when they work together. #supercorp.

I loved Karas reaction tbh. Because she kept bringing herself down and thinking it was her fault she kept saying “it’s all my fault, it’s all my fault. But I feel like here she realizes that she never did anything wrong and just hearing her saying “you never even understood that I kept my identity to protect you” makes me so proud. I loved that she stood up to Lena. Because I was tired of seeing her bring herself down
Kara needed this to heal, she still blamed herself, but she lost faith in Lena and she swore not to do I think she feels some guilt for that and had to let this out cause it was eating her up

Think know why your hurt cuz while Kara had ever right say what she need to say. Deep down u also know that Kara is wrong about it being one mistake. Remember this all started way back in Season 3 where as Supergirl she was angry with Lena about having and making weapons that could have been used against her.
This where Lena counter & said what was her real name when Supergirl said she don't like secrets.
From there as Supergirl created mistrust with Lena while still being friends as Kara.
Conclusion more than 1 mistake. She played her as well not intentionally but she still play her with her duality and that can be dangerous too

Finally, this needed to be done. Yes, Kara was in the wrong for keeping Lena at a distance and not giving her the trust Lena rightfully earned over those three years. But Lena also overreacted to learning Kara's secret to the extent of DELIBERATELY wanting Kara to suffer. A friend hurt you accidentally and incidentally? That's bad, but that's no justification to hurt them back on purpose.

“How about the times you hurt me?” Melissa killed it in this scene you can actually hear the hurt in her voice, breaking apart because of all what Lena put her through. I’m glad Kara finally said something, I’ve been waiting all season long.

I have been waiting forever for Kara to tell this speech to Lena. As Supergirl, Kara always tries to be the bigger person, but sometimes she needs to dish out some hard truths in order for people to see sense.
This was such a POWERFUL and EMOTIONAL scene that needed to happen.

Totally agree. In the first episode of season 5, Kara did tell Lena the truth. And even after that Lena still went out of her way to punish Kara. Don't get me wrong, I felt bad for Lena. And it cannot be easy given her background with the Luthors. But Kara did tell her, her secret before she knew Lena actually found out from Lex during the previous season. So kudos to Kara for finally standing up to Lena

Lena may have been incredibly brilliant, but she was still human. Made wrong choices & poor judgement, just like any other human.
She also had the disadvantage of being raised by a toxic family, who tried to turn her into something she wasn’t. Not to mention, she found out Kara was Supergirl in the worst possible way
That is true but that doesn't make Kara's rant any less justifiable. She made one mistake to protect her while Lena knowingly tried to hurt her. It's a tough moment this scene, but both needed to get it off of their chest. Lena spoke her peace back at the Fortress of Solitude and Kara here.

You know what I just realised would have been a funny/intense/awkward/embarrassing way of Lena finding out Kara was supergirl - if one of the times they hung out together Lena had kryptonite in her bag and went they went to hug or something Kara kinda stumbled/fainted because of the kryptonite.
That pause of disbelief and hurt before she said "you... you used kryptonite on me" broke my heart. Kara really went through some pain.
I understand Lena felt betrayed but she didn't have to go overboard like that

@@theirishhero81 The confrontation is ovee from both their parts..kara made a bad mistake..she apologised to lena for that for most of the first half of the season...and lena made mistakes too..and she apologised now...i know kara has been a hypocrite many times including when she used myriad..instead of asking lena for help..but lena was wrong on several aspects too..they are bound to clash because they have very different ways of seeing things..they both consider their way to be the right way..but they care for each other...and kara never had one doubt that lena is scheming behind her back in this(even after lena betrayed her in the first half of the season) after lena said she is sorry..kara was not blaming lena in this..she was talking about the hurt lena put her through..this shows that though kara is supergirl she has very human nature...who can't just forgive so easily though someone should be forgiven..i too believe that kara shouldn't have called lena a villain though...
Philip McClelland I really feel like if Supergirl show wasn’t moved from CBS to CW network it wouldn’t be so bad. Like the first two seasons were amazing on on CBS then it moved to CW it’s just choppy af. You are right about the writers as well they seem to forget what storyline they’re on or don’t even collaborate at all. Like you write this.. in the next few episodes I’m going to write the opposite of what that character said. It’s very lazy on their part. Kara and Lena character has so many missed opportunities to be better.

Exactly. Like I get that Lena's extreme reaction to Kara lying was rooted in her relational trauma. But knowing that does not excuse the behavior nor does Kara need to be a place to forgive Lena. All that really tells us is that Lena has the capacity to heal and grow past those issues. We can only hope that Lena can rebuild the relationships that have been broken due to her actions.

@@lessismore8533 Kara kept a secret. Lena was actively trying to harm her and worked with her evil brother to cause great harm. Yeah, so I'm gonna say no. It doesn't go both ways. Lena specifically has a lot of work to do to repair her relationships. It was horrible for Kara to do what she did. When Lena read Kara for filth at the fortress of solitude, I was right there with her. Like Lena did really beg over and over and over and over again to not violate her trust, and she did it anyway. It was misguided and caused more damage, but was never malicious. Lena on the other hand, can't say the same thing.
To be clear, just because Kara didn't mean to hurt Lena doesn't mean Lena needed to forgive Kara. Absolutely not. I certainly wouldn't. She has a right to be mad at Kara, she however doesn't have the right to harm Kara because of the hurt she is in. Plus her trying to get back at Kara, ended up putting a lot of people in danger. That is a whole different set of problems she has introduced. So it is on Lena to do the work to show that, she will not wreak that kind of havoc again.
Totally unrelated, but it’s like Kara never works at CatCo anymore. We’ve been looking at her personal life and her superhero life but we get so few shots of Kara actually reporting. I missed that feeling from Season 1 and 2.

But Kara’s reporter side took a major role in S4 (even more than S2 in my opinion). It seemed like they would continue with that at the beginning of this season with the Pullitzer award and Andrea taking over Catco storyline, but we all know what happened with S5b haha 😅

i felt so bad for Kara the whole time. even before lena knew, she didn't know how to tell her, because she knew what she had went through. honestly Kara is the best friend that Lena could have had. Because the whole time she didnt want to make lena feel betrayed, thats why she never told her. Lena found out in the worse way possible, but putting Kara through that just because she didnt tell her to she could keep her safe, was wrong. I feel bad for Lena but she shouldnt have done all those things to Kara.

😲Kara went clean OFF on Lena, and rightly so. Actions have consequences. And Lena needed to understand how her vindictive actions hurt Kara deeply. Lena seemed genuinely remorseful. They kept it 100...(overused phrase but applicable)
I hope she is because if we find out that she's double crossing the superfriends to work with her family after that she doesn't deserve deserve kindness
I think Kara's been feeling this way since Lena told Kara the truth about how she felt. Kara was shocked for two different reasons: Her best friend had tried to hurt her, and her best friend was angry Kara hadn't told her about being supergirl earlier. Kara's shock about Lena's anger was stronger than her own anger which is why she didn't express her indignity earlier, and than when she forgave herself for her mistake with not telling Lena, her own anger grew stronger. That is my guess about what happened psychologically for Kara, and as sad as it is, I'm not sure that there is a better way that Kara could have let it out. If anything, every other way she could have told Lena off that I can think of, was much much more dangerous for the friendship.

This scene teaches people that even if you hurt someone they don’t have the right to use that as an excuse to hurt you repeatedly.
Lena was a prisoner to her own guilt. Until she learned and realized what it's like being in Kara's position.
As much as Kara is right about everything, Lena's guilt shown in her face is sad.
I relate supercorp to my ex crush. I am Kara and she is Lena, (even though we both have glasses like Kara, no joke. ) She has no soul. And my ex crush ghosted me like Lena did to kara and just turned cold.

Katie was brilliant in this. Make no mistake, this scene was Melissa Benoist at her best this was her moment to shine. But it's Katie's non-verbal reactions that solidify this scene. After Kara said "and all you did was hurt me in every way imaginable", Lena nods her head in agreement. That gesture was brilliant. It's a of Katy was telling us that Lena was accepting the anger. Up until this point, Lena was justifying her actions. Even when she apologized, she still felt like the lie justified what she did. But that head nod after Kara expressed her pain, that was Lena saying "yeah, I did that, I hurt you, and I'll never do it again". To be fair, Lena never EVER got angry with Kara again. Watch all of season 6 and you'll see, Lena calmly explains herself to Kara when she disagrees, she never EVER let's her anger dictate her actions with Kara again.
i love love love how Kara stopped apologizing and she stood up for herself and explained why she lied to her.
I know that Lena needed to be called out for the shit she pulled, but Kara was being hypocritical here. At the beginning of the season she admitted that keeping her identity from Lena wasn't protecting her it was hurting her, and the protecting excuse doesn't really matter cause Lena's life is already in constant danger, do people forget the amount of times that Lena's been assassinated without knowing Supergirl's identity. She was literally assassinated not once but twice in the first episode we see her! So the protecting excuse, bullshit.

She did pretend to be her friend, but when push came to shove, she didn't reveal the secret. She would have, but I remember the scene where Kara did finally reveal the secret, Lena almost cried and not for the reason Kara thought. You could see it on Lena's face, she was moved by how Kara explained it. She almost wanted to forgive her right there, but by that point, she had already started certain things moving and was to stubborn to back peddle. But you could see, she did regret at that moment. So she chose not to give the proof to Andrea

That's probably because it was just a building and nothing else. Buildings, like any objects can be torn down and destroyed just as easily as they are created but the human spirit and soul cannot be. The DEO building didn't define any of them.
I liked how Kara did not immediately let Lena off the hook. She was going to have to do something serious to prove herself.
Those two gals have an AMAZING chemistry. In this season they are AWESOME! How their story evolves, all their scenes in this season, is the highlight of season 5 for me.
I have realized something something I've never seen before while watching season 3+4 for the first time but now rewatching it I came to realize that kara also made mistakes she hurt her best friend I know I know she did not mean to but she did hurt her especially when Lena was using the kryptonite to help stop reign kara didn't see it that way and that speech that Lena gave ; "a thousand of things could kill me supergirl ...you really do have a God complex"made me see from her point of view and you know what she is right I don't know what is it with Kryptonians and kryptonite but kara was two-faced with Lena it was the first time kara has made a mistake I guess Monel was right after all when he said "you are not selfless Kara Zorel" BUT the thing about Kara is that she always comes arround she did realize how big of a mistake she made and she did the right thing when she confessed to lena the truth and this reminds me of what her mother said to her at first season : "you have the heart of a hero"and she does.

Like I said, I didn’t want to type it over and over again, because it was long. And I posted it on comments from people who didn’t believe they were both wrong, that Lena was wrong and Kara was right, that Lena was a villain and Kara was the victim.
Lena needed to hear this. Every word that had to be said now that she was willing to listen. Kara had a point to make and it took Lena acting as if all is forgiven to bring it to the surface. Her secret was meant to protect everyone around her from being used as potential targets by her enemies. But all Lena could see was personal betrayal and she allowed her brother to manipulate the narrative to push her in that direction. Everything from that point forward were her own choices. She, herself, chose to lie, manipulate, and use the woman that still saw her as her best friend to avenge her wounded pride. At this point she does not deserve full forgiveness, but at least a chance to get back what she threw away. (And Kara was generous enough to do that in spite of the pain she caused.) At least in this sense she has more maturity than her brother in any incarnation. But these two have a long way to go before they are on a level of friendship and trust that they had before. Kara made this clear when she said she can't give her absolution. At this point, they may be allies, but they are in no way the friends that they were and she is only tolerating Lena. She was doing everything she could in her power to be fair and allow Lena to atone for her actions that led everything to this. But I'm glad that she got to put her in her place and let her know that it's not just about Lex or her stolen tech. It was time to stop using her brother as a excuse for the level of betrayal that she committed. It was time to stop dodging accountability.
Finally...it took us an entire season to get to this point, but finally Kara calls Lena out on all her hypocrisy. And Lena fully realised and accepted the truth of her actions.
More awesome performances from Melissa and Katie. And I’m pleased that they finally worked through all their issues and can move forward together for Season 6.

This scene is great they really need that talk, I hate hearing Kara saying that towards Lena but she definitely right, I know Kara made one big mistake even of all her efforts to apologize to Lena but Lena cage her in krytonite, but I'm happy now as long as they are good now. I love how Lena actually listened to what Kara was saying now that she knew Kara was right about Lex. And then when Supergirl started talking about when Lena was using her, the ssame thing thing that Lena thought she was doing to her, that really got me
the way this season ended with both understanding Kara and Lena's side is the best thing that they've done. 😭
I don't go here anymore, but the "you used kryptonite on me" at 2:24 reminds me of the "she lied to me" about Kara's mom from season 1. Not exactly the same timbre of anguish and hurt as back then, but similar, if less intense.
Sidenote: Lena looks so much like a kicked puppy after that line...
Now Lena has to admit she had that coming from Kara after all she's done since betraying her.
I think that has to be the best scene Supergirl has ever produced, and one of the best scenes in the Arrowverse period.

Ive watched this so many times and it never gets easy seeing there faces makes your heart break
While I like that Kara also gets things off her chest, this is pretty gaslight-y, she didn't make ONE mistake. She kept Lena in the dark for YEARS, while everyone in their friendgroup knew. It wasn't to "protect" her. Kara was just afraid of the consequences of her lies at one point. Plus Lena KILLED her brother for Kara. I'm not saying that any of the things she did in return were right, and the line about Lena hurting her a lot in return makes sense but not the one where she tries to play off her own mistake as something she did to protect Lena. Plus we all knew how important trust was for Lena and she trusted Kara for so many years.

What made this scene powerful was that i think up until this point, Lena felt like she was the one forgiving Kara. I'm not sure Lena really saw that it was her that needed to earn forgiveness. I'm not saying Lena thought she was blameless, but i think in her mind once she was over the betrayal, her and Kara could rebuild. This scene made Lena actually see the damage her actions did. This time Kara wasn't crying, want trying to explain our defend her actions. No this time Kara was confident, clear spoken, and angry. Lena could see how badly Kara was hurting from Lena's choices. I don't think Lena knew until now how dark she had truly become until Kara stripped away all the excuses and plainly displayed the cause and effect of Lena's actions. I also think that Lena saw Kara was done trying and that was all the wake up call Lena needed.

This scene was definitely necessary. But I'm really confused when Kara said "I made one mistake". Lena begged Kara OVER AND OVER again, every season to not betray her trust, to not lie to her. We all can't act like Kara hasn't done questionable things during their relationship. She may have defended her, but she also had her friends look into her, behind her back. Had James lie to Lena about sneaking at her work. There were so many situations where Kara needed to tell her, especially when alternate Lena was upset about the Reign situation. She needed Supergirl/Kara there & couldn't tell her because she didn't know Kara was Supergirl. Lena has done questionable things during this season that shouldn't be forgiven, but this isn't the first time Kara's friends had used kryptonite on her. She didn't yell at J'onn for it back in S4, he's like another father figure to her. I'm just saying, they both made mistakes that they needed to apologize for.

Everyone that knows Kara is supergirl is in the path of danger every day so she tried to protect Lena by not telling her she did it to protect her and than when Lena found out she over reacted she used Kare more than once she lied to her more than once and as soon as she got what she wanted she used the 2 things that hurt most kryptnite and there friendship. She used the trust kara had in her to get into the fortress of solitude and than used the one thing that could stop Kara to steal from her. So the way I see it Lena was in the wrong

Kara said a lot of harsh things to Lena, not intentionally but it was the truth. It broke my heart to see Lena's sad and guilty expression.
Lena completely made a fool out of Kara & betrayed her for nothing. Betraying a real friend is NO GOOD AT ALL. Lena thought she could rid of her pain will you can't like that.
