      Penn and Teller have a rule - they only reveal obvious secrets (that have been around for an age, and you can get in any kid's magic kit) or secrets they have invented themselves. They won't reveal other magician's secrets, because that's their livlihood.

    It's a shame to choose Oz Pearlman because he doesn't claim to be psychic or have any supernatural powers. He's actually a humble and likeable man providing entertainment. Far better to aim your criticisms at people like Lior Suchard who claims to really have fake powers like spoon-bending. Those types of charlatans deserve to be exposed.

      Could have multiple recorded messages so that at least one judge would be pretty much guaranteed to have a reasonable guess.

    • @Chazim76
      @Chazim76 8 років тому +76

      The video isn't important. You notice he never said in the video that there was 325 gumballs in it. He just said that she was off by 2. So if we take your number 5 and he would just write 3 on the paper inside the envelope and the video would still be right.

    • @Korajiyo
      @Korajiyo 8 років тому +102

      Chazim76 except if I look at the gumball jar I can count more than 3 or 7 gumballs.

    • @Chazim76
      @Chazim76 8 років тому +13

      Missed Lethal I know but I am just using your example and if he wanted to use that number he could have. Or picked another number from a different judge that was more realistic. You can see Oz write the number 327 when he stood behind the host. If you look closely you can see him writing it. So the video would always be right because the only number that mattered was the one that he wrote down...

    So not a fan of how they treated Oz, an incredible professional, pressing him to reveal his secrets and then trying to decode his trick like this.
    OBVIOUSLY, it's not real magic. There's no such thing and Oz isn't claiming to be a wizard. I felt this was very rude and unprofessional way to treat a seasoned performer. I'm a magician too, and that's how I expect eight-year-olds to act, not adults, and definitely not on television.

      There's the guy who climbs on the chair to take down the envelope. He switches that envelope with one in which he has a paper in which he wrote the answers as he heard them from the audience. Note that the video does not linger on him taking down the envelope but cuts to where she is taking out the piece of paper.

      FYI the masked magician didn’t expose as many secrets as you’d think. He showed some possibilities on how some effects could be done, but nothing performed by major acts. I guarantee if you went to see David Copperfield, none of what he showed would help.

It's just shameful how she was questioning about how she thought the tricks were done. She made the interviews all about her and not the fact that Oz has been working his entire life to learn these skills.
    After a show we magicians want to hear we have entertained the audience. Not have someone try to expose us and embarrass us on TV.
