This was REALLY good, Tim & Ma Dukes! Hopefully this will become one of those videos that will keep getting referenced over and over. Well done! And get that super chat button so I can show appreciation! :)
In It To Flip It thank you so much for all your kind words!! It really means a lot to us to know people are getting something out of what we’re doing, and show us all this live and support!
As an almost 23 year old, I’m the old lady friend for LOVING and collecting Pyrex. This was very helpful! I use Bon Ami on mine and it works like a charm, but I’ll try the peek for scratches and some scrubbing! 👍👍❤️
Baking soda works really well also, it doesn’t scratch it. I keep a bottle mixed with water, vinegar and dawn dish soap for cleaning and I get my dish wet then sprinkle the baking soda on and if it’s got a lot of baked on stuff I spray it with the vinegar solution. It comes right off!
Just followed, I like your 'vibe'! Thanks for putting up these vids, learning what you need to know is probably the biggest hurdle to a good thrifter (IMHO).
That was super informative. Those before and after shots were phenomenal. One thing I noticed...the prices you're listing them for...there's that much work-worth of cleaning that goes into them 😳 Kudos to Ma Dukes!!! Between the cleaning and the packing, you are indispensable!!! Great video!!!
CONSTELLATION PEGASUS yea I mean a lot of those pieces I got specifically to show people how to clean for the video. There’s a lot of times I pass on Pyrex now because they price point isn’t right. I also try to price Pyrex to help move quick, it’s a competitive market at times as well. There’s a lot of pieces out there though that fetch much more money too! Ma Dukes is a champ, she holds me down and I’m fortunate to have her in my corner in life and in business!
@@overtheyearscollecting Well, after they were cleaned, they looked really good. I think a lot of people would've passed some of them by, just because of the way they looked before they were cleaned. Having the "know-how", of how to clean them, makes a ton of difference. Has Pyrex hit a bit of a soft spot lately, unless it is something really special? It hasn't escaped me, what Ma Dukes does -filming your videos, packing, cleaning the pieces...keeping you in line 😉 If she up and decides to retire on you, that could be cause for panic 😲😱
Sheila Hamilton thanks for watching Sheila, we are just trying to do our our best to help others! Sometimes it is a lot of work but if the price is right even the low end Pyrex will bring profit and anything helps right now!
Thanks very much Ma Dukes and Tim! This was very helpful. I have Bar Keepers Friend it keeps my sink nice and white I love it but Peek I've never heard of. I just ordered it on amazon! Very helpful thanks! Hi Josie!
New viewer here 👋 Yours is the first video I've watched to learn how to clean my new pink Gooseberry Pyrex. Great info - thank you both! Ma Dukes, love your humor 😊 You got a new Sub here!
Frank Homen I’m glad it was helpful buddy! Get it cleaned up and ready to sell, Pyrex is a great item to push right now, lots of collectors out there! It’s really fun to hunt for too, especially when you can find really unique pieces!
I've seen some serious stuff on Pyrex and the only thing I ever use after a hot soak for 10-15 minutes is a combo paste of baking soda, vinegar and Dawn dish soap. Once in a blue moon a paste of comet. I use a scotch pad and gently rub. Irks me how people will over bake something in a Pyrex.
Hey Man great video! GlassWare is something i wanted to get into because pyrex gets made in the town over and there is tons of it in our area. I havent had much knowledge on it but luckily for me you seem to be the glass guy! Very cool video and very cool you got mom dukes in it and you guys all work together! I would love to have ya come on our morning show whenever u have time to talk about this and other things. Thanks again! Great video *****
Everyday Im Hustlin thanks for checking us out. Yea I wish it was easier to find quality pieces, it can be tough sometimes where we live. I would take advantage of your surroundings and get into to Pyrex. It is very sought after and sometimes I move pieces in a week or less and sometimes I have to wait a while for a buyer looking for that specific piece. I know I need to link up with you guys when the time is right for us all to join you for an episode on your show! Hope all is well Nate!
As a pyrex fanatic I died a little inside when I saw the all that abrasive stuff. Absolutely, under no circumstances do you use abrasive cleaner or razors on pyrex. The best method with zero effects to the finish is cleaning with oven cleaner. I know this sounds weird because it’s so harsh but it doesn’t harm the finish at all. It literally melts the grim and sticky stuff right off. Spray it down, put it in a garbage bag and let it back in the sun for an hours. After that wash thoroughly and use Peek to get rid of any utensil markings. That’s it. If you want to rub some coconut oil on it for more gloss, go for it.
Thank you for your insight, it is important to us to always hear the ideas an opinions of others. I will definitely take this tip and information and out it to use in the future. Thanks for watching and sharing!
Use baking soda, it’s non abrasive and the stuff comes right off! Wet it and put baking soda on it let it sit a few minutes and use a rag, comes right off!
@@tonywhitaker2202 Yup.. b soda past with vinegar and Dawn dish soap. I soak awhile in hit soapy water first. Then use the past with a scotch pad but rub gently. I use the same method on my Corning Ware.
Velvet Boily thank you for watching! I had a lot of fun with Eric and the boys! We go live on Monday nights and it’s usually a lot of fun!! Thanks for subscribing and watching!!
Thank you for the Pyrex tips. Not sure I understand the difference between beveled edge on the refrigerator dishes...could you show the difference side by side in a future video if you come across one to compare. Also, do you find the Peek product adds a shine to the Pyrex?Washing dishes has never been so much fun!
Kabby Stevens The beveled edge just means it kind of slants back in towards the dish as opposed to a round or flat edge. The peek definitely adds a little shine I’ve seen people say it can completely change the look but sometimes I feel like it’s a lie. That being said, it does do wonders! We appreciate you watching us!
Can you use Peek on the design parts? For example, the white snowflakes on the turquoise casserole dish at 19:06 minutes. In another video that I watched about cleaning vintage Pyrex bowls, the person who posted the video said the Peek would take the designs off. Is that true? Thanks!
Faith, I have never had that issue happen before, I have seen some glassware have that issue even with tape taking off gold gild etc... We have cleaned hundreds and hundreds of pieces of Pyrex with Peek over the design and have never come across that problem before. My suggestion would always be to us a smaller amount at first and ease through those areas till you are 100% comfortable using the product to clean your Pyrex. Ma Dukes is the Queen of Clean 🚽🍸🙀
Just interested in how to revive the faded milky looking, dried out paint on them. How is that done?
You can't. That fading is because someone put the dish in a dishwasher and it took off the paint. NEVER put pyrex in the dishwasher.
