Letchworth in the Deep Freeze!

- If you thought the last video I posted on the effects of the extreme cold in Letchworth was brutal wait until you see what another 2 weeks of this weather has done there. I returned this morning for a hike in the Upper/middle falls area and was amazed by the icing over of both of these waterfalls and how tall the "Ice Volcano" has become. Letchworth is such a beautiful place year round but the winter months have a unique beauty all their own to behold!
I've seen the fountain on a few occasions in your videos but this is the first with others folks visiting it! Kinda bitter sweet.. Great video a true winter wonder land!
I never get tired of seeing that Ken, wish I was there to see it in person though.
Hey bud!! Definitely beautiful to look at!! But I'm doing a warm sun dance for you all!! Hang in there! One good thing about that kind of weather..is the scenery around your neighborhood!! Take it easy and stay warm!!....I saw where Niagara Falls had a nice layer of ice over it too...now that is natures fury!!
Saw that on the news reminded me of you right away! Has grown a lot since the last time you were there. Here comes the cold again!! Keep warm!!
You folks have sure been getting more than your share of snow and frigid temps this winter! Awesome ice stalactites hanging off the bluffs and the fountain ice stalagmite just gets taller and taller!
man...could u imagine living back in the last ice age and seeing that, but worse, everyday for ur entire life!?!? i bet it kinda feels like it to u now-a-days. very beautiful but wouldn't want to stay...lol! better go do some knappin' to warm up! lol! i saw ur ice fountain on CBS a couple days ago....half expected to see u standing there! LOL! thanx fur sharin' Ken...stay safe and warm up there.
All you need is a few logs, a little flint a cold beer or two and you'll be fine until spring....LOL Yeah, we've been hammered pretty good here in the last week. I believe grand total where I'm at this week is 11-12 inches and -0 at night...I'm definitely ready for spring !

Hi Paleoman52.....met you and your friend today at the Upper Falls on our first visit to Letchworth State Park and it really lives up to it's name as the number 1 State Park in the country! Thanks for all your info and input...your videos are great. I have subscribed to your channel and will watch future videos.
just watching the news Ken and they was showing the fountain aand part of the park, quite amazing.
It really shows how cold it has been here. It has been way below 32 degrees for weeks! I was glad to see Letchworth on the world news, but you and my other subscribers have been seeing it for quite a while here before any one else!
I had to put my over coat and mucks on to watch the vid.ha ha.That frozen cone may seal up if it stays sub zero.has it ever before?
To Paleoman52: We met you on the path near the gorge edge, and took your advice to head for the bench in the sun which gave us a great view of the canyon. We went up to the "volcano" and were very impressed with the towering ice structure. Thanks for all the tips! Stay well.

Yes sir, the fountain is getting right up there and looking quite regale. The river at the North end is all froze over too along with everything else. My truck is frozen with a dead battery and had so much ice in the door it took 1/2 hour of careful chipping just to get it open to find out it wouldn't start. Anybody out there know of a Spring spell we can put on Mother. Nature?
It looks very cold.
That's pretty but I would rather see green. We got 5 more inhes of snow and it was -3 this morning.
