Manchester is indeed experiencing a significant skyscraper boom! Over the past decade, the city’s skyline has transformed with numerous high-rise developments. Here are some key highlights:
Viaduct 2: This proposed skyscraper aims to be the tallest residential building in Western Europe at 241 meters (790 feet) high. It will surpass the Peninsula building in London’s Canary Wharf and the south tower at Deansgate Square in Manchester.
76-Storey Tower: Another ambitious project by Salboy Group, this skyscraper is set to become Manchester’s tallest building with 76 storeys, housing 780 flats.
Trinity Islands: A nine-year project approved by Manchester City Council to build four skyscrapers ranging from 39 to 60 storeys on the banks of the River Irwell.
These developments are driven by the high demand for housing in Manchester, fueled by factors such as the large student population and relatively lower cost of living compared to London.
