The AFL should be looking at how hard the grounds are! It’s not the tackle it’s the surface! The afl are choosing the spectical over player safety and blaming the tackle it’s rubbish
"We can't have players missing weeks for being unlucky." Seriously? Players miss entire seasons for being unlucky enough to do their ACL. Players miss weeks ALL THE TIME with injury, and it's all unlucky. There are so many facets of the game where you can do this but you can't do that - can you throw the ball? No. Can you punch the ball of your hand? Yes. If there are intricacies in all the different skills of the game, then there's intricacies in the way tackles are executed - or there are consequences. Why is tackling such a sacrosanct element of the game that cannot be touched? When did winning a game become all about tackling, and not kicking actual goals?
Longmire to see out his current contract then hand over to Dean Cox and then move to Tasmania and be the inaugural coach of the Tassie Devils ? Any chance of that happening ?
Re Neale vs Williams - I was 7 when Diesel retired so I never saw him live, but having read and listened to what others who did watch him have said, that comparison is a stretch. I've always been given the impression that Williams' biggest strength was his creativity and that he was one of the best exponents of handball ever. I've never had that sense of 'capable of magic with ball in hand' with Neale. If I were to compare a 'modern' player to Williams, it would be Sam Mitchell
With the Charlie tackle, the guy that got concussed , he grabbed Charlie by the left of his jumper then turned himself left also and his feet tripped Charlie making them come down, now also players are saying the grounds are so hard this year what's going on with that ?
That guy is Liam Duggan if you are gonna analyse the complete physics of how the tackle was laid at least put the effort into it to learn the players name his a premiership player

I just don't get the handwringing/sky is falling/hysterical response to Charlie Cameron's. 1) he absolutely drove down when falling 2) he didn't release his hands when falling 3) there have been hundreds of standing up tackles this year 4) NONE have ended up in a concussion This is obviously a suspension worthy tackle.

1176 tackles recorded last week, 3 have gathered suspensions, some people are acting like the sky is falling.
