    Originally intended to become the new I-84 east of East Hartford to connect to Providence, RI. The old I-84 (E. Hartford to Union) would have been renamed I-86. Rhode Island cancelling it's section of 84 threw a wrench into those plans. CT was still going to continue this road to connect to I-395 (formerly CT Route 52), but then various protests, delays, objections, lack of funds, revised priorities, led to second thoughts and the eventual termination (and rename to I-384) as is shown here.
