Great spinning/twirling but like so many American high school drum majors, doesn't know British foot drill. He's kinda got the mark time ok, but doing an American hand salute and American faces.
HS DM Competitions in SoCal were started by Tom Peacock during the 1970's. From what I can recall, Mr. Peacock served in the USMC and it would be logical to assume that the foundational belief passed through his judges would be based on the traditions derived from the US military. I was a competitor at DM L competitions during the 1980's. All judging was provided by Tom Peacock certified Judges which covered all of Southern California. While tradition was highly valued, more emphasis was focused on the execution of the moves related to marching. This I believe, made a more even opportunity between British themed DM's and non-British themed DM's.
Good job from this DM. Some issues with body control and a couple breaks in phasing during marching. Not too much emphasis during turns and Counter march which could have been exploited more visually and verbally. Overall, good performance. Could be better with focus on mentioned areas.
I enjoyed the macework. Unfortunately his drill and deportment are disappointing. The most difficult part for him to correct will be to extract the carrot and march like a living human being. Countermarch always to the other right.
Excllant. Fantastic to watch. God Bless from Ireland.

Wonderful work. Top notch! However, please get this fin young man a proper kilt. That thing looks to be too lightweight.
Amen. That an because of the weight you can see every improper crease.
But why?
Привет продолжателям традиций !
