At one point, he performed two shows a night in Las Vegas appearances. Jones first performed in Las Vegas at The Flamingo Hotel in 1967.

This was a way sped up version for TV it's about twice the speed he usually sings it..
You should try and find some videos of him singing Gospel and Blues he's amazing with those aswell!
In fact Tom was best mates with ELVIS even spent a Holiday at Graceland with his wife and Elvis and Precilla Presley!! (he idolised Elvis and Elvis Idolised Tom! -Mutual respect for eachothers vocal/For given talent and gift and just natural ability to feel and sing not only these types of Songs but both Tom and Elvis sand so great Gospel, Blues, Soul etc).
Tom is a very versatile singer. Even now in his 80s (as a judge on "The Voice UK" the other judges like 'Will.i.Am' and "Jennifer Hudson" the others etc, will get him to stand up and do a song from the chair or the stage acapella and Jennifer Hudson loves him She often sings Duets with Tom which are just Gold!!
Either from their chairs or sometimes they'll get up and do a duet on the stage with her or whoever and he can STILL stay with Jennifer Hudson for power and Range on the duets he's truly a great singer!
Not sure what other ones you checked out of his yet.
    Delilah (is a classic)
Green Green Grass it Home (also a classic)
There's loads. Maybe see if you can dig out some of his live performances from later in his career. He headlined Glastonbury I think a few years back played a whole set! But he's done some amazing studio duets and songs aswell blues and Gospel...

Tom was a Welsh coal miner who got "discovered" in '65. This was his first hit and it made him a star who got his own weekly TV show and continued to have a VERY long career. This song was written for another British singer, Cilla Black, and he just did the demo. The story is that she heard his demo and walked out of the recording studio because she was so impressed with it.

The old Ed Sullivan show was broadcast live out of New York City. Immediately before this performance in July of 1965 I had the great pleasure of seeing Tom here in my native Brooklyn do this at the old Brooklyn Fox theater. Tom then left the theater and either the next day or the same day did this performance. On the same bill that I saw was also The Temptations, a very young Patti LaBelle, Ben E. King, and The Ronettes. Those were really the days. I second the idea that his version of "I Who Have Nothing" is the best version I've ever heard. Better than Be E. King's or Shirley Bassey's.

I worked in a suit manufacturer for twenty-two years. Men didn't want to wear suits anymore. My dad was proud of good he looked in his suit. When he passed, his two suits rode around in my car for a long time before I finally stopped and put them into a donation box. He didn't want a funeral, so that was like his funeral for me when I let go of his suits. And finally, I accepted a lay-off from my job because men had decided they looked better with their pants falling off.

Recently finished Sit Tom's autobiography, and a very good read it was too. Tom was often squeezed into a mainstream role when his heart was always in blues, gospel and rock 'n' roll. My mom loved him. I remember she once said, "Tom Jones can sing anything." She was right. I suppose that was both a blessing and a curse.

So you all should check out this group called Scott Bradlee’s Post Modern Jukebox. It’s a rather large group because Scott picks different musicians and singers to interpret different songs. The gimmick is this: modern songs performed in older styles. So you got Hey Ya arranged as a doo wop song. Maroon 5’s Maps done Motown. RHCP’s Give It Away done Austin Powers style.
The singers are really great. Start off with anything by Haley Rheinhardt. She does a great duet of Mad World with Puddles the Clown with the Golden Voice.

The unusual thing about this was it was #1 in the UK. In 1965 it was groups, groups, groups. Beatles, Stones, Who, Kinks, Yardbirds, etc. etc. But the original Decca release had a superb band backing that superb voice. Who could resist 😄😄

I'm so glad my mom played this old school music in the car while growing up in the early 2000s. Sure I got sick of hearing much of it repeated often on her CDs but it has heavily impacted me when I grew up and opened myself up to just enjoying music period. Check out the album version, more complete than this live version. I'm always so impressed by the live performances from this era.

The studio recording of this had guitarist Jimmy Page (pre-Led Zeppelin) on lead guitar, and (possibly) Andy White or Chris Slade on drums. Chris Slade would later be in "The Firm" with Jimmy Page, post-Led Zeppelin.
    Peace
