I also had my early education in the UK so I am pretty sentimental about the city where you are now working. I am from Singapore and in fact I was back in England from 27 October to 12 December 2021 to attend my God Sister's funeral in Northampton and to see friends in Cheshire and London. Yes, I have been to Liverpool and think it's a beautiful city with a rich history and culture. I know you just broke up from a romance that you had tried very hard to build. It's Ok, believe me, time will heal the wound and you will meet new people in your life. I am gay too and also survive a break-up one year ago. Love is everywhere but only destiny will let you find the man of your dreams....keep searching.
