Paul takes a comprehensive look at a small heating and hot water system in Cheshire.
This particular system has a Vaillant eco tech boiler, Vaillant senso comfort thermostat/controller, external air temperature sensor, VR 71 wiring centre, internet gateway, ambisense TRVs for most of the radiators and a hot water cylinder.
For the wet UFH, Heatmiser UH8 RF, 3x Neo air thermostats and Neo hub. The customer also wanted us to add his electric UFH onto the Heatmiser system, which we didn't get chance to do this time.
This system had already been installed by a plumber/heating engineer as we couldn't get to the job when required to install the wiring/controls.
The customer said the UFH did not work independently. They only felt heat via the UFH, when the heating or hot water was on.
In this video, Paul shows you his fault finding process, programming, control wiring, recalibration of thermostats, Thermal imaging of the UFH system and what you need for an efficient smart heating controller system.
    Time stamps:
00:00 Description of the current setup and how it's functioning.
03.34 A look around the current installation.
03:47 Rant about wireless products being used on a new installation.
04:30 Continue to look around the current installation.
05:46 A look in the boiler room at the boiler, controls and water cylinder.
06:44 A look at the drawings the customer/plumber has provided. Apologies there is a bit on fast forward briefly!
09:14 Wiring/controls in the boiler room.
11:47 Next day, had the UFH working independently all night.
13:30 Showing all UFH loops have been functioning over night.
15:34 Isolating UFH zones to prove each loop is labeled correctly.
16:15 Paperwork required and Pauls fault diagnosis. Apologies, Paul mixes up minimum and maximum radiator flow temperature. MAX flow temp was set at 35 degrees!
23:54 Programme settings on the Senso comfort.
26:24 VR 71 wiring diagram and issues.
27:18 Wiring/connection issues VR 71 and Heatmiser unit.
33:22 Heatmiser system testing. Functionality, efficiency and loop proving.
45:20 Neo air, additional wired temperature sensors and how this system protects the floor covering.
48:40 System now functioning correctly. A look upstairs and what the senso comfort is now controlling.
51:58 Change of senso comfort programme settings, after all towel rails have ambisense TRVs.
Thanks for watching. We hope this is helpful!

I thought that using the VR71 would negate the need for a 10 way wiring centre, seeing that you have a Heatmiser Wiring Centre also
Please provide more details on the relay and the VR10 pip sensor you mentioned shows up as either a tank or solar sensor. im sure alot of householders are stumped as to how to get Vaillant wiring centre and UFH wiring centre to work and maximise modulation

@@Anthony-dh3ty Hi, just a follow up question on this. For a home refurb project I have ufh setup on a single floor with 4 separate heating zones using all heatmeiser equipment - thermostats (neostat), neohub(Gen2), wiring centre (UH8-RF), actuators (on manifold). The boiler in place is Vailant ecotec plus 625. To achieve boiler modulation is only the VR71 needed in addition to the heatmeiser equipment I already have? Or do I need to replace the heatmeiser equipment with Vailant ones?
