Conor O' Brien performs Do Not Stand at My Grave and Weep at Songs That Scare Children (But in a Very Beautiful Way) in the Spiegeltent for the Dublin Fringe Festival
I recited this poem at my grandmothers funeral. I could barely make it to the end before my voice broke with tears. Thank you for giving us this poem put to music. It is beautiful and I know my grandmother would have loved it so much.
I first heard this song on a Libera cd. I love your version, more compelling, more personal and very beautiful voice for this song. Thank you for posting.
@mnsnuttin If you haven't heard by now, he now performs under the name Villagers, and he's got an album out called "Becoming a Jackal", which is astoundingly good.
This is WONDERFULL! I really wish he'd record a studio-version of this song. I've came back to this video several days for the last 3 days as well. Just amazing...
Beautiful haunting rendition of this song...........my mom recently pasted and I would like to dedicate this song to her. This version had me balling when I first heard it I also can not stop listening to this version simply amazing, I to would like there to be a single that I can buy of Conor O Brian's version.
I never heard of this guy, but his song 'Nothing Arrived' was just played on RTÉ Radio 1. Wow. What a voice, what a delivery. Where in Ireland is he from? Amazing singer, yet he doesn't have a Wikipedia article yet.
Kate, Thanks for responding. Did you ever receive my first comment?! It didn't post, and I wondered why. Maybe it was too personal or I did it incorrectly. This song was amazing for me because I once had a son named Conor.
hey denise - not that i know of. i've only ever known this as a poem not a song so it was lovely to hear on the night :-) His myspace page is myspace . com / wearevillagers kate
@padraic2001eire You might want to listen to Libera's version (it was arranged by Prizeman). I think that a part of this version was based on Libera's. :)
---not really convinced by this " Huahua uhhhhu mhmhm" of this kinda strange girl choir..or whatever this is,. Just a bit funny.. By the way this song ( and poem) has nothing to do with Hopis ! And its really not ancient.lol.
My Gods....That is beautiful....Anyone who has lost a loved one will be able to understand

I have listened to many versions of this song, and this is my favorite by far. I would love to have a studio recorded version in this same style.
Ok i've watched this video like 10y ago. Had to find it back, it definitely deserves to be recorded. The voice, the vibe fit perfectly

Hi Denise - no, I didn't get your first comment. Very sad to hear about your son. I had my own connection to the song too. It's a lovely performance.
Please marry me.
