He will remember this. Umag 2019 and Banja Luka 2023 are very important because:
a) Umag was his first ever title
b) these 2 titles were at regions with Serbian fans were and are solid part of society
Of course if he would win f.e. Hamburg 500 or Madrid Masters or even RG, then it would be another level of pride, but because of Serbian ambient these 2 will always be very crucial in Dušan's memory.
Something more would be if Belgrade would have ATP 500 tournament and Lajović would win it.
(Belgrade plans to have ATP 500 event beginning at 2024)

On jeste dobar i fin momak. Ne postoji osoba koja ga poznaje a da nije rekla da je on jedan od boljih ljudi koje poznaju. Cak je i Rubljov rekao na konferenciji posle ovog meca da je Dusan jedna od najboljih osoba koje je ikada upoznao i da je srecan sto ga je on pobedio i uzeo taj trofej. Losi komentari su ga nazalost sputavali da pokaze svoj maksimum, sad kada je stariji verovato je shvatio neke stvari

Dusan's attitude on the court is exemplary.
The key thing I saw from Dusan is how he was taking the ball early and redirecting it to keep Rublev running, rather than trading bombs from way back. Really smart play, great performance.
i watched this just for the camera angle :). Why cant we use this angle for all broadcasts. And Lajovic is so good. Loved his game this week.

I don't know if I'm mistaken but, Rublev was notorious for looking to bang the ball in every situation, which was limiting him strategically and probably not helping with his frustration. In Monte-Carlo, I saw him hitting shots by taking more time, and aiming at specific zones rather than just hitting hard. I'm a few seconds into this video and I'm already seeing it here too. I heard that he got a new coach, and, even though he lost that final, it is still 2 finals in a row. I hope what I'm seeing is real and that he's improving by playing and hitting smarter.

What are you talking about? Tsitsipas won Monte-Carlo last 2 years consecutively. Before that Thiem won Barcelona and many other titles on clay. Musetti won Hamburg defeating Alcaraz and Stan fucking won Roland Garros. Single hand backhand players win regularly on clay. It's just that their aren't that many on tour.

Before Lajović at Banja Luka 250 most recent was Musetti at Hamburg 500 in July 2022.
@@utkarshsingh1938 True others have indeed in the years before. Effective Single-handed backhand today is quite rare especially among the top players on the ATP (In WTA, absolutely none that I can think of today! remember Henin in mid-2000's, a multiple grand slam winner) and none of them except fed and stan were potent enough to win them slams in the last decade (not just Masters). Stan is still competing today but he's nowhere close to his mid 2010's form when he was a beast. Hope Lajovic competes and goes further in the French Open this year.
@@santhnu Single handed players will always be a minority because it's something that comes naturally to a minority of players when they are growing up. Left handed players making up only 10% of atp players doesn't mean playing left handed is less effective than playing right handed

Courageous from Lajovic,I mean when he played the match against Novak I did see it was not just Novak having a bad day at the office but part of that was caused by some impressive volleys from this Serbian.Fabulous display of tennis and to beat in-form Rublev is no mug's game at all

Lajovic was clever: in the 7th game of 2nd set, he starts to get that he'll have to stay for ages on court if he continues to play at flat-bang-bang with Bweehhh. He starts then to lift like crazy and Rublev can't lean on a flat stroke to bang back some rockets. Clever, well adapted.

I think Rublev lacks some versatility in his game. Especially coming to the net more often and maybe some dropshots and slice.
Making it even more impressing, how he's able to win titles and being a consistent top 10 player.
Still love the way he's playing and of course his personality.

@@Yu.Sukhov он бесится потому что не знает что делать, когда соперник превосходит его там, где он силен ( в основном в игре на задней линии ). Плюс очень слабая и легко читаемая вторая подача. Он дубасит по мячу в любой ситуации - в защите играть вообще не умеет. Оттого и бесится.

@@cliveuuking4602 Banja Luka is 2 hours drive from Zagreb to southeast, and some 4-5 hours drive from Belgrade to the west-southwest.
