Concentration on the character itself without pushing one's voice to engage in unnatural speech simply as an effect is a solid, solid point... thanks.
Very useful, thanks😀
Thank you. This is awesome, helpful. We need more of this ACX. Im going to the booth right now😅
Nice, thanks
Vikas is very cool and an incredible narrator. If you wanna geek out on what he’s describing, Vocal Register is the term used to describe the up and down (like musical notes), Vocal Placement is where you give resonance to the sound (throat, nose, teeth), and the acting technique is called Practical Aesthetics. A focus on the intentionality of the character rather than the method “be the character” acting. You put em together: High, at the teeth, desperate to remain calm (Princess Leah), Low, back of throat, desperate to instill fear (Darth Vader) and you can narrate any character in any scene with minimal prep, back and forth.
Thank you so much, Vikas! This is super helpful!!
Wonderful information!
A perfect example of a man being able to play a woman without really changing pitch and instead focusing on character qualities, Jim Frangione narrating the Black Dagger Brotherhood series by J.R. Ward. He is an amazing narrator, he is able to capture sooooo many characters within the books so that you know who he is portraying without it being specified.
This was really good!
is this new recruitment tool for audible? because it's working
