    I wish these reviews would talk about the fact that the home owners are not vetted at all. Not even an ID check. I’m a member of 5 years & that’s one thing that irks me.

      I just started housesitting in Nashville two months ago. About to pay this annual membership fee. So its worth it? You never charge? My dog care and cleaning services are offered when I housesit but its not free. Figure I can just sign up and take house sits with no pets/duties.

    I work from home and I have two memberships; this and planet fitness. I then hop place to place (I tend to look for one month listings or two listings in one place so I can stay the whole month). If you own your own car and have a tax burden location (my mom for instance) this basically makes it so I don't ever have to settle on a place. I can just keep hopping.

    I can’t wait to do this because I love animals and love to travel. To have my lodging expenses covered and able to cook inside home, condo, etc. is even icing on the cake. I can walk and feed the animals then go out and sight see and have fun for like 6-8hrs before I walk them and feed them. As soon as I retire I will be doing this and traveling all over the place. This definitely is a good fit for me

      @@betty_taylor55 that’s why you have to plan ahead and be flexible. I share all the details on my channel. And when you don’t find house sit you can stay in Airbnb or short term rental, since you don’t pay rent you have money saved for the times you don’t find a sit. I hope this helps

    Most helpful vid so far on this because you showed the backend. Love your strategy of seeing peoples complaints then making a video around them. Appreciate the info!!

    I was thinking of joining to look for a pet sitter. I wanted to talk to a staff on the phone but after trying several times i failed. I also emailed them asking someone to contact me and alerted them to the phone issue but no response either. It hasn't quite inspired confidence in their customer service. I am in UK btw.

    The filter wasn't a "bug", it works as designed. You unchecked "Beach" but we're zoomed into an area with no beaches, so it showed appropriately, just like Google Maps works when you add a filter. Great review video though!

    Can sitters bring their own pets with them to sit at other people's houses? In other words, thru this platform, can you travel WITH the dog?

    Hello, my girlfriend and I decided to become a member on the website. However, we are asked to give a reference to have our profile live.
    We don't know anyone. So, how can we have a reference? Could you help us with that?

    ?

    • @RyanKaufman
      @RyanKaufman Рік тому +2

      Yeah you pay to get there whether that's your own car or plane ticket or whatever. They're only responsible for the building you will be staying at. They do have a cancel policy however, if the owner cancels on you and your flight is in 2 days, the app will pay for you to find other accommodations up to like $1500

    THS does nothing for the sitter. Hosts often mislead about the location to capture interest.

    There appears to be no upside for the the house sitters, who not only make zero money but actually have to PAY a yearly fee, plus travel costs, while caring for pets, which obviously includes doing all the necessary work of feeding, walking, cleaning up poop, cleaning and changing litter boxes, vacuuming, mopping, dusting, brushing fur, giving medication as needed, and playing with the pets and on and on. And of course keeping the house cleaned and maintained. The homeowners have only the yearly fee to pay then get to enjoy themselves on vacation while someone housesits and cares for their animals for FREE. They are saving huge amounts of money by not having to pay a petsitting service or kennel. But the biggest winner is Trusted Housesitters who is raking in all the fees that every sitter or owner must pay, no matter if they use the service or not. What a racket. Anyone who is using this company as a sitter needs to realize that MOST people will actually PAY you to house sit and take care of their pets, with no money being paid by the sitter to a 3rd party. A total scam. Unbelievable.

      Hey, do you know of websites or services that offer the same but also pay you?

    • @RyanKaufman
      @RyanKaufman Рік тому +26

      You're looking at this the wrong way. The owner of the house GOES on Vacation but you as the sitter are ON vacation when you arrive. That's the point of the app. If you pick up a sitting job for a week in Vegas, you just paid $129 for an entire week in Vegas. Where would you like to go? London? A friend of mine just got back from a sitting job there; three weeks in London. Again, $129. For 21 days. Yeah, you have to clean up after yourself. But you get a bed to sleep on and a roof to sleep under and sometimes a lovely cat or dog to befriend for an absurdly low yearly cost (compared to hotel/bnb rates).
      Seriously, look at AirBnB prices. Going to Green Bay, Wisconsin (unless you're a Packer fan, why would you go here?) will cost you $70-100 per day to stay here. Or you can find a sitter spot here. Or in Milwaukee, or in Madison, or in Chicago if you wanna open up the Midwest.
      Does that clue in better why this app exists? It looks like a scam, but you are paying the yearly fee for a vacation. Yeah it sucks having to clean up after yourself but I'll gladly do that to avoid the extortion rates of hotels and the scummy pricing/practices of BnBs.
