Out of which ~ 50k+ are coming from Canada (northern border).. 99% sikhs. 25k coming from southern borders.. and the remaining from cuba and others. These numbers should be fact checked for accuracy so that none of these small time media outlets spread slander against any community. I have never heard Indians attempting to cross in such large numbers. America is very far from India.. and what this report is describing that Indians travel through central america is just nuts.. its just not possible.. it would be a hike of at least 5000-6000 miles just to do that. Indians are not physically strong to make that hike in the regions where they don’t even speak the language- where the landscape is so brutal (desserts, rain forests, mountains- the geography is crazy). I live in California not far from the border and have heard the attempted crossings of people from Punjab but that number has been too small to make a cut in any national news here in US. @ thakur, if you are real thakur.. the stats is available from CBP.. the number is much higher ~90K. Out of which ~ 50k+ are coming from Canada (northern border).. 99% sikhs. 25k coming from southern borders.. and the remaining from cuba and others. In essence this reporting is still faulty given that they are quoting a number of 60K coming from southern border, which it is just 25K. I am myself surprised at these numbers tho. Never thought the numbers would be so high. First world country is still a long way to go.. but am proud how india is making leaps. I really wish that motherland gets there soon and these crossings become the thing of the past
