Great video and explanation of the lithium upgrades - developed & designed by a true G1 expert. 👍

A few months ago i was faced with the decision of replacing the NiMh battery pack in my prius and I first came to know of John from his analysis/critique of another Lithium "upgrade" (N3xcell) for the Toyota prius. Thankfully these n3xcells were not available and i went the route of installing brand new NiMh cells as the vehicle (and battery management system) was designed for. He is doing the world a service by making people aware of a dangerous product.
He has used his engineering knowledge to develop a safe solution to modernize and improve a 25 year old automobile.
Keep up the work and dont let the detractors/echo chamber at pr1uschat deter you from exploring the Toyota hybrid space.

I've been following Peter Perkins and Mudder ever since I bought my first Insight back in 2010. My first was a 2004 silver automatic that I loaned to both of my son-in-laws after their vehicles had issues. I bought my 2000 Citrus in 2013 and still own that one which has a Greentec battery pack and runs great. I bought a 2000 red back in 2015 and drove that for awhile and then sold it to another Insight driver that sold his and really wanted another one even though he has plenty of money to buy a Tesla S plaid, but he really liked the Insight. My daily driver is a 2014 Chevy Volt, but I drive the 2000 Citrus on the snowy winter days in NE Ohio. Anyhow, I really enjoyed the video and it was great to finally meet 'Mudder'! I have one other EV project that I need to get running, the 1984 DC Plasma Fiero if you've ever heard of that car! I need a battery pack and control, I have a Transwarp 9" DC motor.

Thanks for all of your insight videos. I have a 2000 MT with 160,000 miles. In late December I put a deposit in with Green Tech for the lithium pack thanks to a previous video. Can't wait to get it installed!

Only the first few years of the G1 Insight did lean burn, can your mod make all G1 Insights have lean burn? Also, can the cars with the CVT be converted to Linsight?

If you purchase the greentec kit do they come with the grid charger?
