2 more tips! 1) Moving the vault if enemy teams have a gateway pre-placed. 2) Put a vortex on the exit side of your gateway so if anyone follows you through they are stuck!
Another trick not mentioned is if u bring vortex to a map like skyway or Seoul in under construction u can throw vortex on the pad pop it midair and if any enemies for the next 7 secs use the pad the vortex will stop them midair and ultimately make them fall to their death
A funny usage is on the big jumppads with kill zones below them like Fortune Stadium or Skyway Stadium, throw the vortex on the jumppad then activate it midair so that anyone who takes the jumppad will get caught midway by the vortex and fall to their death when it disappears
A concept i want to experiment with a bit more is one i learned from valorant, where if youre anticipating a full team push through a choke point, you put some form of crowd control like a molotov (or in this case a gravity vortex) in that choke point as soon as someone walks through, to give the teammates behind them an ultimatum, where they either leave their entryfrag to 1vX while they wait for the vortex to go down, or run in to help and get sucked up. The only issue with this is that its hard to anticipate which choke points the enemies will come through, since the finals maps are so vertical (and also they can create their own choke points with destruction and the dematerialiser)
@ yeah i mentioned that at the end of the comment, it wont be as cut and dry as in valorant, but thats why i said i wanted to “experiment” with the idea, because i still think it can do something similar
Great vid appoh. I like how u explain the gadget and use cases really using them in competitive scenarios. Keep the work, creating content for this game we love so much. Hope u creators of the finals content receive the recognition u guys deserve.
I don't think we need anything, I actually don't want the game to grow too fast because right now the devs are very responsive and the amount of players is very decent, a slow grind up is better than an explosion like apex had.
When i first used the two new gadgets, i knew immediately that despite that i didnt know how to use it and it felt underwhelming, they were definitely top tier gadgets. Lockbolt is definitely good, i think players and myself just need more time to get good at using it
If it was a impact grenade like a molotov it would be busted and if it was a mine it would be useless. It has more util as a detonator for stopping steals. Just think of how a C4 Is more effective at stopping steals than a grenade or mine, same with the vortex.
On Seoul moving platforms the one that goes over the bridge on hospital you can place the vortex there and when the cashout on the platform comes you can drop it there the same way you could do with goo
been loving the gravity vortex. I just wish it stopped the opponent cashing out. Some situations it will but alot of times the opponent gets stuck in the vortex with the cashout so they can just keep stealing. And when theres alot of enemies around it ls hard to kill that enemy. I wish it did like a tornado effect where its spins alot and just stops the steal immediately
It is so nice to see Light having utility outside of stun gun blocks and gateways (which I find require understanding of the physics engine to use properly, it doesn't really help newbies)
My only personal gripe with it is I just hate the gadgets that allow you to remote use. It jus never works for me for some reason. Breach charges, c4, vortex, none of them seem to ever go off when I'm using it or people seem to telepathically know where everything is an take care of it from a mile away
lol I also tried the gadget, immediately put it down and then picked it up again recently. It really interrupts the flow that I'm used to as a light because it has the complexity similar to gateway. Its good though. Allows a light to have some of that cancerous utility that med and heavy have for defending and attacking cashouts. I think vortex is good for snipers too. You can lock up a player or two for easy shots or use it to disengage a fight safely. Sniper is still stupid hard to use though.
What weapon do you think has the biggest skill ceiling on light medium and heavy? Really curios cause i just used v9s after not using it for a while because i wanted to get better with throwing knives and when I used it again i realized i was actually half decent
I was running with tthis as well, that's what i can share: 1) You can use it on the ceiling, so your heavy can olace a new C4 unedr point. 2) Your Heavy placec c4 under poin, and then you place vortex above on ceiling. When the enemy steal activate vottex, than c4, this way you will deal a 100 dmg wnd will brake floor. 3) very good if you're getting chased through gateway. 4) You can use it on dead enemies to make it harder for enemies to difib. 5) Some time it can destroy walls but i am still learning it as tech. 6) Yellow and red barrels are really good with this gadget in chokes. 7) if you go for desperet steal you can use it on point, makes it harder for enemies to shoot you and if there is a lot of rubbels tou will get a good amount of cover
imo vortex is not that worth using not only because of incosistency with it but also this gadget takes a slot in which you could running with more useful one
@@blvdes i might wait a month or so for that, the issue is in the patch notes they implied a future rework/revisit so i feel like if i drop one soon it might be irrelevant

I saw a clip of that and it was funny

In valorant you cannot go through walls , you cannot destroyed them either , you cant jumpad etc .. its not that easy

It's the most satisfying thing to ever exist for the light class, got so many nade, gas, and flame kills with that thing
I wish it was a grenade format or a mine format, and not activated with a detonator.
Yeah I can't run c4 cuz I'm too slow or forget where I placed it 😅 mines and grenades are simple and effective
Agree honestly, the cf format it’s in rn is kinda clunky, maybe intentionally? But either way a grenade format would be wayyyy more fun

It came on clutch when I threw my vortex in to collapsed rubble. It pulled debris and created cover.

You can also pull the cashout off from moving platforms pretty effectively.
Finally. I've been using it a bit. It definitely takes some getting used to, but if you can. It's a very helpful gadget
05:50 YOOOO the fact light has breach charge, imma doing it by my self on quick cash 😋
Good vid!
Appoh the best
Thanks for the video. I'll subscribe now.
Helpful stuff! What was the music towards the end (during like the last tip?) 7:40 ish
Thoughts on which gadget to drop on LH1? Does not having Taser hurt close range engagements since gateway is a must-pick and more or less glitches too
now with stealth not working for over 2 minutes, the sit and wait strat is much less useful as you can't just camp for an entire cashout timer.
Awesome tips man i was convinced this gadget sucked. I hope you cover splitgate 2 when it drops
