I was enlightened, beyond measure. I felt warmth in finding that Jesus will take my dove of sacrifice; to fly. This morning I took a walk in the trail here; foot strengthens. As I walked a grackle with red wings; symbolizing what I had just said. I can speak a whole lot on that walk. The bird almost landed on my head; and so much more; of me enjoying this special day; because: all creation is mowning; for the adoption of the sons/& daughters of God.

This video’s info is spectacular and on the money. However, I feel that it’s missing the complete truth. When most people listen to this they will probably understand that they must loose themselves as an individual to pick up their cross. I know that’s how I use to understand this lesson, and I’ve heard from many others when I’ve taught this lesson afterwards that that’s what they understand. “In order to follow Jesus, I have to leave everything that makes me happy behind, nope not going to do it” is the typical response.
Most people will not accept this truth because they believe they have to leave behind what makes them happy. Now, that is absolutely correct; we have to leave our attachments and distractions aside in order to follow our and His cross.
However, the missing truth of this video is that when we do this we will no longer seek happiness but Joy, and unlike happiness, joy is eternal.
When we take up the lesson of this video and incorporate it into our lives our individuality is not shadowed or lost in Jesus. We do not become invisible, to the contrary we are illuminated and become even more visible than we could ever do on our own because we are one with Jesus now and through Him our individuality is multiplied. Our perspective is no longer “I want to live in this house, drive this car, travel the world, make this much money, etc.” our perspective becomes “I get to live in the house I have, drive the car I have, live with the people I love, work at the job I have”.
Lessons like this video need that second truth. I believe it to simply be incomplete or unclear to some.
Not sure if I’m making sense, just wanted to share.

“Then Jesus said to His disciples, “If anyone wishes to follow Me [as My disciple], he must deny himself [set aside selfish interests], and take up his cross [expressing a willingness to endure whatever may come] and follow Me [believing in Me, conforming to My example in living and, if need be, suffering or perhaps dying because of faith in Me].”

When Jesus talked about “picking up our cross”…how did those listening to him at the time know what was meant by this, considering it was said before his crucifixion? The people listening would never imagine what was about to happen…
