Excellent. I just noticed that you hold function down as you twist the bass and treble knobs. I definitely did not know about that feature until this video!
I only use the kick and the toms from the beats now - or use it with a lot of very heavy fuzz to create rhythmic textures. the sample destroys it in every way. my beats however is modded - i use the ring noise for ambiences. funnily enough the beats sounds pretty good through a nice overdrive. here's my beats through my own fuzz pedal - soundcloud.com/animal-factory-amps/volca-beats-x-baron-samedi
It certainly is. What a lot of people don't seem to know is that the Sample can string together patterns (memories, of which it has 10 compared to the Beats 8) into songs. There are 6 song slots and each one can consists of 16 "phrases" (not sure about the terminology, haven't read the manual yet) from any of the memories. I got my Sample a couple of days ago after owning the Beats for over a year, and wish I'd got the Sample first.
I will say this when tracking in my DAW hands down this device blows my other drum sequencer away in sound quality did I mention what my other drum machine was? It's just a TR-8 it can not touch this machine ...
If you've spent anytime using old school samplers, you can learn it very quickly - and apply your old favourite techniques to it. But, depending on how you want to use it - you can get endless fun out of it and learning it is half the fun. I randomly upload samples to mine in batches, then just sit there and find out what I uploaded - and create a whole pattern set from that. It's pretty hard to get bored with it if you have the imagination :) This video is made from drum hits I'd sampled ages from my electribe 2, bit of looping and envelope editing. Then some knob twiddling whilst playing live. It's fun.
I'm 13 years old, i seen it on internet and it was pretty cheap, so i got one (Is on my left right now), at first it looks a little bit hard, but if you watch some tutorials on UA-cam, in one or two weeks you will be using it like a pro. (Sorry for my english, i'm from Argentina...)
Fuck dude, you killed it. All volca sample videos I have seen are so cheesy and boring using the same drumcode adam beyer groove, but this one has soul! Great job, def getting this toy.
Can I used a VOLCA SAMPLE together with a Korg KARMA synthesizer which I already have ? Can work with them together in the same time, mixing them ? Tks and HAPPY 2018 !!
2 x Volca Samplers :) No seriously, one Sampler and probably the Volca bass, the tones would suit you better. If you can stretch it, I'd add the Volca FM too.
The samples are mono, but each track/part, can be panned to left-right. Panning can also be Motion sequenced. One other great stereo effect you can get, is to load the same sample into two tracks/parts, then pan one hard left, and the other hard right. Then make subtle changes to each track, and you get a great stereo sound. So you can get great stereo effects from mono samples.
Andrew Crump yeah it's a fantastic device. I've had a lot of mileage out of mine. I tend to use it on its own and not with other synths, the more limited you make things, the more interesting the results 😏
Safe what's the longest sample yiu can upload into it also if I use the app will it back up factory sounds that come with it as I heard you can lose them unless use caustic editor that supposedly backs factory sounds up??
I just got one of these little guys, and they're pretty damn impressive. You sir, make this device come to life. I love your work!
It sounds like a new genre, phonk, and its really cool, nice job!
No, You are a bass monster.
I was like 'yeah pretty sweet, but not that amazed', but then 1:37 happened. Damn.
Best demo of the Volca Sample. Amazing track too!
This is AWESOME !
Instantly got my leg moving !
It settings like some late 90's Cyberpunk Club 👍
Bass☆MUSICALS on basss❤Monsterbass & Magnet....Monster 《《《❤
I'm not really surprised I'm head bobbing to such a simple bass line and beat... just because it sounds fucking good.
l love this little Groovebox! Very nice tune!!!
Nice buildup - nice ending.
Tasteful demo of the bass potential in this lil bad boy 👍
Excellent. I just noticed that you hold function down as you twist the bass and treble knobs. I definitely did not know about that feature until this video!
Very overlooked device. Way better then the beats I think.
Sure is. I have my beats for sale after it's been sitting on the shelf for a long time collecting dust.

Sounding good , that distorted bass kicks ass
Oh my Gosh! Easy easy! (listening on loop, so rad!)
Holy shit, this track is amazing bro!!Great skillz! With lov from 2020!🔥🙏
That bassline is fucking evil! Sick beat
génial man good style and nice set simple volca !like+
I can't wait to sample my arp odyssey, electric bass, bongos, harmonica, and bodhran! Seems like endless possibilities!
If you're just noodling around with the internal speaker you literally think the sample has no bass capabilty, but in reality it proper bangs.
Please tell me someone else sees those bluish tracers all over the screen. I think reality is failing me.
It's to do with the camera I think. Unintended feature :D
looks cool as fuck
It does look cool. I was just making sure I wasn't losing it.
He's playing Volca Hero.
I've seen the same thing on other volca vids. Think it's the lights.
Nice minimal bass mate
Sounds awesome, thanks.
I will say this when tracking in my DAW hands down this device blows my other drum sequencer away in sound quality did I mention what my other drum machine was? It's just a TR-8 it can not touch this machine ...
Seriously? I almost bought TR-8. Went with this a volca bass at the last second. Thanks for the reassurance!
Oh yeah, Volca Sample has the bass! Thanks for sharing, sir.
Nice sounds! It's a little techno monster!
Bravo!!!
GREAT!!!
Just wow - neat stuff!
You killed it man! Is it an intuitive device? As in when you get it is it easy to pick up on how everything works??

🎵 dirty stinking bass 🎵 dirty stinking bass 🎵
OMG! did you looped kicks for making bass sound?!! And what about sub bass?!
really groovy!!love it
Dude how did you make those bass sounds ? We’re they samples you loaded or was this more from tweaking any sample ???
Short loops on kick drum samples 👍
@@crjmccc rad thanks ! Giving it a try
Fuck dude, you killed it. All volca sample videos I have seen are so cheesy and boring using the same drumcode adam beyer groove, but this one has soul! Great job, def getting this toy.
why would anyone buy Korg Volca Beats when you can have all that +more with Korg Volca Sample?
R u idiot This is “sample” if u dont know
Can I used a VOLCA SAMPLE together with a Korg KARMA synthesizer which I already have ? Can work with them together in the same time, mixing them ? Tks and HAPPY 2018 !!
yeah should be able to, ask a music store
Sick.

Eamonn Crudden Kate Tempest! nice
wow. awesome.
nice job !!!
Greetings!! I was looking for two korg volca synthesizers to play some goa or tekno. which ones would you recommend? thanks in advance!
2 x Volca Samplers :) No seriously, one Sampler and probably the Volca bass, the tones would suit you better. If you can stretch it, I'd add the Volca FM too.
Thanks!!
I let my friend borrow my Sample since I have so much gear. Umm I need to call him and get it back.
Can I sample directly from my arp odyssey to the Korg Sample? Do i need a pc to do this? Thanks!
No, but you can sample to an iOS device or pc. Then drop it in. It would be too amazing a machine if it sampled directly.
Nice! What's the synth sound you used taken from?
all samples are just drum hits. the bass sounds etc are kick drums with loop turned on.
is this multi-tibral? you can play multiple samples at once? is it like 4 part MT ?
The new Volca Sample 2, is ten parts, 9 of which can be played at the same time.
damn nice man
the samples you used in this song default ? and if yes wich one is the bass kick?
How did you get the display to show the bass/treb number when you twist the knob?
+Urine Denial Pres the FUNC buttin at same time. Just like the RATE at the Volca Bass, press FUNK und see, what happens :-)
thank ya sir
1:06 this is dark
Is it stereo?
Yes, one of 2 stereo Volca's. (The other is the Drum)
Sweeeeeeeet
dope
1.42!!!!! MMMMM
Are these any good thinking of buying one

I now have one on way I watched few vids n it persuaded me to part with my money 💰 I know I'm gon have fun with this lil machine lol
Which of the 100 standard samples did you use for the bass? Or did you use a custom bass sample uploaded to the Volca Sample?
meneerjansen00 the bass sounds are kick drum samples looped
I have an electribe 2 but just from video this looks way easier to use
Can I plug head phones into this..?
puroo_gancho yep
