Fun fact: The PAF in Eddie Van Halen's original Frankenstrat came from his ES335 guitar. He built the Frankenstrat because someone told him he'd look like Roy Orbison with an ES lol

I mean, Ritchie Blackmore played a 335 in the 60s and Purple's cover of Hush was '69 so I wouldn't be surprised if he actually recorded that song with a 335

To me the 335 is a Les Paul with more ‘space’ around the low to high mids with a more rounded central midrange. For a recording guitar, they are defiantly one of two guitars I chose to blend with my main rhythm guitar (a Les Paul) to beef up the sound (the other guitar that I blend with my 335 is a tele). They are such a versatile guitar with so many tones within them.

335's (and similar semi hollow guitars) I love them because it has a lot of the playability of a solid body guitar, yet acoustically / feel wise reverberates in your hands giving player feedback like an acoustic!

Kirk Bolas Allen Collins riff on that is one of his coolest, when Ronnie wrote the lyrics he had been to jail 11 times like it says in the opening line.
