- The government appears to have taken a hardline stance regarding the ongoing protests against the Finance Bill 2024, with a section of leaders dismissing it as “fake”, misguided and propagated by the middle class who have no experience of hardship. The question that is now being raised by a section of Kenyans and political pundits is on whether the government understands the true concerns raised by its people.

So far my understanding is those governing, some money spent on themselves (corruption) and promises made but not kept & not listening to their voters on these tax hikes.
Sadly on some other international media they just show the protests without any of the information behind it for context & understanding.
More local journalist on the ground should be given a platform on international media to give clarity.
