This woman truly cares about her customers! "Ekaw" (don't know the english word) has been found to be very unhealthy and the fact that she could have simply used it to cook the beans and saved herself hours of hard work says it all. Most beans/ waakye sellers and even individuals use this because it makes the beans soften quicker and you don't have to keep stirring...so to find a seller who does not use it is pleasantly surprising. I'm truly very impressed. Edit: “kanwu” not “ekaw” (forgive my initial spelling lol) is also called “saltpetre” or potassium nitrate (crystalline KNO3) in english. It is a substance used in the production of some soaps, gun power (or other explosives) and fertilisers. That is why it’s not very advisable for consumption.
@@hafsatumohammed no it’s not. I just did my research and it’s actually called “saltpetre” or potassium nitrate (crystalline KNO3). It is a substance used in the production of some soaps, gun power (or other explosives) and fertilisers. That is why it’s not very advisable for consumption.

Jasmine, you are an epitome of selflessness, humility and simplicity. I just love you girl, what you do and represent. Again the voice of the voiceless.
I applaud Akia's work ethics, strength, resilience, and hardwork and cleanliness. Bravo
Thank you so much for sacrificing your sleep to share Akia's life with us.
Blessings from a 🇨🇲sis in London
This was a very good watch! I love waakye. I definitely appreciate how much effort, hard work and dedication goes into making, preparing and then selling it. God bless Aunty Akin richly and enlarge her business mightily 🙏🏽
Wow! She is putting her heart and soul in that food. I am sure that all of her customers can taste the love ❤. Wishing her much success!
Nothing like outdoor cooking. Thank you for this video, to you and your team. All these women are so empowered and hard working, it's nothing but motivational and inspiring. Please keep up the hard work my sister!
Thanks so much ❤️
Even when you’re sleeping, the aroma or flavors from the early morning cooking will wet your appetite and make you hungry.
She seems so sweet and kind hearted! She deserves everything good ! ❤️
I always look forward to your content on YT, and I love your consistency! I’m definitely adding Tema to my list when I come visit! I showed my mom this video and she loves your content too. She’s homesick for Ghana and watching your videos brings her so much joy and memories 💛
So lovely ❤️
Fantastic video. So much respect for the hard working women of 🇬🇭. The food looked soooo good 😋
Bouy this woman is really hard working! I lifted my hat to her!! God’s blessings for you and your workers. Respect from New York
My goodness 😳 Jasmine, well done 👏 I can't believe you sacrificed your beauty sleep to bring us this amazing content. You are the best 👌 💓
❤️❤️
Jasmine, you know I am a real fan of yours. You are intelligent, true, and authentic. This video was amazing. It's wonderful that you are taking the time to show all of the different sides of Ghana; including the everyday lives of real people. Some of our people may not have much, but they do extraordinary things with what they do have. Keep up the good work Jasmine. God is blessing you, and thank you for your efforts. I appreciate you!
The lady so clean and good in what she does
This woman truly cares about her customers!
Ekaw is bicarbonate of soda
@@hafsatumohammed no it’s not. I just did my research and it’s actually called “saltpetre” or potassium nitrate (crystalline KNO3). It is a substance used in the production of some soaps, gun power (or other explosives) and fertilisers. That is why it’s not very advisable for consumption.
@@hafsatumohammed please Kanwu is different from bicarbonate of soda .
Kanwu is saltpetre
This Ghanaian food must be delicious! (Watching you from Brazil).
Akia works hard and she is gracious. I would not want to tell a camera my recipe secrets, Jasmine - that's her daily bread. But she deserves her own restaurant - she labors. God bless her.
Memories memories memories. Let me relax and watch. Thanks for sharing Jasmine 👍🏾
Jaz this was a homerun! Touchdown! Slam dunk and a hat trick. You informed, educated and entertained with great suspense spice with anticipation of what's to come next. I couldn't skip nor stop watching. Thanks for this brilliant work. I love what you do; Sharing showing and telling uplifting and encouraging real people stories. Best part is, you don't get in the way of the story. Thanks Jaz.

That food looked so delicious.
I was born in the caribbean 🇧🇧 Barbados to be precise and our food is similar. We cook black eye peas and rice also. We use the cow skin in soups.
Very similar to some of the foods my Jamaican grandmother used to make - especially the cowskin, my favorite meat
This is the everyday life of my beautiful Ghanaian women. God bless their hustling 🙏.
Thank you very much Jasmine and follow your bliss 😊 😀
Na life is short ❤️
THANKS AGAIN FOR SHARING YOUR LIFE ADVENTURES HERE ON UA-cam.
Great great job for highlighting our local food, this time wakye prepared the authentic and the original way plus the original Hausa stew to go with it, thumbs up. Like here in Virginia, a friend was cooking wakye and was looking for stuff to make make it that brownish colored, i just told him what akia just told you, that wakye is all about the blend of cooking rice and beans as it originated and he got the point
The strength of an African women is incomparable
This is what I call hard work, dedication and no sleep😩
Jasmine I could see the sleep pulling you away but you were a trooper 😂 I've seen you start at 5 am or so but 1am is a first.

Hey from the Northeast of Brazil. I live in the closest brazilian City to the African Continent. Jasmine, I got so emotional while watching it. Thank you your hard working as well, and hands up to the câmera person, indeed. You guys have made a very detailed and valuable work by showing these women to us. They need to be recognized enough for their steel work. I wish I could donate to her all the utensils she needs. God bless y'all. Obrigado! (thank you, in brazilian portuguese). 🖤💜👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽🇧🇷

These women are so hard working including you Jasmine.Thank you for great content
What Akia said about some sellers using rotten tomatoes is sooo true!
I knew that growing up... And I still ate that food up. A person gotta eat ya know??? 🥴😁🤤😋
Haha i never knew.
@@JasmineAmaa busted tomatoes are sold cheaper & in large quantities than good looking ones.. Hence your budget determines..
