Tbh ray hudson’s whole style of celebrating is getting old nowadays and is very repetitive. He also isn’t the smartest when it comes to analyzing the game.

Well cuz he also does Ice hockey games so that why he’s used to saying goal and shot.
that goes for almost every american commentator. i forget his name but i think hes on fox and whenever someone takes a shot he screams "THE SHOT" but it his accent makes it sound like "THE SHAT"

It's good he's showing enthusiasm but he needs moderation. That's why I feel like English and especially Spanish commentators because they are able to convey excitement even if you absolutely hate the teams guts. Christ some commentators get me excited for Arsenal or Spurs and I'm a Chelsea fan.
You should watch matches with Latin American Spanish commentators, they're one of the best

You have made me feel grateful for our commentators on BBC and ITV in the UK. My favourite is the commentator for the Germany/Brazil game in the 2014 World Cup Semi-final. The comments on UA-cam are often people quoting him, especially between the 15th and 30th minute when it really turns for Brazil. You should listen to it on FIFA's UA-cam. Although, this sort of commentator is what we are used to in the UK.

He's a great hockey commentator, I was actually excited to hear he was going to commentate Euro 2020 because I knew him well from hockey, but I agree with everything in the video in that his voice does NOT match with soccer...

Lmao, I'm a New Jersey Devils (Ice Hockey) fan. This guys is the commentator for the broadcast of their home games. I immediately recognised his voice and was very amused.

As a New York Red Bull fan I have spent the past 10 years listening to Steve cangialosi commentating over every single Red Bull game and as a kid I always thought it was sick that you had someone who gave some true American commentary to soccer games. I genuinely don’t think he’s that bad definitely over dramatic but I love him… Or maybe I’m just used to him screaming in my ear. But if you think he’s bad, his commentary partner for Red Bull games shep messing is a goat 🐐

You should try watching the matches with arab commentating, the best arab commentators are Hafidh Darradji (Algeria) , Raouf Khelif and Issam Chaouali (Both from Tuninsia) and all of them scream in every single shot, chance...etc...
Seeing that the best commentators scream, other commentators from other arab countries started screaming and that made beIN Sports the place for multiple screaming commentators

Always love your videos, but I'm just going to have to respectfully disagree with you here. Of course, sports commentary style is entirely preference-based and that's why I enjoy this non-stop/no-silence form of commentary. Growing up, I always preferred the Spanish coverage of my favorite European leagues (EPL, Bundesliga, LaLiga, etc.) over the English coverage simply based on the virtue of the narration/commentary. There's a certain wit, excitement, and banter that just elevates the game-watching experience. This preference of mine is always cemented when I watch South American football (Copa Libertadores, Copa Sudamericana, Copa America, South American WCQ, etc.) too. Everything--from transitory passing to threaded passes behind a team's backline to one-on-one opportunities to missed chances to goalkeeping saves and finally, goals--are all experienced on what I feel is a deeper, visceral level. Yet, I know it's not everyone's cup of tea, so "to each their own."
Exactly! I also prefer spanish coverage, particularly Argentinian commentators for their passion and enthusiasm. American commentators sometimes go silent for straight minutes 💀
I agree but there's something about the English language that just makes this style not work for me, I think it's the groaning and forced sound, while in Spanish it sounds more natural.
