I would love to have a truck like that to pull a gooseneck with specially the car hauler I'm trying to get for to haul 3 to 4 trucks on it for truck that'd be a perfect truck to haul my whole trucks
I remember seeing several of these on the road and around rodeos. I always thought they were so cool. I’m glad to see y’all rescue this one.

Had to know so I googled it . That is the federal coach emblem . They do hearse conversions on Cadillacs . The roof line does look similar . That thing looks like a truck a 5th grader drew as a dream car then got rich and built it

Y'all are doing some cool stuff to this "Rodeo" pick em up truck. It sure is different with the 3 doors, that is fer sure.
It's a shame about the rust up above the windshield and along the drip rails. That alone is some serious work to be done.

My 2nd gen 5 speed had the 5th gear backoff i call it. Plus, the previous owner shifted like he was on a bucking bronco and exploded several gears... $1500 later its good to go. Btw stacks done right especially like that roll equal coal and sound great!

My folks had one the first year i believe they came out with the Cummins motor. The big gas motors would pass them on the flats but in the mountains pulling a 38 or 39ft 5th wheel they would pass the gas trucks.
They have a lot of power!

Looks identical from the stacks to under the hood. He had it back 2012.
Where did u find it.
The 5th gear bolt rotates the wrong direction for the threads on the bolt. Eventually that gear will spin off. Go in and retap it for a left handed thread then it will never come off again
Wondering if that is the same "Federal" conversion company that makes funeral coaches? If so, that is very well built.

My truck does that aswel. Been that way for years. Just have to go to N then back to 5th then it’ll let you downshift.

THat thing sounds and looks like its been turned up, A little bit a timing, injector and some pump work and you can really get some power out them 5.9's, power driven diesel has been doing crazy things with them.

👍👍nice rig feller...have had a couple getrag rigs...had piss poor luck with the gutrags..they failed in various ways, including the cover...ive since learned to repair the autos,but anyway 👊
A lot of people recommend 2nd Gen swapping them
@@RealSteelFabrications I guess...but,the autos can actually withstand more torque when assembled properly with the correct components... although that is quite expensive...it depends what the individual prefers...I just got sick of shifting gears 🤣,but anyway 👍👍👊

Slight correction from 3:37 when you called it transmission fluid, since manual transmissions take gear oil due to gear oil creating less wear on the synchros adding to more power transfer while being able to create less drag. That also explains why it looked so nasty when you drained it.

Thats actually the first time we ever worked on a transmission so not comfortable doing work for anyone yet and we are in Missouri
