That's why I fell in love with airplanes since I was a Kid. Sadly though, by the time I wanted to be a pilot I could not make it, because I had to have 20-20 vision. that was along time ago, yet I tried my best at being a passenger in many airplanes, including the Concorde's last flight from Paris to Caracas.
I guess taxi clearance was optional back then ;-)
Yeah, that was funny. Also, his buddy must have been handling the throttles and mixtures since one hand was on the stick and the other on the starter. That’s not how I start a C310. Maybe it was done differently in 1960. Lol!
I used to be a controller, and we sure came a massively long way from dressing like that at work, though I sometimes, very much wish we did.
