    Hi Jan! Hope this finds you and Mike well. Congrats to Mike on having his book nearly ready to be published. Follow the Sun is fabulous. I love the petunias especially as you rarely see them in stitching. The postcard sized designs based on your travels sound like so much fun. Love all your Florigraphica II Designs to date. Love the red thread you used on Arabesque. The alphabet is so gorgeous all by itself. Excellent design! Have a wonderful time at Market. Tell Mike to get those fish to cooperate! Dawn in Texas

    When you held up the German sampler I kept saying, “Jan, it’s upside down! But finally I realized that lamb is supposed to be that way. 😂 Absolutely LOVE the colors in that one! Looking forward to seeing your cruise video.

    Your designs for the Nashville Needlework Market 2024 are EXQUISITE! My only concern is that my stitching skills might not be up to the level these designs require. As an aside, you have a voice that I could listen to forever--both cultured and soothing. Thank you for sharing for immense talents with the stitching community!!!

    Time to subscribe!
    I have been looking for a monochromatic stitch for a while. Arabesque fits the bill perfectly! Deep greens and blues are my usual choice but this beautiful clear red is calling to me ! I’m looking for a silk with a long slow subtle color change to render Arabesque in. Any suggestions?
    I am also enchanted with the African daisy!
    I usually don’t “ manipulate “ color changes… but I’m going to give it a try. I’ll be at the Philadelphia flower show in March. I’ll be looking for some inspiration to play with color!
    I really enjoy following your travels, Jan, thank you!

    Lovely to see you and your beautiful new releases. If only I could stitch all the things; and not be concerned about expense and time. 🤣. I finally am getting organized with glasses, lighting, and fabric count after my cataract surgery. It should be easier for me. I think my favorites are Florigraphica 3 ( but I haven’t done 1 and 2) and Arabesque (red sampler). I will have to see as I have a couple of yours as wips (in my WIPGO FOR ‘24).🤦🏼‍♀️And I am behind on that already and it’s only February 😢
    Looking forward to whatever video you do next to show us all you have been doing.
    What genre books does Mike write? I did not realize he was a writer ✍️…..I love to read.
    Continued safe travels 🤗

    Thank you for sharing I’m a new stitcher which one would you recommend that would be easy to stitch? 😊

    • @JanHicksCreates
      @JanHicksCreates  8 місяців тому

      It’s always good to start with smaller projects, to get the feel of it and have that feeling of accomplishment sooner. So I would recommend Fall Sunshine. One of the other great things about Fall Sunshine is that it has big patches of the same color, so you don’t have to change your thread color often. I do have a series of videos called Basics of Cross Stitch. If you haven’t watched that yet, you might find it useful. You can find a link to that playlist in my show notes. Enjoy and let me know if you have any questions!

    Wonderful charts Jan. Was the German sampler you showed upside down? Maybe i wasn't see it correctly. Stay safe🤗🇬🇧

    • @JanHicksCreates
      @JanHicksCreates  8 місяців тому +1

      No, it wasn’t upside down, though some of the motifs are. There are ones upside down and sideways all over this sampler. I believe the stitcher turned her fabric so she could reach some of the spots better to fit motifs in.

    • @JanHicksCreates
      @JanHicksCreates  8 місяців тому

      @@mrsmiggins6435 Oh, no worries! I didn’t take it as such. I get asked that all of the time. One of my other recent reproductions, Colors of Mexico, also has elements that are upside down. It really bothers them and I just tell them to feel free to flip those elements around when they stitch it!
