Great review bro. I’m not gonna lie, and maybe it’s just me: this run was a struggle for me to get through when I first read it when the trades was coming out. The over complicated explanations, cable being a savior (wasn’t much of a fan of that), I do agree with you I like the buddy cop aspect but man was this messy for me to read. Loveeeee the artwork though. That was solid.
What’s funny is this was my first exposure to Cable when I read it in the ultimate collection paperbacks like a decade ago. So when I read his earlier appearances in X-men and X-force and things like that I was amazed at how much this interpretation deviated from our first looks at Cable as a character. I think Cable grew more likable as this run progressed. Deadpool I feel was pretty solid I liked how Nicieza handled him and the art for me just worked all the way through. That being said there were definitely Moments this series dragged particularly near the end for me, but still a fun one in my book :) Thanks for commenting and watching man. Yeah it’s a very fun one-off kind of series. You can read it without knowing a ton about the characters and have a great standalone adventure. I know I enjoyed it, certainly some memorable moments. Art is real solid throughout in my opinion. 📚 Thanks for stopping by!
I Loved this run, but I did not like how it ended with the series killing of Cable and just having Deadpool, both character work with each other very well
The series definitely pivoted in the last few issues, still fun but really shined when we got to see that kind of buddy comedy/action vibe between the two title characters 👏📚
