Even Oda admitted that Luffy vs Zoro fight was pretty out of character for them, and said that today he wouldn’t do anything like that. I’m pretty sure it was his editor’s suggestion to boost manga’s popularity or something like that.
@@Illuminatic I can absolutely see that being the case. It does at least feel plausible that Luffy's strong sense of justice could blind him to a greater awareness. It was a neat idea to explore, but it's nice to hear it won't be a regular thing!
END - Zoro VS 100 Baroque Works goons was definitely the highlight of the episodic trio in this video.
17:00 - honestly, Mr. 5 PROBABLY said that because back in the early days of One Piece, it was gonna be East Blue Saga, this Saga, and then another Saga, followed finally with the Island with The One Piece. but Oda had succintly changed his mind regarding that plan, a common recurrence within One Piece, so i wouldnt take that too much to heart.
Yeah, I figured that probably had something to do with it. But it still works as an interesting perspective. People who have been living at the Grand Line probably do see it as the end. Where Luffy and crew would see it as a beginning.
12:45 - a giant Karoo plushie would be nice, i must say.

btw i love how luffy fights zoro on whisky peak beacause while they having some fun, they just casually clap away the Baroque agents with one hit which interrup them "serious" fight XD

I will absolutely keep up with comments! My audience is my audience, whether they've paid for advanced viewing or not.
I mostly set up the Membership for compiling the videos ahead of time. Even I get some neat perks I didn't have before.
For example, when I would schedule a video before, it was considered private, and you cannot leave comments on private videos. So I had to try to be around the same moment the video went live to write something up and pin it.
I'm just enjoying the idea that I can work ahead and at least someone will be able to see what I've done, instead of waiting weeks and months.
But, I have a very ambitious idea for EVERYONE planned around the holidays. But I'll need about.... 35 videos made ahead of time.
Christmas is just around the corner... shh...🤫.

18:45 - i think only the hardcore weebs use "Arabasta", the Funimation DUB and most everyone else says "Alabasta" as it's a twist on ALABASTER which is a shade of White, which considering the Kingdom it addresses it's pretty spot on. JP pronunciation tends to blend L and R sounds when speaking, kinda something i've noticed through reactions.
I definitely think we opt to cherrypick among those pronunciations. Like how my manga says Roronoa Zolo. I'm not much of a fan of that one.
The Alabasta for alabaster makes the most sense, aye.

I'm not sure when it happens, but It does seem like it gets corrected to Zoro eventually in the English manga, from what I've read.

35:45 - with it being the execution of Roger, King of the Pirates, i'd imagine all manner of folk were there, they just werent pointed out in Smoker's flashback.
No spoilers or anything but the thing I took from the cursed blade was that the other peoeple who had it weren’t worthy or strong enough to use it and eventually the curse got them killed. Zoro is a person definitely worthy enough for a sword like that, so it wouldn’t be much of an issue for him to use it.

Today I bring you a few funfacts as well!
- Someone already mentioned it so I'm gonna start with it: The Zoro versus Luffy fight was something Oda got pressured to put in by his editor and thats why Luffy seems a bit out of character and doesnt listen to Zoro. Now the reason why the editor wanted it included was due to the popularity of the naruto versus sasuke fight in that respective anime. There are some other instances where oda included something due to an editors suggestion but as far as I know this stayed the only time he ever regretted it
- Karoo and Sanji actually share voice actors! When later asked what animal represented each strawhat the best oda answered duck for sanji which was probably inspired by this^^ Interestingly enough Zeff ships figurehead when he was still a pirate was also a duck
- the decision to make vivi a princess was made on the whim. Oda already had the Alabasta arc planned out and knew that he would need a princess for it but was unsure how to introduce or design her. The arc with laboon and the first half of whiskey peak already aired when he decided that Miss wednesday and I quote: " Kinda looked like a princess anyway" and so he decided to recycle the character and end the arc with the great plottwist you have seen here
It's funny that the Princess Vivi reveal got me. Since I knew what Vivi looked like from random. Twitter posts, but the fact that it was Miss Wednesday as well really surprised me.
Even when I was looking through Instagram because I swear I saw her cast and she wasn't there, just everyone else, it still didn't click.
So I'm super grateful for everyone letting that moment happen organically. That was super fun!
I think what I had initially been thinking is there was an instagram post from an OP fan account that was doing a speculative casting and they had mentioned the actress was spotted in South Africa (maybe also spotted with Inaki Godoy?).
It's all that fuzzy memory, I tell ya!
I gotta admit, editing the Three Piece reactions is pretty painful, but I'm really enjoying the idea of making sure we end an arc with multiple episodes in the reaction.
Recording is fun, but man, oh man, editing. Haha. Now that I know the pain, I don't think I'd ever have the heart to hire one and out them through what I went through. It's a kindness to continue doing it myself!
I mistakenly thought the next episodes were Little Garden, but in actuality, it was a Two Piece with Coby and Helmeppo! So I'll have 10 episodes to work through this week!
Starting Little Garden tonight after dinner. Can't wait!

21:15 - easy on those thoughts, Vivi is actually age 16 at this point in the story. but just to be translucent, my mind came to the same conclusion.
I'm not sure what thinking Mr. 9 reminding me of Razor Ramon HG has to do with Vivi being 16? Maybe the timestamp was off?
OH! The rings. Haha. No no, I didn't know where she was pulling them from. I think during the editing I saw that the stripes in her dress are like a bandolier for them? They look like small pockets in one of the frames.
Nothing dirty. It just happens so fast that I couldn't tell. Haha.
