I love what you both are doing, question i have a old barn and the doors 🚪 are basically falling apart,so can i install one of them garage door to cover the big door opening like you have, thank you in advance.
You guys have gone a long way on the homestead, still say you guys have the best videos on you Tube. Nice to have a garage to work on things. God Bless
Gotta love Princess Auto for their random stuff... Garage/Shop is looking real good. Bet it’ll be a relief to get some shelving and work tables installed. I can’t stand it when I can’t find my stuff... gotta be organized.
Ashley, you are amazing worker! Some people just have nothing nice to say! ! Jeremy and you have a great sense of humor that is hilarious. Thank you for making these awesome videos,
The old timers taught me "can't put a saddle on a dead horse", meaning for those cable clamps, the U-bolt goes against the short cable and the "saddle" against the long. It should be fine on that, I worked on cranes and big stuff so it was more of a concern. Also we'd cut the frayed ends off by using an acetylene torch; it "cauterizes" all the frayed ends together (melting the steel wires together). Now you can use a 4-1/2" grinder with a cutting wheel to cut the frayed end off. A propane torch can get a few wires hot enough to melt them together, cauterizing the wires together. Just some cable tips I learned over the years. :)
Thank you for sharing the journey. I think some people think what they say in the comments section is more important than the channel. Anonymity does not give you the right to be rude. Thanks for the video. Looking forward to the continuing journey. Stay safe. Peace!
one guy doesn't like you out of thousands of subscribers? Ashley..sounds like you're the winner..any way..Jeremy loves you..that was a sweet reply..I think some people on you tube are just there to take out their own frustrations..looks like a bunch of tedious jobs with big results on your vehicle and garage. You two are a joy to watch..love you..stay safe and warm.
One of man's greatest desires a garage / workshop !! We gotta have our tools, boats and Harleys. God first , wife , children , family and our toys !! You guys work well together . Ashley does an amazing job !!
Don’t matter some ppl just has to complain! I enjoy your videos, I’m glad to see a veteran doing so good for his self and family. You could show some hunting if it’s allowed!!
Thanks, we showed a bit of our black bear harvest a couple of months ago and a bit of a deer harvest a couple of years ago. Would love to do more though.
You guys are sooooo cool building your own house starting with 2 people thats really cool and building your own farm and garage you guys are inspiering
Its amazing how far you guys have come from starting with raw land. Just imagine how much you would have done if you didn't have Ashley holding you back and slowing you down! Lol J/K Ashley....dont knock me in the head with a hammer! 🤣
Woohoo the Typar is on, it is good to see the garage coming along nicely. And who doesn't like Ashley, she is an in creditable hard worker and she has a lot of patients, love and blessings to you all, from Scotland :) :)
Good to see the garage gift wrapped for Christmas - bit like my kinda wrapping. One thing - it was great to see you enjoying working on vehicles in the garage and using a jack on a flat firm surface which is way nicer than on uneven gravel outside eh. Thanks guys
Hi Kids, I heard a couple of "Frank's" today bt you are working great together. Whoever said that Ashley doesn't do enough or work obviously hasn't been watching your channel very long. They never taught us that thing about women not wanting to live in the wilderness in the USA either. We love your videos and disregard the haters. God Bless you. Missing Sam because she is so cute.. Frank
It has come a long ways and looks great!! Tie a 2 ft. piece of rope on the corner door plate made to put a rope on to pull the door down!! I think yall do a great job working together.
When your looking for steel cables, chains, cable clamps, clevises, pins hair pins etc. A good place to look into is ag stores like JD, NH, MF, Kubota, they have a lot of these items on hand.
In Australia we say every man should have his workshop, in your case the family need it , I get so annoyed at people saying they don’t like the work your doing although I don’t mind that as much as pick on the person I think you are fabulous, the people who write these things need to get out and get a life. Just forget them keep up the dream you are living , and remember for every 1 person who doesn’t like you there’s 1000s that love what you do , good luck and keep safe can someone tell me what was the reasoning behind 15 people with the thumbs down
Nice to see you got the plow hooked and it serves as a reminder for me to attach my plow blade to our lawn tractor and put the chains and weights on it. I hate having to do it on the day a big snow storm hits. So far we had an inch of snow in Northwest Indiana
The garage is coming along fantastically. When you put your garage door opener on make sure you get one with a keypad to put outside. I know you have a man door that goes through but if you're like most people we keep that locked. With that being locked you don't need your keys to get in and out of the garage by using your keypad. That was the best investment I ever did. In my case my garage is so big that even if I left the man door unlocked I would have to walk all that distance just to open my door. Also when you start putting lights up don't use fluorescent bulbs. For recent bulbs absolutely suck in the winter. Most of the time you cannot get them to light up. Your best off with going with nothing but LEDs. I'm in the middle of ordering parts to change all my fluorescent lights over to LEDs. My friends laugh when they come over for me to work on something of theirs or just to hang out in my garage. They Tell me I have enough light to do surgery in my garage. And my garage is truly a man cave I have cable television out there hooked up to a surround sound system. All that stuff can come later after you finish building your garage. If you can when you run your electric over to your garage try to do it with a trench and not above ground. It looks a lot better and you don't need to worry about branches or anything else hitting your power lines. Everything running to my garage including water and sewage is all underground all the electric is underground and when I added cable TV I ran that underground along with some internet wire. I can now plug a computer in and I also have a telephone out there. Can't wait to see how you guys finish everything is looking great.
Just thinking you could put a future extension on the back, shed roof type, to give you a work area when truck is parked in garage. Off the side too, as equipment shed.
I did a Google search on outdoor ladder hooks, then clicked images. WOW! a lot of cool ideas. They even have racks for fishing poles on the inside of your roll up garage door. Check it out for fun ideas. Great work. Awesome you can start working inside. Can't wait to see how you deck it out in there! Have a good weekend!🔨🧰
Small platform under that window, a comfortable chair, excellent shot at that 10 point under the apple trees you have yet to plant- good idea- unless you've made them your pets-
Damn you two are so fun and entertaining...wait someone is trolling Ashley, that’s so messed up. Your videos are edited just right, movie clips spot on aye. Glad this winter is taking it easy the last 3 were just too much!
When I built my 24’ X 30’ detached garage I bought two 10’ X 8’ overhead doors first and built the garage around them, so glad I went 8’ tall, not much won’t fit in there.
All the best people love you Ashley! Awesome garage work! Hope you had both of those propane tanks filled. How many would you go through in a year? Love to all the family!
Question, why is the ladder lying outside on the ground? You need to build a garage to store those things in......lol...... Great job!......looks wonderful!....
Snugly wrapped and less air sneaking n. The window looks good even if it is small. I think you both are glad all the wrapping is finally done. Will you heat the garage?

@@stephenhill2348 Hey, as long as the opening is framed out right with the appropriate header then you should be able to get a door that fits it :)

Where are you putting your workbench? With hooks on the wall you could put the extra pins in the Ziploc bag and hang them on the wall.
Haven't decided yet, but on one of the sides and not the back.
There is a such a thing as a ring with a tiny cutting blade on it. Its used to cut string.
You need a cable cutter - or change the side by side cable to synthetic rope
Nice! Dried in and beat the weather. Can't ask for more than that.
Looking good, now you can put the gym in there, and get the house looking normal lol xx
They are awesome
Get a synthetic rope for the winch ! Much better then steel cable .
Great work on the garage. Now comes the siding maybe before it gets cold eh?
Siding is for the spring time :)
When I built my 24’ X 30’ detached garage I bought two 10’ X 8’ overhead doors first and built the garage around them, so glad I went 8’ tall, not much won’t fit in there.

We got both filled, yes. And we go through 1 / month in the winter and probably 1 every 2 months in the summer.
You two make a great team.
Hard to tell which way you installed those cable clamps. A good little saying to remember when installing cable clamps is " never sadle a DEAD horse".
oops.
I came here to say the same. Rod beat me to it, LOL
That military training programing Ashley certainly has paid off ha,ha :-) ;-). Great job!...Have a great weekend and stay safe! :-)
great teamwork
Never knew they taught you that !!!!! Look into my eyes !!!! You are getting sleepy , very sleepy !!! LOL , Garage is coming along good !!
I think Jeremy could use an impact wrench for Christmas. Lol great video thanks for sharing.
haha, I have 2 Impact guns, I just never think to use them haha.
