Great vid! Just did both my front shocks. My only tip for someone who has never done this, would be to start on the passenger side. The driver's side has more obstructions to deal with.
Hey Dude, little Red -head guy: I love your vids, here on 1Aauto and on that TQR, /TRQ or whatever............. I've just bought a "Beautiful Specimen" of a 2nd Gen '01 Ram 1500 Sport, and I'm going to do my 2 rear shocks this weekend, and the 2 front, when I get them. Love your vids man. Thanks!
Mine won’t fall into place like that idk if the shop who did these before me tightened it so much that it’s bent or what but your video makes it seem so easy and yet I’ve been trying to do this for 2 days now smh
It won't be nearly has hard as this. I have Rancho shocks coming for my 2004 ram this week. It will be easier if you jack up the truck and take the wheel off
Seems like each time I try to find a 2012 RAM shock replacement they take me to every other year. I'm sure that I can do the swap in my driveway for the rear shocks, but the front I believe I have to have it lifted???
I'm going to get some new shocks from u all for Shure. My question is how come the shocks on front end on my ram come shooting out. And the one you're doing didn't even hardly do anything?
Is the front driver shock and passenger shock the same one because I only need one and online it says for a passenger side I don’t see one that says driver
I have a 1996 Dodge Ram 1500 and the Front shocks are not even close to the way this one is Installed ............ Mine looks like it is mounted as part of the upper control arm ??
Next time actually show how the hardest side is done what kind of instructional video leaves out half of the job? Everyone can do the passenger side let's see the drivers side before everyone wastes their time watching this

Is there a torque for that nut that goes on the groment
Awesome to find a video that isn't on a rust free truck for those of us In the rust belt, we applaud you.
Glad you guys picked a truck that has seen cold weather and has rusted parts, I know how sometimes the rust factor can complicate the job.
+Elwood Blues Thanks for the feedback!
Will always buy my parts through a1 just because they take the time to make the videos to help people
love how young and energetic this guy is lol. in 22 and always get yelled at for moving to fast around the shop lol.
I really LOVE your PATIENCE!!!!!!!
Love all the 2nd Gen Ram content, your videos have helped me immeasurably!

Good job making repairs to this veerkle.
I too have bought the KYB's.......Thanks AGAIN!
I really wish you would have done the harder side. Master cylinder and brake lines in the way. I’ll figure it out. Passenger side is simple.
Mine won’t fall into place like that idk if the shop who did these before me tightened it so much that it’s bent or what but your video makes it seem so easy and yet I’ve been trying to do this for 2 days now smh
how about the drivers side? without hitting the brake controller?
That is exactly what I came here to find out, passenger side is pretty intuitive
sawzall
I have a 2004 model, a third gen. Is it a lot different? Do you need to Jack the truck up to change the shocks?

Paul Govensky depends,if it’s 2wd then you don’t have to lift it
Another great video pelón!
How much they are?
I'll be needing a leveling kit too..

Great information..
It is a lot easier to take the wheel off and get a pry bar in there to pry the shock up.
+Kaleb Crafts Thanks for the tip!
Sometimes it isn't especially if the truck is lifted like mine is and I sont always have access to a lift
@@rachaelthomas2265 That's the problem I'm running into too
Great video. Thank you!

Do you need a also change the spring
Thanks again Lenny-

Job Well Done
+Joe Darden Thank you! We appreciate it!
What do you do if you brake a stud?
How long does it take to do this ?
@1:20 : I love the "Tappy-Tap-Tap" #AVE
Outstanding
+Joe Darden Thanks for the feedback!
How do I know when I need to replace the shocks?
Did he raise the truck for this
I've noticed on the VIDS, (both), you've only done the right side,,,,,,,is the LEFT SIDE much HARDER?????????????
And of course they show how to do the easy side not the hard side
Sooper impor-ent
Veerical is 4wd , perfect 👍
Where can I get another fender nut?
They’re basic nuts. Ace hardware, Home Depot, etc.
Figures that damn air inlet is always in the way
Am waiting you to replace it😂😂😂
why remove the top tower? Cant you just remove the top nut on the shock and pull it out from below?
Unfortunately no
You should really put the year of the truck on the name of video
Good reminder to never live in an area that rusts your car
This only works on a 4x4
A1

No help a rwd not 4 wheel
+Stan’s Auto Repair We do not have a video for this repair right now, but we'll keep this request in mind for a future video! 1AAuto.com
This video lies. It does not apply to a 98 dodge ram, or probably any after.
