Woww! Your ideas are really too good! As I have a large collection of Bobbins & Threads, I think I will make these organisers. Thanks a Lot for sharing your Knowledge. Please share more of your tutorials.

I like these good ideas you show here. How do you keep bobbin threads from being loose and unravelling when you store them in these clever boxes? It drives me insane! Thank you.
Hi Carol, thank you so much for watching! The bobbins actually stay in place in my boxes, especially in the one with the dowels. If you get the ideal size of dowels for your bobbins, they will stay in place. I took my bobbin with me to the hardware store and picked the dowels on which the bobbins would sit tight enough, but where it would be also easy enough to remove the bobbin. Now the bobbins fit perfectly on the dowels and can't get lose at all. In the chocolate box - if you can close it so that it won't come open, you'll be fine. There is not much space between the lid and the bobbins in my case. But it of course depends on the type of chocolates box you are using. I would recommend the box with the dowels. Greetings form Vienna!
Hi Bettina 😊 First of all, thank you so much for your kind words and the incredibly nice feedback - you just made my day! And you were pretty close - I am from Austria! I am kind of an European blend - Czech/Russian/German - my granny was originally from Germany. I have been living in Vienna since over 20 years, though, so I consider myself an Austrian. I love Germany! So ganz liebe Grüße aus Wien meine Liebe und nochmals vielen Dank!
Hi, I bought some spray in a local hardware store, I think it was the house brand. I simply red the instructions where it said for what surface it was good and I picked one that was ok for cardboard. So it doesn't have to be anything special. You could also use acrylic paint, but I find that spray paint gives it much smoother surface.
That depends: if you already have a few dowels at home anyway and an old box, it makes sense. Another reason could be that you want to have a certain size, so you can make your own version. Or if you simply want to be creative. Or if you wouldn't want a plastic bobbin box. To each their own reason I guess 😃 For me it was a fun project and now I have a box I made ad it brings me joy. I didn't want a cheap plastic box that needed to be shipped oversea either. I like homemade stuff. Thanks for watching!
@@SewingLara Yes, you make very good points. I have been storing my bobbins in a box for years, but I have decided to attach them to the tops of my spools and keep them together. I don't know which is better but I am ready for a change. I have bins with my large embroidery thread spools in them, and they fell over and got tangled. So my husband put a thin little board in the bottom and drilled holes in it and put dowels in. Now my spools stand up straight.
@@petmomful2260 oh, it's the worst when they get tangled, right? I have one box with my yarn that doesn't have compartments and the yarn is like labyrinth 😅
Exactly what I was hoping for. Excellent and inexpensive.
Great! Thanks for watching.

Are you from Germany? :)
Obviously you are. I always thought good youtubers come from everywhere, but not from my country. This idea is amazing. :)

which spray is it?

Nice idea, but if you have to buy dowels and stuff, why not just buy a bobbin case?

@@SewingLara Yes. I have my yarn in a locking bin under my bed. It has to lock or my ferret gets in it and makes a mess. lol
Haha, too cute! Give your ferret belly rubbs from me. Or whatever cuddles they like :)
Great job!
Thank you!
