Bro be PROUD! Nucular is featuring YOUR videos (this one) in email whe i asked them a question aboutbthe battery they linked this video! Id be super PROUD! can wait to see how far you go...
I just purchased an ERide Pro SS and the Talaria XXX is my next one. I really appreciate the time you take to not only show, but also explain the steps. Thank you!!!
Yes, exactly. This ERide Pro SS 2.0 is just incredible and is more formulated for off road. Just my personal opinion, the geometry, the battery removal, and the fact you get the Talaria XXX with Super Moto tires when you order from Luna Cycle makes it seem like a much better daily and street rider. Your channel is amazing and I am also looking to either do a Razor build or something new. Is there any way to directly message you or have you message me? I'm very interested in Frankensteining some mini emotos.
Damn pat you're making me want to build a talaria now... I just finished my razor build recently i don't need to put myself in more debt lmao! On the plus side though on the razor i can call it a kids toy when i get pulled over since i still have stock plastics XD.
Since you were testing the top speed, I was wondering if you were just going to blow through that light 😅. Great video as usual bro! Maybe Nucular will take note of your recommendations.
very nice i like how you got innovative with battery leads making them fit better im sure once you gear change you will be at 60+ with minimal torque loss now that your running the new battery 😎👏🏽☝🏽
Dude I had a crash and slide on my x3 today, and my display cable/wire got shredded. Luckily the bike still powers on and rides fine, but the display doesn’t power on at all. The display is fine, also the male end of the cable is fine, but I need to replace the female end that goes down into the bike. I checked Luna’s website but I don’t think they sell it. You can buy a replacement display, but it appears to only come with the male connector. You seem very knowledgeable on the subject, I was hoping you could point me in the right direction. Thanks in advance, and I subbed.
Dang you may have to replace the main harness if you damaged beyond the connector by the handlebar unfortunately.. I recommend contacting Luna OR EbikeZilla if you need that portion of the harness, both are pretty good with keeping OEM replacement parts in stock.
Thanks for the reply, I joined a talaria group on fb, and the guys there suggested the same. New harness is needed, but I saw it for under $100 on ebikezilla. Hopefully I can replace it myself
Sorry mate was just reading the comments 74v nominal is because nominal voltage of the li-ion cell used is 3.7v x 20 gives you 74v nominal (actual nom volts of cell is 3.66v)
Pat great vids man! Building my first ebike ever and gona upgrade the power with the same battery and controller just a quick question...about what do you get for range with that setup? Is it about the same as stock? Thanks and keep em coming!
So I have not actually performed a range test yet with the new power. I’m planning on attempting a 70-mile ride in 2-3 weeks from now and will post an update on how many miles I’m able to squeeze out of one charge. I’m suspecting it will give up around 50-60 miles (depending on how much throttle I use and the terrain conditions)
It's specifically made for the X3 / XXX so yes it's a perfect fit. It comes with a battery cover to fit it, along with a wiring harness. You need to purchase a charger separately. I got everything from Charged Cycle Works (link is in the description of the video.) Also you need an upgraded controller for this to work.
First of all great video. I actually had a question. It might be a dumb one sorry about that. I never had an ebike before and I know nothing about them. I am thinking of buying a talaria XXX. If I change the battery and the controller like you did but don't cut the wire, will my bike go faster? If I have to cut the wire, is there a way to switch it off and turn it on when i want?
@@crocolandchacala These are not dumb questions. Wish there was someone there for me to answer the same back then. The new controller came with a new wiring harness, which no longer has a brown wire to cut. The new controller allows you to make fine adjustments to the tune. The original factory controller is restricted by that brown wire (which you can install a switch for, but no point really if you just switch back to eco mode.) The factory controller is only compatible with 60 volt batteries so I needed to upgrade the controller in order to install the higher voltage battery.
@@PatOutdoors Thanks a lot for taking the time to answer me, I really appreciate it. I have been looking around for answers to these questions for a while now but no one in my country could answer me. The craze about ebike is just starting here so most of us are new to this lol. Since as you said, the new controller has a new wiring harness with no brown wire. If I install a new controller, does that means that the limiter on my speed limit will be removed and I can tune it just like you did in the video ? To be honest, I just want my bike to go a little bit faster I don't need a rocket like yours hahaha
My Xion CyberX does about 62MPH but it is heavy as hell 225 lbs was thinking about buying Talaria XXX just because it's lighter. Now that there's a 72V battery I might do it now
Yeah lack of aftermarket controllers and battery options have been holding back the potential of these bikes for a long time. But just the last two months, there are several options now available!
My controller won’t seem to keep the new cell count saved any help with that maybe? It’s doing the same thing it did to you but this time with my cell count
@ I do yea I have the ewatt 74v. Like in your video when it didn’t want to change the discharge make mine is just doing that with cell count, if I can’t fix it how bad would be if I didn’t?
@ if anything like I said it’s just my cell count setting that won’t save everything especially power wise and battery wise is good. So how bad is it if I can’t change my cell count
Well I’m not on the stock controller so there’s no more “sport mode.” Just 3 different modes with 3 different speed limit and amp outputs. My lowest mode 1 is set at 100 amps all the way to mode 3 at 350 amps. Closest I have to factory sport is mode 1, which I will likely be using in my attempt to do 70 miles (2 weeks from now.) will post a video once I finish testing.
Have not been tested yet with the new power level! I’m attempting a 60-70 mile ride in about two weeks and post an update to confirm when it runs out of charge
@@PatOutdoors oh fair play buddy. I have not had mine for too long so the torque is a nice new thing for me. Even standard. Can you sacrifice some torque for top end speed on the controller? Just seems like another bike for essentially ten mph and a little more bite. Maybe a few hundred miles and I'll change my mind 😂✌️.
@@LithiumIonDon well this bike now goes 63 MPH with a 44T rear sprocket swap. The Nucular controller is limited with total power output though, 16ish KW max. Pretty much maxed out stock motor at this point though. Likely switching to a Sotion motor later once the motor eventually fails and hopefully I’ll hit 70+ MPH then

Lucky no one running that stale red light from the other way, bike seems awesome, 60mph is pretty crazy.

Congrats on the Eride! Out of curiosity, what’s the purpose of the XXX if you already have a Pro SS? One for dirt and one for street?

That’s why I keep my razor around!

I remember the old video you did about the L-faster kit. You come a long way pat

Hi Pat grind 2 relief slots into the terminal guard and you can refit it.
I may do this when I get my frame powder coated or when I fit a bigger motor in at a later time 👍🏾

I’m really curious if you have fw on or not if so how much
FW?
How much is the battery
For an extra 10mph 🤔
That’s not the point. It’s how fast it gets to 60..
So after all the upgrades of the controller and the battery, it only goes 60mph??
Goes 63 MPH after changing the sprocket and some settings. Still a stock motor..
@@PatOutdoors how much faster would it go with an upgraded motor and how much would that cost
Now you can put 18"/21" wheels and tires on it.
I don’t think so. The swing arm doesn’t have space for an 18” wheel/tire combo for the rear
Sorry to bother, but what's the difference between 72v and 74v?😅 In my understanding they are all 20s, just manufacturers mark them differently...
because you only get the full 74 for a little bit
It's just nonsense like DeWalt selling 20v batteries. They're just 18v in countries with stricter laws they are sold as 18v.
What headlight do you have on that XXX? Link?
It’s the factory headlamp
What’s the range you get on that battery’s

put some lighter street wheels on it. Might help
