My name is Chatz and I welcome you to my channel. In the past I used this channel as my personal music library. I enjoy listening to Classical and Relaxing music because they help to calm my overactive mind. If you have the same taste then I think you will like my full playlist.
I have made lot of lyric videos for popular french and italian songs. It's one of my hobbies to learn modern languages that evolved from old Latin language. As part of that effort I thought of making those videos.

Dopo un attimo di smarrimento, il maestro fa cenno ai suoi musicisti che subito attaccano a suonare 'O sole mio.
Tutta la folla nello stadio applaude e canta a gran voce i versi di questa che, forse, è una delle più popolari canzoni del XX secolo.
'O sole mio era stata scritta da Giovanni Capurro, giornalista e uomo di cultura, nel 1898. Aveva dato poi il suo testo ad un amico, Eduardo di Capua, che di mestiere faceva il "posteggiatore" (cioè cantava nei
ristoranti e nei luoghi di ritrovo) e che l'aveva musicata.
In seguito i due hanno venduto la canzone all'Editore Bidieri - per 25 lire! - che l'ha fatta partecipare al più importante "festival" della canzone napoletana, la festa di Piedigrotta.

There is no 'jurnata' in Italian. The correct word is "giornata", which means "afternoon". That is what the song is about: an afternoon alone. "Sole mio" literally means "only me".
Catherine B I believe in this song “sole mio” means “my sun”. It is Neapolitan dialect, so “jurnata” is written to show that is pronounced differently than giornata.

No. There are a lot of errors. As I said above, the word for 'afternoon' is NOT 'jurnata'; it is 'giornata'.

It absolutely is NOT Pavarotti. He was the absolute best, and there is nobody with a voice like his. Bocelli has a beautiful voice also, but it is nowhere near as powerful as Pavarotti's.
