brother, I don't know how you do it! everytime at my cancer treatment, you post a video while I'm here! makes my visits much more tolerable. nurses always comment on me smiling and being in a good mood, little do they know it's due to your videos! Thank you again brother! you make my fight just a bit more easy. God Bless you n yours MC! 🗡🗡⚔️
Got the S-Tao. It is stellar. I actually would rather have this than a Sebenza. That says a lot. I would gladly pay double to have this made in the USA
It's crazy to see my EDC knife featured on MC's video. This has been my daily driver for almost a month now. LOVE the sheepsfoot Vanax blade (my favorite - 2nd being the Demko sharksfoot). The handle/scales feel amazing in my hand. Super sharp out of the box (bit my hand within the first hour). I think they (Kunwu) is coming out with a crossbar lock version - not sure if it will also be Vanax. Everyone loves my S-Tao. Even had a cop try and confiscate it from me so he could keep it to himself. My 2nd Kunwu is the soon to be release Pulsar.
i've tried some of the after market clips with mixed results on my x-tao. I just wish they have of included a nice milled clip like they do on some of their other models.
I never hear anyone talk about this brand anywhere but here, but man what a great deal. Their designs look very nice and you're saying they're built well, and the prices as you say are great. Makes me want to evangelize without even owning one. Seems like a good way for someone to dip a toe into more substantial waters once they progress in the hobby a bit, and get good bang for their buck.
You are correct MC. Most people want your honest opinion/review of the knives. Unless the person is Liong Mah. If you say anything bad about his knives, he will just verbally/publicly attack the person that gave the negative review. Pretty messed up what he said about Jerad. Especially considering it's not LM's first time acting like that. Jerad is such an honest/classy/stand up guy and definitely did not deserve that crap. LM's apology was so unbelievably bad and he only apologized bcuz he was trying to do damage control. Great video MC.
I absolutely love my x-tao in vanax. That has easily become one of my top favorite carries. Highly recommend it. Even recommended it for a review to Jared from Neeves Knives last week and you came out with this. Love the knife community hive mind.
I received my Kunwu S Tao Sheepsfoot yesterday. You're.100% correct: no regrets. I used it for my leather crafting today and it's by far the sharpest knife I have, aside from my Wusthoffs. It's very comfortable in the hand and the action is perfect. I don't have too much to compare it with but it's head and shoulders above any other pocket knife I've.handled.
I got my S-Tao in a couple weeks ago. It really is a great knife and an outrageous value. My only gripe is the size. It's just more knife than my daily routine requires. It is very similar to the PM2 in length and pocket presence, and has more sharpened edge than the PM2. For a lot of people that is probably perfect, bit for me, if I could turn the shrinking ray on it and make it a medium sized knife (more comparably in size to a Para 3) then it would be right at the top of my EDC Knife rotation instead of an occasional carry.
Metal thank you so SO much for showing off the S-Tao Vanax in your previous video, I just got mine in today, oh my freakin god this thing is screamin, reverse flicking has never been more satisfying. Kunwu made an absolutely insane knife, suffice to say I'll be carrying this one for a long time.
MC, thank you for all the content! Your videos are a great resources for someone like me that's just started their journey. I got my S Tao the Friday before this video went up. I bought it based on some of your comments about Kunwu from previous videos. I love the S Tao. It's my current favorite out of a small collection that I started in December. It's the right amount of fidgety and practical for me. I'm especially enjoying the front flipper action. I am replacing the wire clip, and I'm hoping that they do a mini S Tao and hopefully a tanto blade in the future.
Love your videos. Would be great if you could include a pop-up box on screen showing the knives’ dimensions, particularly handle thickness, which often gets left out, but is good info to determine comfort of carry. Thanks for the vids.
I got my S-Tao a few weeks ago. Flipper, front flipper, thumb and reverse flick + Vanax? It's crazy good. Crazy sharp too! It bit me, but it's all good.
I have a Kunwu TAO in Vanax and yes the quality is definitely there I have plenty of Reate made knives and I’d say the Kunwu is a step above most (most) of my Reate knives . Probably not the Varga by reate but all the rest for half the price . So definitely check them out if it’s in your budget and boy o boy does VANAX steel get sharp it came extremely sharp from the company but a few licks on the leather strop and WOW! Scary sharp . Anyways great knives and it’s a steal for the money in my opinion
Damn you brother!!! Just when I thought I didn’t need anything new, I now have another company I want to look into further. I’m looking for info into Vanax but not finding much as to where it rates to other steel compositions. Such as edge retention, toughness, corrosion resistance and ease of sharpening. Clearly out of the box the edge is exceptional but I am quite the edge snob. I use a wicked edge sharpening system and ALWAYS keep my blades shaving sharp.
I bought this and I’m still getting used to it. When I use my left hand it rests on the insert making deployment impossible. Probably just need to adjust it. Aside from the clip there isn’t much else to dislike. Very sharp from the jump.
Build quality is outstanding the geometry of the blades is great. Materials quality is supurb. If you are on the fence I say go for it KUNWU KNIVES ARE AMAZING!!!!
You’ve actually already reviewed and unboxed the Orion 2. From my own Orion 2 it looks the same with the only difference being that the second batch is in Elmax. While the first batch is in M390 (the one you already reviewed). Unless I’m blind, I literally took mine out to see the difference and they look identical. Ps kunwu is amazing and I’d recommend the orion 2 is an amazing full size knife. It gives me Xm-18 vibes whenever I pick it up. Also after breaking in it drops shut like a Hinderer as well! And honestly after owning it for a while. It still dominates my pocket A lot. Orion 2 is definitely my favorite out of kunwu. Kinda wanna pick up the Elmax version now 😅
I recently have become obsessed with knife collecting. Your videos have been very useful and educational. I thank you for taking the time to educate me. I am a single female and I am currently homeless what would you recommend for me to carry for protection?
Had an idea on a video. Watched someone do an abusive test on a st102 and it really held out good. All but the lock. And a little play but not a lot . But I was thinking the play Came when the lock started bending out. So went from 50 % to 100. Now he didn't say. But I think 50% is worse than 25 because 5o is headed at an angle towards 100% and failure. So was thinking of a video on that. Ty . Have great day
I bought the Orion based off your unboxing video of it adn when I saw the price... man, this company offers MAJOR quality for sub-$200 or right around $200 price points. I snapped that thing up - m390 blade gets laser sharp. Rock solid lockup, titanium throughout.. One of my favorites. And yeah, I see the Orion 2 has an Elmax blade, so there's a difference, if nothing else. And BTW, I have MANY great knives that were made in China. It just all depends on the specs. You can get a LOT for $200 from China.
Neat knife but I’ll be sticking with my griptillian in s90v and carbon fiber with sheepsfoot blade and spidy hole. Although idk if you saw but Kershaw just came out with a double action otf called livewire. Cpm-20cv steel. Aluminum handles and from what I can tell a super easy actuator for opening and closing. TLDR decent steel, standard handle, super smooth and easy use d/a. Think guardian Tactical recon smooth supposedly. Hopefully you’ll be able to get one and review it. If it’s good imma replace my old (2017) microtech that’s beat up and abused.
Love the X-tao! After just ordering 3 knives this week, i might as well make it a nice even number 4. Or 6. It's a sickness, baby! I can't help it! That woman has 200 pairs of shoes. Left AND right hand models of each! Idk what she's complaining about!
Love what Kunwu is doing, I have the X-tao in titanium and it has become my favourite knife, beautiful, solidly built, finishing is spot on - the build quality blows away mostly anything else in this price range (and many higher). There is only one downside - the wire clip! Why?? They have such beautiful clips on the Orion and the Zen and a nice clip on the big tao - why let the x-tao and now the s-tao down with a terrible looking wire clip?
The S-tao is awesome. I have only used it for opening packages but love it. I dont hate wire clips but the one on the S-tao is weak so does wiggle to the side when reverse flicking. But not a deal breaker.. as far as the blade well it's Vanex so it's super clean🤣🤣 . It's an awesome knife for wet salty environments!!
Ruin me financially Kunwu! Love my S-tao after a few weeks already (from seeing it here MC, thanks), carried it about every other day. It intrigued me as it was basically a massively upgraded replacement carry for my QSP Penguin with that nice sheepsfoot blade. Visually and functionally outstanding A+
Kunwu is fantastic, so is their heat treat and I’d love a Vanax blade. But I wish the s-Tao had some semblance of a point/tip - I don’t think I’ll ever be able to bring myself to carry a knife that can’t stab/puncture.
That S-Tao in Vannax is really tempting, but I'm not in love with the blade shape. If it were just a little pokier out front. Almost everything else about the knife is great. If it were some type of button or bar lock I probably wouldn't be able to resist.
anyone else have hard time opening because of the frame lock? I really have to make sure no part of my hand is touching it else it does not want to open
the way I look at it is, if Sal did not venture into selling knives from his van back in the 80s all of us that came after, especially the plethora of Chinese companies would not stand a chance. I have nothing but respect for what they do in Golden and am a huge Spyderco nut. If you don't like the materials used in their line get it cause of the heritage it carries in its DNA. Also 15v rocks, but also get a Kunwu ahahhahaha

Kunwu is knocking it out of the park! Quality is ON POINT! What makes it even better is Kunwu listens to the knife community!
@Druidic get what ya pay for! Imo it’s less expensive than a lot of USA manufacturers and better quality
I don't think so. Not expensive for what you're getting.
@Stelios Kontos I hear you on that
If you aren’t a fan of the wire clip, there are some clip replacements for Spyderco wires out there and I wonder if they would fit
i've tried some of the after market clips with mixed results on my x-tao. I just wish they have of included a nice milled clip like they do on some of their other models.

Lynch wire clips work as a replacement clip on the Kunwu S Tao. I put a blue one on to add blue to other side of knife and works great.
You are correct MC. Most people want your honest opinion/review of the knives. Unless the person is Liong Mah. I love this knife and was even able to get a Lynch clip on it! It’s so addictive as a fidget knife and the sharpness is insane!
I absolutely love my x-tao in vanax. That has easily become one of my top favorite carries.
Highly recommend it. Even recommended it for a review to Jared from Neeves Knives last week and you came out with this.

I was able to squeeze the cash out for the Pulsar on kickstarter. I ordered the diamond texture version, can’t wait for it to arrive!
I got my S-Tao in a couple weeks ago. It really is a great knife and an outrageous value.

What a great design. Front flipper. Flipper. Hole. All the goodies.. UGH. Need this
I like the looks of that Orion, I just wish the clip was the same color as the backspacer.
MC, thank you for all the content! Your videos are a great resources for someone like me that's just started their journey.

I just ordered the sheepsfoot version so excited man!
Just got mine s Tao and love it but the open angle for the thumb is not easy. Also the lock if you touch it makes it much harder to flip.
I have a first production run Tao which is really nice. I wish I had the Tao S instead though, as I prefer that blade shape.
Can't wait for my Ti Pulsar to show up. Thank you for showing us this brand, I would not have heard about it otherwise.
i have an x-tao, the overall quality is very good but my only complaint is the detent is very weak
I’m excitedly and anxiously waiting on my diamond pulsar!! Can’t wait!
I grabbed the big Tao awhile back, and it's very nice. High quality materials and a smooth action. Definitely worth more than the price!
I bought this and I’m still getting used to it. When I use my left hand it rests on the insert making deployment impossible. Probably just need to adjust it. Aside from the clip there isn’t much else to dislike. Very sharp from the jump.
Yea they look amazing!! I gotta check one out. Had some health issues I fixed over the last few years but I’m ready to rock some new blades
Kind of hoping for them to do the x to in the bar lock
I own a kunwu Zen and its phenomenal!
I absolutely love the X-Tao and S-Tao both of them are going to stay in the collection for as long as I'm living
I also have two pulsar coming 🤘

Kunwu does OEM work too. If I ever design a knife, I'd love to work with them. I wonder why nobody does.
Always love to see Vanax being used.
My most carried knife is the orian 3 . Love it

Didn’t you do a review of Quiet Carry knives with Vanax?
Man, I remember subbing when you had 7k Subs. Keep up the great work!
Wire clip is my favorite part lol
Really Like that S Tao , Thanks MC n Congrats on the 200 K 😎
basically we're going to use Vanax in everything. \m/
I love you

Is this actual Vanax Superclean coming from Uddeholm and you're hitting 62 HRC constantly enough to claim it as such? The price good!

I added the Orion 2 but couldn’t go to my cart or log in on Kunwu earlier today. Is it a me problem?

Looks a lot like the 0562!!
I have to get me a Kunwu real soon, they do really beautiful work 👍
I need to get me a Kunwu. Hopefully the pulsar. I feel like they have so much going on right now.

They are releasing one soon, called the Django. İt will be a clip point in Vanax with a clip point. You can see it on their Instagram page.
