Just found your channel a week ago and was watching every single video from beginning. Almost every video is legendary - the script, the storytelling, the music, the ideas, everything. This video (the story behind it) is sooo good, it almost feels like it was writen, like for some RPG game - new quest: go through border; requirements: get visa; options: 1. Bribe officer with money, 2. Bribe officer with "luxury" item (home cooked delicacy snails). 😃 epic. It was written hundreds of times but your channel is seriously underrated (like the vlogging mocumentary). Greetings from Romania!

What lovely people towards the end, you guys are very lucky to have been met with such innocence and kindness, especially after such an ordeal.. Well done for keeping in high spirits throughout, the lovely people at the end were clearly God sent.. Shame those kind of interactions are so rare..
WELL your vlogs are definately one of the best... The thing is the kind of hospitality you would find in underdeveloped/developing/3rd world countries doesn't exist elsewhere...
Problems similar to this happen in western countries as well. I was on a ski trip in British Columbia once that turned into a nightmare. We were travelling by bus with a Filipino driver. He obviously had little or no experience driving in snow. We got stuck several times. He had not brought tyre chains which are mandatory for these conditions. The bus company eventually sent another bus with an experienced driver. This got us almost back to Vancouver. But there was one more incident. The bus broke down 50 km short of Vancouver on the major highway between Vancouver and Hope BC. So we had carefully extract ourselves and our gear to get on the replacement bus on a very busy highway. The skiers on this trip were all senior citizens like myself, but fortunately most were in pretty good physical shape.

I took a travel and tourism course in Australia, when I lost my job (the course is what you need to become a licensed travel agent in New South Wales. One of the first things I was told by one of my teachers who owned her own agency was that when traveling through Africa or South America if the border officers ask for a visa "fee" or "payment", and it is not official, you either pay it or do not cross the border. I actually have no problem with this, as long as it is not to expensive. The officers are open to negotiate as they are usually aware that most people crossing the border are on a tight budget so they know that if they want their "fee" they can not make it unaffordable.

What I like about this guy is the fact that he is very realistic.. I mean travel in Africa is not at all easy and you will have multiple o obstacles during your journey but definitely it is worth it
